  1. Hi everyone. I have a quite recent LG 43UM74507LA smart TV (2019 model). The current software version is the 05.10.25. I can read on the guide that the maximum suggested size for an external USB-connected drive is 2 TB. But what does it mean suggested? That it might be dangerous in some form for the hard drive to connect a unit which is larger than 2 TB? I am asking this because I actually use to connect a 4 TB external hard drive (a portable WD elements), with single NTFS partition, just to watch some video files (so no recording or else), and it works just perfectly. No problem of any sort. That's why I am very confused. I should also add that this drive is almost full (it contains 3.6 TB of data), and this does not affect the readability by the TV. I am indeed considering to buy another hard disk (exactly because the former one is almost full 😄), and I am considering a 8 TB WD Elements Destkop, which will be also formatted in NTFS (the only difference is that this one must be plugged to power as well, while the former only requires to be plugged to the TV via USB). Now, since the former 4 TB hard drive actually works, despite the "official suggestion", should I be confident that also the 8 TB one will work? Would you suggest me to proceed with buying that? Thank you very much in advance for your answers!
  2. I have a LG TV model: 47LB652V-ZA, webOS version 1.4.0-2523 (afro-ashley). Why isn't Spotify supported for this TV if its from 2014 and it says that devices from 2013 and onwards will be supported
  3. I have a LG 55" 4K UHD HDR OLED webOS Smart TV and a Sonos Arc. They have been working together fine, but suddenly are not and I cannot seem to fix it. I have tried everything from new hdmi cable to total factory reset on both pieces of equipment and I am so frustrated! Can anyone assist me with what might work? Or is anyone else suddenly experiencing issues with this setup as well? thanks!!
  4. Bought a oled65g16la worse thing I ever did, how do you put a normal size plug behind a 19mm thick TV? answer is you can't!! I have a Sonos system, works fine on all other TV's, but I can only get Stereo out of it and not 5.1, it's connected via HDMI, supports ARC, I have gone to setting and tried everything, anyone have any idea's? 8. I can't connect my google home hub to my smart tv(UK6360PTE) don't say, it doesn't support it because it has an inbuilt Google assistant and also the model no is mentioned on the LG website containing the list of supported models. It's a 2018 model. The app named "connect tv to Google assistant" is missing from the home screen. I tried to be over smart (LOL) and asked the voice command for the app it said opening the "connect tv to Google assistant" app and redirected me to the app store but it said not available. HELP ME...

  10. Does anyone else have an issue with the CX not displaying inputs after an input selection change? I found a YouTube video discussing this issue: and in one of the comments, someone recommended disabling the Quick Select+ option; someone else suggested disabling the AMD Freesync option to fix the issue. I did both and that seems to correct the issue, but these are features that I paid for. Does anyone else have this problem? Just wondering if I have a defective unit. Thanks,
  11. I'm trying to add channels using LG's guide / channel manager to favorite groups. When I try to select a channel to move to the favorites group, the app tunes to that channel and closes; never giving me the opportunity to add it to my new group. I was going to add all channels and try to remove the ones I don't want in that group but I can't because there's a limit. At first, I thought the issue was the 'remote control' input the TV created when I added my Direct TV remote (I had all my HDMI connections through my home receiver with only one HDMI connection to the TV) so all the inputs on the TV were listed as HDMI 2 with different names. Going through the receiver, I had a 'set top box' HDMI 2 input, PS5 HDMI 2 input, etc.; when I attempted to add the direct tv remote control option to the 'set top box', the software created a new input - Direct TV on HDMI 2 but the set-top-box remained. Initially when I tried to add a channel to my favorites, the software would change from the direct tv input to the set-top-box input and tune to that channel ( I thought it was confused by the basically the same input twice). However, I connected the Direct TV input directly to the TV and the channel favorites editor still tunes to the channel selected and closes the app. Any ideas? I'd really like to pair down the channel list to only what I watch in a few categories.
  12. FYI: while researching some other LG mysteries, I came across this GREAT site with VERY good visuals explaining the different model numbering schemes for all the older and newer LG models. This goes from 2011 through to 2020, and is very comprehensive and easy to understand, so hats off to whoever put this all together: https://en.tab-tv.com/?page_id=7111 Apologies if this has been posted before (and the experts on here may know this stuff already), but even if in the middle of a thread, I think it deserves its own seperate topic. I am sure it will help someone.. 😊

  17. Connect SDK is an open source framework that connects your mobile apps with multiple TV platforms. Because most TV platforms support a variety of protocols, Connect SDK integrates and abstracts the discovery and connectivity between all supported protocols. To discover supported platforms and protocols, Connect SDK uses SSDP to discover services such as DIAL, DLNA, UDAP, and Roku's External Control Guide (ECG). Connect SDK also supports ZeroConf to discover devices such as Chromecast. Even while supporting multiple discovery protocols, Connect SDK is able to generate one unified list of discovered devices from the same network. To communicate with discovered devices, Connect SDK integrates support for protocols such as DLNA, DIAL, SSAP, ECG, Chromecast, UDAP, and webOS second screen protocol. Connect SDK intelligently picks which protocol to use depending on the feature being used. For example, when connecting to a 2013 LG Smart TV, Connect SDK uses DLNA for media playback, DIAL for YouTube launching, and UDAP for system controls. On Roku, media playback and system controls are made available through ECG, and YouTube launching through DIAL. On Chromecast, media playback occurs through the Cast protocol and YouTube is launched via DIAL. To support the aforementioned use case without Connect SDK, a developer would need to implement DIAL, ECG, Chromecast, and DLNA in their app. With Connect SDK, discovering the three devices is handled for you. Furthermore, the method calls between each protocol is abstracted. That means you can use one method call to beam a video to Roku, 3 generations of LG Smart TVs, and Chromecast....Read More Source: http://connectsdk.com/
  18. Updated my LG 55UK6360PTE to version 05.10.10 a few weeks ago. Few days after the update the television has trouble booting up, it gets stuck on the lg logo, then I have to switch the tv off by holding the power logo for a few seconds, then boot it up again only to find it getting stuck on the lg logo again, after repeating this process a few times I am finally able to boot the tv and proceed smoothly until I dare turn it off to face the whole issue all over again. Anyone else witnessed the same problems, is there anyway to downgrade the webos, tried the lgdtvupdater but it doesn't work, I guess it only works for models upto 2017. Correct me if I am wrong

  21. LIKE THOUSANDS OF OTHERS I WANTED TO SAVE MONEY BY CUTTING THE CORD AND GET RID OF CABLE. I GUESS THAT WAS MY FIRST MISTAKE. I SEARCHED ONLINE FOR OVER A MONTH FOR A SMART TV WITHIN MY PRICE RANGE. LOOKED AT EVERYTHING I COULD THINK OF BEFORE I MADE A DECISION. ON EVERY THING I LOOKED AT NOTHING EVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE MEMORY CAPACITY OF ANY SMART TV THAT I LOOKED AT SO I DIDNT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. THAT WAS ANOTHER MISTAKE. I FINALLY DECIDED TO GET AN LG BECAUSE I ALSO HAVE 2 LG SMART PHONES THAT WORK GREAT SO AN LG TV SHOULD BE EVEN BETTER. I JUST KEEP MAKING THESE MISTAKES. WELL I FINALLY DECIDED ON A 55 INCH LG 556090PUA BECAUSE IT WAS WITHIN MY PRICE AND IT CAME WITH A FREE SOUND BAR PROVIDED BY THE ONLINE STORE I BOUGHT IT FROM. WELL I HOOKED EVERY THING UP AND WHEN I STARTED NOSING AROUND IN THE TV SETTINGS THAT IS WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT THIS SMART TV STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX BEFORE UPDATES AND BEFORE ANY APPS ARE INSTALLED ONLY COMES WITH 0.54 GB OF INTERNAL MEMORY. IM THINKING NOPE THIS HAS TO BE WRONG BECAUSE EVEN MY FIRESTICK HAS ALMOST 5 GB OF MEMORY SO IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR A SMART TV TO HAVE ALMOST 10 TIMES LESS MEMORY THAN A FIRESTICK. .ANOTHER MISTAKE. SO I WENT AND UPDATED 2 APPS THAT CAME PREINSTALLED WITH THE TV. I UPDATED YOUTUBE AND I UPDATED PRIME VIDEO. MY 0.54 FELL DOWN TO 0.42 GB. LG CLAIMS THAT YOU CAN DOWNLOAD APPS ONTO THEIR TVS BUT YET HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE WHEN EVERY PREINSTALLED APP ON THIS SMART TV NEEDS UPDATES BUT IF I UPDATE ANY MORE THAN THE 2 THAT I DID I WOULD BE OUT OF MEMORY AND THE LESS MEMORY THAT YOU HAVE THE SLOWER YOUR DEVICE RUNS. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO KNOW WHO IN BLUE BLAZES EVER THOUGHT TO CALL THIS DUMBER THAN A DUMB TV A SMART TV. SO NOW IN ORDER TO SAVE MONEY I HAVE TO SPEND MONEY. SCRATCHING MY HEAD ON THAT ONE. BUT IN ORDER FOR THIS SMART TV TO BE SMART I HAD TO BUY A FIRESTICK SO I CAN INSTALL PROGRAMS ON IT TO WATCH AS WELL AS BUY AN EXTERNAL MEMORY CARD TO SAVE THINGS TO. ITS A JOKE. THE SMARTEST THING ABOUT THIS TV IS LG ITSELF WHO DECIDED TO MAKE A DUMB TV AND PUT A SMART TV PRICE TAG ON IT. BECAUSE LG KNEW THAT A STUPID GUY LIKE MYSELF WOULD BUY IT FROM THEM AS LONG AS THEY JUST FUDGED THE DETAILS A LITTLE BIT. SO ME BUYING A SMART TV LEFT ME WITH 2 EMPTY POCKETS WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT A SMART TV WITH ITS OWN VERSION OF THE SCARECROWS CLASSIC ON THE WIZARD OF OZ SINGING IF I ONLY HAD A BRAIN. AND LG THEY ARE LAUGHING AT ME THE ENTIRE TIME AS THEY ARE RUNNING THEMSELVES ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK TO DEPOSIT MY CHECK AND CALLING ME A SUCKER. SO PAT YOURSELVES ON THE BACK LG. I ADMIT IT YOU GOT ME. BUT THAT MISTAKE WILL NEVER BE MADE AGAIN BY ME. AND ALSO IN HOPES OF OTHERS NOT MAKING THE MISTAKE THAT I DID I HAVE MADE POSTS ON REDDIT FACEBOOK YOUTUBE AND TWITTER ABOUT LG STEALING MONEY OUT OF A WORKING MANS POCKETS AND I AM NOT DONE BADMOUTHING LG YET. SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO FOLLOWS MY VARIOUS POSTS HAVE GIVEN ME NEW IDEAS ON HOW I CAN GET MY MESSAGE OF LG RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. I DONT GET MAD I GET EVEN. YOU STOLE MONEY FROM ME SO I AM STEALING POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS FROM YOU JUST BY SPEAKING THE TRUTH. OF COURSE LG IF YOU WANT YOU COULD TRY AND SUE ME FOR TRYING TO BESMIRCH THE LG LOGO. BUT IF YOU DO THAT IT WOULD ONLY MAKE LG LOOK EVEN WORSE AND I CAN GUARANTEE YOU THAT IF I GET SUED THAT ALL THAT YOU WILL GET PAID BY ME WOULD BE MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS OF POCKET LINT BECAUSE THAT IS ALL THAT YOU LEFT ME WITH WHEN YOU SOLD ME A DUMB TV WITH A SMART PRICE TAG. BUNCH OF DAMN WANKERS.

  23. LG always makes a big splash at CES, and the first glimpse we've had of the 2019 lineup looks great. From the first 8K OLED TV to hit the market to smarter AI and across-the-board improvements, LG's TVs are looking especially good for 2019. LG Jumps to 8K The biggest announcement has to be the introduction of the 88-inch Z9 OLED 8K TV, the first OLED to come to market with the higher resolution standard. The sleek TV has an ultra slim design, eye-popping detail and impressive dynamic range. It's also the first 8K TV announced that will offer to perfect black levels and per-pixel lighting that makes OLED such an impressive display technology. During our hands on time with the new TV, we were impressed not only with the amazing clarity of the picture, but also the vibrant color and brightness. While LG declined to comment on peak brightness levels, it matched some of the brightest TVs we've seen, without sacrificing any of the detailed shadows or mid-range colors that might wash out on a lesser TV. The second is an 8K LCD set to 75-inch LG NanoCell 8K TV (75SM99), which uses LG's optimized LCD displays and NanoCell film filtering for premium TVs. Like the OLED model, it features incredible resolution, but the LCD display offers excellent brightness and color, two areas where LCD generally outperforms OLED. With the lack of any 8K content available to Consumers, LG is going to some lengths to ensure that current content looks good on the high-resolution panel. Even on the LG enhances all incoming content by pulling in optimization from deep datasets, offering upscaling and clarity enhancements for any content, from any source. Both OLED sets will be coming to market in 2019, likely sometime in June or July. Pricing details have not yet been announced. Smart TVs Get Smarter The rest of LG's OLED lineup is seeing significant improvements thanks to new Alpha 9 (A9 Gen 2) processing hardware, found in LG's OLED and premium LCD models. The processor handles processing for a cleaner picture, sharper details and a wider look-up table for true-to-life color. Unexpanded video cleanup process removes unwanted artifacts and offers sharper picture from any content source. While the TV still primarily relies upon Google Assistant for content search and other capabilities, this does open up all of the functionality Amazon offers their customers, including exclusive skills such as Audible audiobook playback, listening to songs through Amazon music, travel booking through Kayak, and more. The smart TV software is also getting updated as LG rolls out webOS 4.5. The on-screen menu is getting an improvement, adding a second contextual row to the app menu that pops up when you select an app. In this second row, you'll see recently watched content, along with movie recommendations and trending content. Smart home enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that the new version of webOS also includes a feature called Home Dashboard. This dedicated tool lets you manage all of your connected home devices, from smart doorbells to thermostats, right from the TV. OLED and LCD TVs for 2019 LG's entire lineup is being updated for 2019 with new models coming this spring. Models announced include the premium LG OLED E9, entry level OLED C9, and an updated version of the super thin wallpaper TV the LG Signature W9 OLED. No prices have been announced, but we expect the TVs to begin rolling out this spring. (Though not yet announced, LG did tell us that the popular LG OLED B9 will be coming out later in 2019. No additional details were shared.) LG's LCD model line, previously known as Super UHD, is now known as NanoCell. The model line features the new webOS 4.5 platform, and many (though not all) models will include the new Alpha A9 Gen 2 processor, with all of its enhancements. Pricing details have not yet been announced, but the new models will arrive in stores sometime this spring. 25. My version is 4.10.4 which says it's the latest to my uhd tv .. I have a problem that picture is faster than sound and I only have option to increase the amount which make it worse .. anyone knows a way that the siftware gives me an option to make this value like -5 or something to have correct lip sync ? I use internal speakers.
