  1. I'm sure if you look at the many other identical posts on the subject you will find your answer.
  2. Can you post a picture of the screen so we can see what you mean?
  3. Has anyone checked to see who actually produces the app, LG or HULU?
  4. As a rule of thumb LG do not develop the apps for webOS, that is the purview of the content providers. Plus this a user to user forum and there is no guarantee that LG even looks at forum such as this one, although if they have any sense they will. There is a sticky post with a link to the LG portal where you can detail the problems you are having. Add in to your communication with them all the relevant details of your TV, firmware and the release version of any relevant apps. Make it clear you are a member of this forum and that you will detail what responses you get from them here. That way at least it is made clear that you are not one person alone who they can ignore.
  5. From May 2016: http://www.lg.com/uk/support/product-help/CT00008334-1435838149474-web-browser-specifications-operation The information is out there....
  6. The browser in webOS is meant for basic browsing it was never meant to replace apps to consume content. You can go and look at Samsung forums and find exactly the same complaints about the Tizen web browser. I am not sure why you would watch YouTube through the web browser when there is an app available.
  7. You cannot install Flash on webOS, it is never going to happen especially as Adobe are scrapping it in a couple of year time. Plus the browser is unique to webOS and is not Chrome, but yes it does use I believe use WebKit so theoretically you might be able to hack Google Pepper Flash to work. Encourage content providers to move to a modern technology such as HTML5.
  8. Can you point us to the particular support page you used to contact Amazon?
  9. I would guess that it is more a case of Apple not playing ball.
  10. When you say that you are unable to download the app do you mean from the LC Content Store or somewhere else?
  11. Glad to hear you have got things sorted out.
  12. Hi sphinxrb, I agree that LG should be doing a lot more to get content providers on-board, even if LG developed the apps and the providers paid them to do it. At least if that sort of set up was in place when LG updated webOS they would (in theory) know what to update in the apps themselves. On the Adobe Flash front however I am sorry but it is such a prehistoric piece of software that is hugely complicated to programme for and is riddled with bugs. HTML5 has usurped Flash's position in the market place, it is just that people are wedded to it and cannot seem to move on to a product that is less problematic, is simpler to produce content for and has less overheads both on the front and backends.
  13. Hi, Assuming yours is the model listed in the following link then unfortunately Plex is a no-go as your unit does no have the requirements to undertake transcoding: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/27039/how-to-install-plex-in-netgear-stora-ms2110 Like PeterV I'm not using Plex on a NAS; but on a standalone server set up.
  14. To my knowledge there is no way to set up a VPN on webOS, possibly you could do so on your modem instead.
  15. Apps are often dependant on geographical location, first you need to find out if it is available in your area.
  16. Can't stream because the app is not working, or the app is unavailable?
  17. What sound problem are you experiencing?
  18. Flash is a notoriously fickle programme to support, so many hardware and software providers (not just LG) do not support it and have not done so for years (see Apple). Plus Flash is a dying technology: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-40716304 So the answer I am afraid is to badger the content providers to move to twenty first century technologies sooner rather than later. Remember HTML5 is your friend.
  19. I used Serviio but soon moved to Plex as it seemed to be (at the time, 2+ years ago) a more rounded solution. What NAS do you have, possibly it may support Plex and/or Serviio?
  20. According to the following review it is USB 2.0 compatible: https://www.personal-reviews.com/2017/05/lg-43uj701v-review/ Obviously a USB 3.0 drive will work off of it of course.
  21. There is a lot of confusion over the HBO GO app. There is an app available, but it is seems to be dependant on your geographical location and possibly the firmware version of your TV. Possibly contacting HBO direct to see if it should be available to you would be a good starting place.
  22. There is not, to my knowledge, an adblocker built in to the webOS browser. I suspect the problem is that the sites you are visiting are not recognising the browser's userAgent String; or the sites rely heavily on Adobe Flash. In the case of the userAgent String being unrecognised this is an issue the website needs to address. If it is a Flash issue then that too will be something for the website needs to address as support is unlikely ever be added to the browser. The reason for this is twofold Flash is a terrible product constantly changing requiring re-writes of the browser and also the biggest reason is that Adobe has said they will kill off the product sometime in the near future. Details on the webOS browser: http://webostv.developer.lge.com/discover/specifications/webos-tv-platform/web-engine/ As the browser is based around WebKit getting a website to work with it should be a breeze, outside of Flash of course.
  23. I have been using my £14 allreli u8 headphones successfully with my UH650V.
  24. Can you let the forum know the model of your TV, which software version of webOS it is running and what device you are running the Plus app on?
