  5. Since two weeks or so, finally the WebOS store became available in the Netherlands. Unfortunately for me some very desired apps are still missing. These apps are: - Soundcloud - Spotify - IMDB Does anybody know if they are to be released in the Netherlands soon? Are they already available in other countries? In the web browser both Spotify and Soundcloud cannot be used because flash is not supported. Will there be flash support in the future? Before WebOS I used a Western Digital Live TV media player, WebOS is such a relieve in comparison to the WD media player. If these apps become available soon, WebOS is for sure the best smart-tv OS.

  7. Connect SDK is an open source framework that connects your mobile apps with multiple TV platforms. Because most TV platforms support a variety of protocols, Connect SDK integrates and abstracts the discovery and connectivity between all supported protocols. To discover supported platforms and protocols, Connect SDK uses SSDP to discover services such as DIAL, DLNA, UDAP, and Roku's External Control Guide (ECG). Connect SDK also supports ZeroConf to discover devices such as Chromecast. Even while supporting multiple discovery protocols, Connect SDK is able to generate one unified list of discovered devices from the same network. To communicate with discovered devices, Connect SDK integrates support for protocols such as DLNA, DIAL, SSAP, ECG, Chromecast, UDAP, and webOS second screen protocol. Connect SDK intelligently picks which protocol to use depending on the feature being used. For example, when connecting to a 2013 LG Smart TV, Connect SDK uses DLNA for media playback, DIAL for YouTube launching, and UDAP for system controls. On Roku, media playback and system controls are made available through ECG, and YouTube launching through DIAL. On Chromecast, media playback occurs through the Cast protocol and YouTube is launched via DIAL. To support the aforementioned use case without Connect SDK, a developer would need to implement DIAL, ECG, Chromecast, and DLNA in their app. With Connect SDK, discovering the three devices is handled for you. Furthermore, the method calls between each protocol is abstracted. That means you can use one method call to beam a video to Roku, 3 generations of LG Smart TVs, and Chromecast....Read More Source: http://connectsdk.com/
  8. Hi All, Has anyone had a recent update of the OS on their TV to 4.7.050204 (goldilocks2-gulaga) ? The reason I ask is that the IPTV channels on my TV seem to have borked these channels as I now get "Invalid Service" floating across the screen. I'm pretty sure these channels worked before the update. I'm referring to channels such as Now 90's, Planect Knowledge, The Sports Channel Network etc. So these are NOT APPS but TV Channels showing up on the guide and still show the programme details. This TV is only a week old, and I think I'm going to be bounced between the retailer and LG as it seems to be a software issue. Does anyone have similar experiences and have you resolved the issue ? TIA 51.sqn
  9. After purchase my LG smart tv was able to pick up DTT (digital Terrestial Transmitters in the local area. These channels failed to work after some time and it was assumed that they were switched off due to the never ending wait for South Africa to migrate fully to digital. However tuning my sons Hi Sense tv the said channels were found and indeed are operational as digital HD channels Returning to my LG tv i changed the location to digital , retuned and lo and behold the digital channels appeared on a multiplex on uhf channel 49 (8mhz) however within a few minutes they disappeared never to be seen again isn spite of much time and many alternative settings. I have tried changing location, adding channel 49 UHF manually which shows full signal strength and quality, but gives no digital programmes found. I have had to revert to the 4 terrestial channels to get any tv operation at all. I believe that my set has been crippled by LG. I am highly upset considering the cost of a uhd TV thats not capable of performing ito its original specification or at its best. Any advice on how to obtain a working system ( frimware has been updated ) or the legal route to go to resolve this issue would be welcome. NB as a retired broadcast technologist i do have some knowledge of the industry so would welcome any technical perspectives if i have missed something thanks Mikei
  10. Question: Why does LG's website say I should check this forum to see if 3rd Party Bluetooth Headsets with work completely and correctly with LG sound sync and WebOS, when LG has not or will not publish a list of which 3rd Party Bluetooth Headsets are tested as compatible with specific LG TV models? We recently purchased an LG 55UM7300PUA (2019) TV and have a question about which 3rd Party Bluetooth Headsets that are compatible with LG sound sync and WebOS... My wife wants to listen to our 55UM7300PUA TV through a set of Bluetooth Headphones while the TV Internal Speakers are turned off... It seems that LG's USA website needs to be updated because LG's search results about our 55UM7300PUA model seem incomplete. The LG Tech Support website does not list the 55UM7300PUA as a TV nor Smart TV product and no 55UM7300PUA or 55UM73 manual is listed in search results. I finally found the Owners Manual for our 55UM7300PUA through a Google search, but this PDF Owners Manual I downloaded does not say if our 55UM7300PUA supports LG sound sync or which manufacturer/models of Bluetooth Headsets . I am disappointed by a lack of technical support from LG in past forum discussions regarding which 3rd Party Bluetooth Headsets with work completely and correctly with LG sound sync and WebOS. LG Technical Support is forcing customers like me to buy Bluetooth Headsets at our expense, they ask us to do their testing with a lack of specific 55UM7300PUA documentation, and they direct us to "refer to headset model names in user guide" that are not simply listed. Does our 55UM7300PUA support the use of Bluetooth Headphones and is "LG sound sync" required for use with Bluetooth Headphones? Why should we have to test 3rd party Headsets at our expense when LG Tech Support should specifiy which OEM and 3rd party Headsets work with which LG TV models?

  12. I want to ask that what is the ideal total power on time for a new lg tv. I bought one and it already shows 1048 hours. Is this possible for a new tv? Anyone have any idea?
  13. Updated my LG 55UK6360PTE to version 05.10.10 a few weeks ago. Few days after the update the television has trouble booting up, it gets stuck on the lg logo, then I have to switch the tv off by holding the power logo for a few seconds, then boot it up again only to find it getting stuck on the lg logo again, after repeating this process a few times I am finally able to boot the tv and proceed smoothly until I dare turn it off to face the whole issue all over again. Anyone else witnessed the same problems, is there anyway to downgrade the webos, tried the lgdtvupdater but it doesn't work, I guess it only works for models upto 2017. Correct me if I am wrong
  14. Hello everyone! I've just bought the new LG 55SM8600PLA with the latest update (AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support) and having many problems with it. The moment I plug the Ethernet cable on it, the TV starts spamming my entire network with Zeroconfi packages (captured with WireShark) resulting on all devices becoming unresponsive and slow. Here is screenshot of me pinging a wireless device with latency higher than 500ms, the moment I turn off the TV, ping goes to normal ~1ms (all cable): This happens with all devices on my local network. Using a couple of Asus RT-AC68U routers. Does this happens to any of you? Thanks!

  18. Hallo, i am trying to update my LG 55UF850T to webOS 3.x due to UHDTV and HDR compatibility. Update via menu not possible. It shows 2.2.1 as the most current version. I downloaded 3.x via the website and copied it to a USB stick as mentioned in the guideline. Now the problem: USB stick is recognized as a Smart Share device but the firmware and folder do not trigger the update process. Question: is there a technical guideline on how to proceed, e.g. Via the hidden Support menu? Any other ideas or procedures that I can trigger? please advice. Rob

  23. Posted by XDA developers... When we feature a new root method it’s typically for a smartphone. If it’s not a smartphone then it could be a tablet, smartwatch, or an Android TV set-top box. However, more and more devices are starting to become “smart,” which essentially means they have some sort of extra software feature that previously wasn’t possible. This could be a light bulb that can be controlled by our smartphone or a TV that has applications you can install. https://forum.xda-developers.com/web-os
  24. I can find only one app on my LG PF1500W webOS enabled LED projector , the accuweather app. I can't find any other apps like Netflix. How can I run Netflix on this projector here in New Zealand? Is the LG content store not enabled in NZ? I have ordered the projector through Amazon US. Everything else seems to work fine. Including the LG TV Plus android app.
