  1. Well improved voice control is coming on models with LGs latest processors, so it probably is not going to be available on earlier models I would have thought. http://www.lgnewsroom.com/2018/01/lg-lays-groundwork-for-tv-of-tomorrow-with-thinq-and-α-alpha-processor/ As for Google integration:
  2. Yes, but that is sort of the point. YouTube, Plex and Amazon are the most frequently used apps on my TV. I cannot recall Amazon ever restarting, Plex has not had an issue since about five revisions ago and even then it was only once or twice. YouTube has been the most unstable app, which to me says it is more of a programming than an OS/hardware issue. The latest YouTube update hit my TV a couple of days ago and currently it has been behaving itself, having watched over nearly hours worth of videos without an issue.
  3. It seems that many SMART TV users, not just those of webOS, have a bit of a disconnect between expectation and reality. They fail to do any research on a product before its purchase then complaining when it does not do what they think it should. At this point in time the Smart TV is not being designed to be a direct replacement for desktops, laptops or mobile devices. Many of the feature that users mistakenly believe they will find in webOS are not present in other Smart TV platforms. Yes the webOS browser is basic, but I doubt it was ever intended to replace fully fledged browser offerings such as Firefox. The main complaint raised with the browser is lack of Flash support, but as even Adobe has said they are killing it off why would LG go to the bother of integrating it? Some content providers are not producing apps for webOS as they are still wedded to Flash being technically unable or unwilling to move to newer technologies that would make it easier for them to migrate their product to an app or allow users to use a browser to access their media. If you wanted the functionality of Android TV then maybe a Sony Bravia would have been a better purchase than LG, if you wanted voice control then Samsung would have been the way to go.
  4. The method shown in the link was for LG's old Netcast system and not webOS, apps from the two systems are incompatible. What app are you trying to install?
  5. I am not aware of any large volume Smart TV manufacturer that provides support for using their TVs as a PDF reader, that is not what they are really geared towards doing. None of the main stream manufacturers are going to suddenly switch to Android TV, firstly they want you to use their ecosystem and secondly they do not want to be at the mercy of Google who have been known to change their mind on products now and again. Have you thought of screen sharing from a mobile device?
  6. O aplicativo HBO GO é dependente da região, e está disponível na loja de aplicativos LG para sua região somente se a HBO concordou com isso. Espero que isso seja lógico para você enquanto eu estou traduzindo isso usando o Google.
  7. One app in particular or all of them?
  8. LG don't build the apps (unless I'm guessing they're offered lots of cash to do so) it is down to the content providers to do so.
  9. Well Spotify stopped updating their webOS app early last year, and their web offering does not recognise/work in the webOS browser.
  10. The browser in LG webOS does have support HTML5, although admittedly not on the same level as say Firefox or Opera. You can test the browser at www.html5test.com LG are not in the business of building web browsers they are in the business of building a software platform that is there to run apps created by content providers. It is Spotify that needs urging to sort out their software.
  11. Hi Dianne, Just checked the Spotify forum and there are complaints from March 2017 about the failure of the app to be updated, so someone isn't getting the lead out and sorting things. Bad Spotify.
  12. LG do not produce the apps for webOS it is down to the content providers to do so.
  13. LG do not produce apps (in general) for the platform so it is down to content providers to do so. I am sure that LG is happy to work with 3rd parties to help guide them in producing apps.
  14. Sadly LG do not make the apps for webOS that is the responsibility of the the service provider. Most likely they do not have the staff in house to create an app, so the alternative would be to encourage them to work with and pay LG to produce the app.
  15. Currently no it is not possible, who knows what webOS 4.0 will bring though.
  16. Well you could add a Gigabit connection, but there is little point as even a 4K stream will run happily over 100Mbps connection. Recommendations for 4K runs between 13 and 25Mbps depending on which streaming service you believe. https://help.netflix.com/en/node/306 https://help.hulu.com/s/article/requirements-for-hd?language=en_US Yes if you have multiple users streaming 4K a Gigabit network might be advisable, but it does not mean that you need a Gigabit port on the device you are streaming to.
  17. Hi, Sorry not to reply sooner been down with viral flu, but back in the world now. The TV is this one: http://www.lg.com/uk/support/support-product/lg-49UH650V Yes I can try it on a wired connection, but not until the middle of this coming week. I'll let you know the results.
  18. I would imagine that it is more a case the iFlix have not submitted an app to LG rather than Netflix blocking them.
  19. LG while creating and managing the webOS platform they do not (the majority of the time) produce any apps for the platform. It is down to content providers to create an app for their programming. So while it is nice to be able to come to a forum to ask for an app and others can show their support as well, user really need to engage directly with content providers. It is always useful to point content providers to this forum to help show them that there is a healthy appetite for their services though. Also it should be remembered that this forum is a user to user site, not an LG to user site.
  20. HBO is regional, for instance it is not available in the UK as SKY TV has the rights to their content.
  21. Plex's app for webOS works perfectly, of course you will have to set up a back-end server to use it.
  22. HBO Go appears to be region dependant going by the many other threads in the forum.
  23. It is webOS, it does that. One forum (https://www.lgwebos.com/profile/18098-leigh/) member has been told by LG support that this behaviour is deliberate, if you have a look at Liegh's posts you find the explanation.
