All 3 will be using the same "on/off" codes, as they are all LG. Even if out of IR (Infra Red) range, the controls use a BlueTooth interface as well, which will often reach 10 - 20 metres.

Universal Control Settings : Optical : Sherwood Amp - No volume control

You might find that the Bluetooth parts of the remote have stopped working, because the combined WiFi/Bluetooth card in the TV has failed. Storms and power-cuts and excessive static are notorious for killing sensitive electronic parts inside appliances, because surges can short/open sensitive low voltage logic-gates. Mine has done that, and the main controls on the remote work via the IR beam, but NOT more complex stuff like microphone/voice controls, or sound and some others. I am lucky enough to have the "LG TV PLUS" app on my phone, that does all I need via the network. I THINK the WiFi part is still working, but I use a direct LAN comms cable to the TV, so it does NOT need WiFi anyway. You CAN get that little internal card online (EBAY etc.), it just plugs into the main board via a small cable. -
I assume it is an older LCD TV? You did not mention the type or model number. This can often be cause by a failed/failing backlight. Backlight Issues A problem with the LED backlight or LED strips can sometimes cause colour problems. If the phosphors on the LED lights flakes off, it can change the white light to a blue tint. TO CHECK: Perform a flashlight test (shine a flashlight at the screen while it’s on) to check if the backlight is the cause. If the image is dim, the backlight probably need replacing.

Please add etv win application in latest webos version

FYI: This site is ONLY a user to user support forum, for LG WebOS TV users/owners. It is NOT associated with LG, and has no direct communication with LG, it is only for enthusiasts to help each other with suggestions, and to share ideas about settings and technical workarounds etc. You really need to contact the ETV app developers, as even LG will not do anything unless they have an LG compatible app to use. -

LG TV won't connect to EE Router
td47 replied to elixir101's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
Sound like the same garbage that Sky Broadband Shield have been doing, on their routers. It also was blocking Teams (Skype Replacement) on a relatives laptop, Best to disable that if your sky router has it active. -

@offoak If you read the site headline, you will see it says "User to user forum". It has NO direct connection OR influence over what LG supports or not, or develops or not. You will have to pressure LG directly, in your country, or use some sort of USB device with the APP on it. -
LG WebOs only 1080 SDR

Please quote model number and firmware level, and if it is connected via an AVR and set-top-box, and if using eARC. Model numbers of those might help narrow down the issue, plus what is the HDMI connection order between devices. -
Does your AVR/Amp not have HDMI? If so connect it to/from the eARC socket on TV. Use external sound only on TV sound settings.
-
I cannot believe that since eARC was released in 2017, 8 years later we are STILL seeing posts like this. The standards have been in place long enough to get the TV and AVR companies to get their collective heads together, and ensure that their firmware (and HDMI Chip-sets) work seamlessly together, and that design AND coding standards are FULLY adhered to. I would also have thought that 8 years is enough time to iron out any timing and race conditions in the firmware. Any hassles like these only serve to deter customers from buying any TV and AVR products that do not work well. I have seen other posts about firmware updates actually CAUSING issues like this, rather than properly fixing bugs. Not just LG of course, but you would think that the bigger players would put more effort into testing with more varied configurations before releasing new firmware. It cannot be a profit excuse, as LG made KRW 3.42 Trillion (about 2.5T USD) in 2024!

This is NOT an LG site, only a user to user support site. Try one of these, for watching camera footage on a phone or PC/Laptop: https://appstore.hikvision.com/

Where was it stored, and what were the minimum and maximum temperatures there? The reason I ask, is that electronic components have a maximum storage temperature, as well as a min and max operating temperature. There will be NO MIL SPEC components in a domestic device, so some degradation may have occurred, or even static damage (ESD) from a nearby storm. -
@wallyricks You may be correct that a Windows Update has made this start to occur. Both Windows 10 and 11 have been beefing up security a lot recently, to stop bad/buggy executables and apps from compromising the system. It is possible that the LG SmartShare program has "got away with it" for some time, and as you say, best to choose a better, more up-to-date app.
-
FYI: the error code 0XC0000374 is a HEAP CORRUPTION in the program you are running, in this case the LG SmartShare program. The error is picked up by the OS Kernel (the NT Kernel internals part that looks after bad memory allocations, de-allocations, and buffer overflows, and invalid pointers). Basically it is a bug in the LG SmartShare program, and when it crashes, it most likely reverts to default settings, that turns the sharing off. You will need to report it direct to LG, this site is ONLY a user to user forum If you want an in-depth read, check this out: https://www.twingate.com/blog/glossary/heap corruption

This site is NOT run or controlled by LG, it is ONLY a user to user support forum. You need to raise a request with LG company in your region.

Cannot select Optical + TV output if eARC is plugged in
td47 replied to starwoodtech's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
This may well be the TV firmware working as designed. You might want to try turning off the SIMPLINK (cec control) in the HDMI settings. However, if you have the Soundbar coming on when the TV turns on, you might lose that facility, and have to turn it on seperately.- 3 replies

webos Issues with LG TV and weird WiFi behaviour
td47 replied to a question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
Ignore my comment about the Netgear? You obviously ned a VDSL modem! Try disabling IPV6 protocol on both, as you only really need IPV4 in most home networks. Older TV sets might be a problem trying to negotiate IPV6. -

Your model needs to be on this list (I don't think that 43" model is, unless it is a UHD UR model): https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/how-to-use-airplay-what-lg-tvs-support-airplay-2-CT10000020-20151097893431 Ensure the Mac and the TV are BOTH on the 2.4GHz OR 5GHz WiFi SSIDS. -
Annoying problem on certain BBC programmes
td47 replied to Birkso's question in LG webOS Smart TV Questions
Do you have any devices connected via HDMI? For example a DVD player, or a set-top-box or PVR? If so, check the cables are not low spec or bad. I had that exact issue, and it was an old/cheap HDMI cable, and even when NOT using that port, it would affect a TV channel display. -
Looks like it is CDT, except for a couple of western counties in Texas that use MT (Mountain Time). See: https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/cdt

I have an old 4K LG from 2015 that works fine with my Yamaha, EXCEPT for no sound (video stream is fine) from the FETCH Mighty when turning on the TV. Luckily the Yamaha RX-V385 AVR has SCENE buttons on the remote, and I set up the TV button to all the correct inputs, outputs, and sound to recognise the FETCH box properly. I use a tweaked DPL-MOVIE decoder set up for the TV scene button. It is 1 extra step after turning on the TV, waiting for the AVR to initialise, then turn on the FETCH box, then the scene button press, but we are used to that now. This could well be a timing issue with the firmware (TV or FETCH box), as NO software is 100%.
-
@Bevb Go to the TV HDMI settings, ensure HDMI-CEC (called SIMPLINK on LG's) is turned on, and ensure it is ALSO on for the Yamaha.

@Susovan Mondal Many owners think that Smart TV's are similar to PC's, or Android Phones, and that you can install any available APP. However, you can ONLY install the apps you see in your LG STORE for YOUR TV model, in YOUR country/region. There are many reasons for it, mostly down to hardware limitations, and OS limitations, AND it requires the APP developers to develop them for the specific model series, and WEBOS level capability. Copyright and DRM also come into play, as not all manufacturers have the same licencing deals.
