  1. Of course PDF files can't be downloaded, but the WebOS version 4.4.0-9 browser can't even display them! Previous versions of the bowser displayed them just fine. Now I have a bunch of browser bookmarks that are useless. Also, there is no way to rearrange the bookmarks anymore. So version 4 also killed bookmark management. And while I'm on a rant, I can no longer drag and drop text between tabs. I have to write down or remember things like URLs and retype them into the new location. That's something else that that got killed in the update. I'm calling it a downgrade. Can I go back?
  2. Please post here firmware number for your WebOS set including your country or the country where you downloaded the firmware and the model of your tv set: - 3.23.24 - Romania- 47LB730v - 3.23.34 - Romania -47LB730v - 21.08.2014 by USB - 4.30.09 - Romania - 47LB730v - 29.08.2014 - OTA
  3. UPDATING YOUR FIRMWARE The firmware that powers your LG Ultra HD 4K Smart TV with webOS should be updated from time to time to enhance your experience and improve its operation. Thankfully, this can be done easily and quickly, right at home. Watch this quick video to learn more. Or follow the easy steps below to get started. HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO UPDATE MY FIRMWARE? Firmware updates don't happen frequently, so you should be fine checking for updates every other month. HOW DO I CHECK FOR, AND DOWNLOAD, AVAILABLE FIRMWARE UPDATES? Before you do anything, make sure you have an Ethernet cord connected directly from your router to your television. Wireless Internet connections are not reliable enough for firmware updates. Use this diagram if you need help getting set up: ONCE YOUR TV HAS A WIRED CONNECTION, DO THE FOLLOWING: Press the MENU Click SYSTEM SETTINGS Then ABOUT Then SYSTEM UPDATES You'll be advised that your system is currently up to date or requested to select CHECK NOW for the latest update. If a new version is available, it downloads automatically. FIRMWARE UPDATES WILL ALSO UPDATE LG ULTRA HD 4K SMART TV AND LG APPS AT THE SAME TIME.

  8. We have signage projects, all over GCC. We are facing issue with Webos tv especially on model 49sm5ke-bj. It is losing connectivity overnight, the displays are left switched on at stores. But on the next day it wouldn't be connected to the Internet and hence the contents are getting corrupted. Always we need to restart the display again or exit and start the app again.

  10. Hi, I was tying to change the settings on our LG TV to enable it for HD channel reception. We found instructions on the net to configure the "area option" in the hidden menu, however, they did not work. So, we thought that we need to change the country group to be able to receive the HD channels. Although we could not change the "country group code" from 20 to an arbitrary number, we change it to 10. After that, we have not been able to change it anymore. It is struck there. I know this is ridiculous, but an LG TV expert who is working in LG customer services told us that I could not change it either and we need to replace the IC. I shocked why with a simple change in one of the TV parameters, everything is got complicated. In details, here is the picture of the parameters currently set on the LG TV with the model number of 49LH549V-TD: Please tell me why I could not set the "country group code" to 20 once again? It is gray meaning that is unchangeable. Any ideas will be appreciated. Best regards Alizadeh

  14. Is it possible to install/add different browser in webOS? The default browser that came with TV has some issues (playing videos in Youtube, in full screen mode, just kept refreshing, in other modes plays find, other online streaming seems not working as well). In PC those sites worked just fine, without any problem.

  17. LG's webOS 6.0 smart TVs have a new UI, NFC-equipped remote The new smart TV software from LG also has more voice commands for use with Alexa or Google Assistant Seven years after introducing webOS as the platform for its Smart TV lineup, LG is introducing version 6.0 with a new look and feel for its 2021 4K and 8K TVs. The old blade lineup of apps is gone, with a more modern tile-based layout. LG Home Entertainment president Park Hyoung-sei calls this “the most significant update since we first introduced webOS in 2014.” An upgraded version of its ThinQ AI has more voice command control than ever whether you’re using Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. For traditional control, this year’s edition of its Magic Remote is a bit more standard than some of the previous versions, but also includes NFC for the first time, which allows users to share content from phone to TV (and back) simply by tapping it. The new software includes Magic Explorer, which can pull up related content about actors, locations and items of interest for “select broadcast channels, while Next Picks analyzes viewing preferences to suggest things you might like. There’s no word on opt-in or opt-out preferences for these settings, but we’ll ask about them as the show progresses next week. It’s also unclear whether the updates will extend to older TVs in LG’s lineup, one way or another, the old HP software platform is still rolling on, powering new OLEDs and LCDs for another year. 18. Every time I use the scrollwheel on the amazing LG remote for the 55" OLED55B7V TV nothing happens, until I realize I am scrolling in the wrong direction. For everyone not accustomed with PCs, ie the whole mobile generation and all of us on the Apple platform, the so called "natural" scrolling aka "inverted scrolling" is what feels right. If I want the content on my screen to go up to reveal more content, I scroll the wheel up. On PCs and WebOS, you scroll the viewport, not the content, so you have to scroll down to make the content move up. If it would be up to me, the default should be natural scrolling, but at least give me an option to change the scrolling behaviour! For me, the current behaviour is just jarring each and every time I want to scroll! Moving a viewport is the old paradigm. Moving the content, as you do every day on your phones and tablets and PCs with touch screens, is how we interact now.
  19. How can I update firmware of this TV? I can't find firmware update anywhere!
  20. I was wondering if there’s any chance that we going to have iTunes on webos I own like 300 movie plus tv show on iTunes just got my first new oled c8 Now there’s a lot rumors about airplay 2 only for 9 generation .
  21. After update, sound and picture is gittering.. picture jumps and sound goes quite then very loud every second. Can I reverse the update this occurs on TV, Netflix, and Prime, so it is not an app issue.. how can I fix this. Turning tv on and off does nothing
  22. It is now 2020, and the WebOS browser in LG Smart TVs (which I believe is Chromium-based) is still massively out of date and doesn't work properly with a ton of websites! The main problem is actually very simple. The browser doesn't support EMCAScript 2015 or ES6. Basically, translated from nerd speak, it doesn't work properly with modern code using new features created since 2015, so any newer websites will break unless they've been written to be compatible with ancient browsers and OSes. This should not be the case on a TV made in the current year. It should be running an up-to-date web browser, if not for convenience, then for SECURITY reasons as well!
  23. Hi all, hope someone can help me. I have a LG 49LX761H model 2016. I know it’s a hospitality tv but turned that mode off it works perfect. We upgrade the webos to the latest version available but the content store is not available. Is this function not available on this model or do I need to turn something on. Hope someone has the answer. Thanks
  24. I have LG webOS TV UF950T, software version 04.06.00 1.) WebOS is getting updates but new apps are not showing up in LG Content store. When I visit https://in.lgappstv.com/main through my Tv browser there are many new Apps which are not in LG content store. When i try to install , it says not compatible with your Tv. 2) When i try to play a video some times it says video format not supported and some times audio format not supported like with opus & ogg. My question is to Manufacturers/ WebOs designers if this is the case what is the point in updating TV, when there are no apps or support for new video or audio formats ???? In this case its like if i want new apps, I have to buy a new TV, updates are not helping in improving TV in any ways, no longer a Smart TV lol
