  1. This is only a peer to peer enthusiasts site. Did any of you actually complain to LG support directly?
  2. @Francisco Solis Try unplugging all external devices, and try again. If not difference, try a factory reset. If still bad, it is either a "bad" firmware update (turned off TV before completed, thus corrupting the update), or a hardware fault, in which case raise a call with LG to fix it.
  3. @Benjamin63 On some Magic remotes it is marked (123), if not try the Home button, or a Gear (cog) button for settings.
  4. @Ces What do you mean by your Streaming Menu? If yout have some sort of streaming device or set-top-box attached to your TV, and you turn it on first, then most TV's "remember" that last active input, and use that (for HDMI anyway). Did you untick/disable Quick Start+ on yours?
  5. @Alfonso It seems that only the new ThinQ range is properly compatible with Amazon Alexa devices. See: https://www.lg.com/us/experience-tvs/ai-tvs/alexa Other owners on here with more expertise/knowledge than me may be able to add to the list, but I suspect you might need a TV with the latest WebOS to use it.
  6. @Ces When it turns on, does it start with a specific channel, or just the Live TV logo, or something else? If on an actual channel, if your aerial is weak, you may get static on some channels, so you might want to think about a better more powerful one. Try turning off Quick Start+ in TV settings, that sometimes fixes odd issues.
  7. @jaculson I think only newer OLED TV's have the actual Spotify app. Your other devices (phones, PC, tablets) should be able to "Cast To" your TV, but I hear you might need to choose "LG TV" rather than "LG WebOS" item if given 2 choices. There were some Cast bugs with Spotify back in OCT 2020, so ensure you are using the latest release of any APP on the sending device.
  8. @Gaogier You state that you "Rewired your ethernet and WiFi" - what exactly did you do, and does a basic APP like YouTube actually find and display videos? I am wondering if the TV has a network setup issue after your change. Did you change the routers DNS server IP address? If so, try changing the TV network manually, and set the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 (the default Google one), and see if it is finding stuff better.
  9. @HankO If your WiFi is unreliable, you might need to resite the router, or look at the channel numbers, like in my post.
  10. @Marie Discovery+ is only available in certain countries and LG TV models. If it is not seen in the LG STORE APP, then you cannot install it.
  11. @هلال جميل ابوسمعان What is the purpose of your post? I do not see a question here.
  12. @Babybeauty Thomas Your time zone is Central Standard Time Bear in mind that not every city will be in the list, but maybe Chicago will be? A time zone will cover MANY cities and states. Anyway, if you see "CST" there, that will be your time zone.

@Rje You cannot add apps to the LG Store, as LG control that, so they only add apps that they have licence to add, and that work with your specific model/series, in your country. Have you checked if you are on the latest firmware update, released on 26th NOV 2020: [03.21.10] 1. Improved the inability to launch or install apps on the TV in certain conditions
  14. @Francesco Gaetani Most browser offered for use as the "built in" browser "app" in most smart TV's (including LG), are very basic, do not contain all the features and goodies that are in mainstream PC browsers (like Firefox, and Edge etc). So, you will find many things that do not work, and many items that will not load or play. The other issue is that the browser apps RARELY get updated on smart TV's, so often fall very behind current browser technologies. Because smart TV's have a browser, and "apps" many owners think they are like a PC, but it is like comparing chalk and cheese. It my sound very "clunky" but your best method is to use you laptop, and cast the video to your TV.
  15. @Rolandg Only certain LG TV's have this capability, but if you have the LG Photo Editor app on yours, it MIGHT work. Try the site info below, for the WebOS part of the article: https://itigic.com/capture-screen-on-android-tv-and-webos/ NOTE: premium apps like NETFLIX etc. will block this due to strict copyright of their material (DRM).
  16. @pawan sachintha It would be best to raise a support call with LG in your country, to ask if/when they plan to add the capability, BUT is may depend mostly on the programme providers, NOT necessarily LG.
  17. @Colin Todd Please let us know your full LG TV model. Is the BBC iPlayer the ONLY TV app that does this? Are you allowing updates to occur on the TV (firmware etc) - some owners block these.
  18. @Colin Todd Please post the full LG model, and let us know if this is the ONLY TV APP/Player that does this. Is the TV on the network and getting app updates?
  19. @Stephen Davies Many TV owners who want good sound, and good dialogue, go for an AVR (Audio Visual Receiver), as these have a variety of extra features built in if you want them, and even the lower featured ones have good controls over things like dialogue enhancement, and room correction, where a lot of lower spec Sound Bars do not. A centre speaker is a MUST if you want good dialogue from your TV programmes (especially those that have a lot of background music, or the actors use that horrible "natural acting" style and mumble like they are trying to emulate Marlon Brando)! However, with a stand, you will need about 6 inches clearance to have a small centre speaker, and room for good bookshelf speakers left and right of the TV. A Subwoofer for LF and effects can go anywhere. As your TV is 49" diagonally, I suspect it is about 46" wide, and with stand limits (depending where the legs are). I guess you need about a 40" soundbar. This probably will limit your choice, depending on your location, but Google around to see what comes in at the right size.
  20. @Murray Ronald Thanks for the feedback. That definitely sounds like a WebOS bug. It would be best to report it directly to your LG country support.
  21. @Arthur Dent I just spotted this mentioned in another forum, it might be available in UK,not sure, but has a good rating: https://www.theaudiotailor.com.au/products/zvox-accuvoice-av157-soundbar
  22. @Murray Ronald Thanks for the feedback. Are you saying that a factory reset has fixed you issue, or you have turned OFF the CC permanently using the Accessibility setting options?
  23. @powder Interesting comments here:| https://superuser.com/questions/219163/how-to-play-movie-with-subtitles-using-dlna-server/280697 NOTE: some users have founf KODI can work like that for some TV's, another user fiound SERVIIO worked well "There are two versions for this: The first one is that the TV supports the playing of the subtitles, in which case it will request the subtitles from the DLNA and display it (usually, there's a button on a tv remote to turn on the subtitles explicitly - on Sony there's a button with four dots inside the square (....) that turns on the subtitles). Usually, the subtitles have to be in the same folder where the video is, and with the exact same title. But, not all subtitle formats are usually supported (e.g. srt, etc), and this varies from vendor to vendor. The other option is for the DLNA to send the subtitles along inside the video image. For this, you need transcoding. Transcoding is usually used when the TV doesn't have support for the source video format and the DLNA transcodes it to a format TV can play, but in the case of subtitles, the DLNA has to transcode just so it can insert the subtitles into the movie image. Some DLNA servers usually have an option to 'always transcode when subtitles found'."
  24. @bluesbones I believe that CC or Subtitles is not available on all channels, and may vary within one channel depending on the program chosen, and adverts often do not have them.
  25. @Murray Ronald Are you talking about "CC" (Close Caption) options here? If you press select while watching a Live TV program, you should see a CC option that you can toggle on or off. Have a look at the Accessibilty options, there may be an advanced setting for those if you need more control. If something else (i.e. from a NetFlix or other premium APP program/video title), can you please explain or show a screen shot? Also from an LG site (may be your issue): "It’s a common complaint among LG TV owners. You’ve turned off the closed captions just as we’ve mentioned yet the subtitles remain. This happens most often when this happens the captions are turned on somewhere other than your TV. Closed captions are available on a variety of devices that you use with your LG TV. From your cable box to a Roku or Firestick device, the captions could be appearing because they’re set up on another device. After you’ve verified that the captions are off on the LG TV using the methods above, check your connected devices to ensure the captions are off there as well."
