Can model 55uj701v be downgrade from 05.80.25 to 04.70.70 as now the TV become unstable? It losses the internet connection (Ethernet cable), it looses the connection with the magic remote... It is like hell now.

ALL LG TVs can be downgraded. But I am the only one who knows how to do it without "hacks" :D

Hello All, I’m new on this forum and I thank you all for your support.

I have a 49UJ634V and I updated to 04.70.70, reading on LG Italy website I found 05.80.25 released on April 2019, what do you think about this version? Do you suggest me to update to the new one, or maybe it is unstable and better stay with the actual one?

I read quite few pages of this 3D, but all information and suggestion are more then welcomed.

Thanks :)

Don't update. No real advantages in 4.80.25.

Thanks Zibri for your reply.

I have another question for you guys, since I don’t update to the newer sw version, TV is reminding me every time I turn it on that a new version is available. How can I stop it bothering me, I’m scared I’ll press yes once...

I also have the same question as the above poster....is there a way to stop the damm update notification question that pops up every time I turn on the C7 OLED TV?

It asks me to update to version 05.80.15 every time I turn on the TV. Surely there must be a way (except updating), or are we required to hit "no" for as long as we own the TV´s?

I updated the Australian software on my LG E7 OLED to 05.80.15 and now the colours are all washed out on my 4k set top box ! (Foxtel iq4 with HDMI deep true colour activated) When I set the resolution to 1080p it's ok, but when the resolution is set to 2160p I get washed out colours ... Reds are Orange etc. Before the update it was fine.

I believe this firmware has an issue with 4k 50hz devices plugged into where the BT.2020 colour space is incompatible. As when I set my Apple TV to 4k 50hz I get the washed out colours as well.

We are waiting for a new firmware. A famous blogger said to me that LG has fixed this issue and and a new update is rolling out soon.

Oh that would be very great if LG stepped up to the plate and made things right.  I hope its true?

Maybe LG should stop rolling out these firmware updates when they have achieved a somewhat stable TV, since every new update seems to break more than it fixes.

Per me adesso è ok,

Ah ok... saraà che sulla mia la 5.80.25 esisteva da tempo e la beta è 5.80.30 da tipo 3 mesi.

As I see this is an active topic, I'm going to ask here. Does anyone know if LG is going to solve the problem with video playback and subtitles? The problem of not being able to play any subtitle other than srt that must be placed next to the video file with the same name. I have read several issues about it and they are old, so I am surprised that LG has not resolved this so far, I recently bought one.

Is there any workaround to fix this?

Hello, I have a tv lg 55uj6585. This week she updated to version 05.80.15.
After that the wifi is disconnected.
I would like to know if there is any way to return the previous version, or if someone could dispense the file from the previous version, 05.80.10.

I already searched the forum, but I did not find it.

I used to be able to surf to OPB.org using WebOs on my LG Smart TV and watch the Livestream with no problem. But about a year ago something changed and the Livestream became covered up by the programming grid (with a little bit showing above the grid) and nothing I can do removes it. Is there a way to watch PBS on my LG Smart TV?

Please take steps to include Airtel Xtream Play app in WebOS Content Store!
In India everyone is using Airtel network and Xtream Play as a bundle recharge offer with it!
LG TV is very good and technically advanced! For this mere reason of not having Airtel Xtream Play App, We Customers, need to switch over to other brands!
So, it is mandatory and timely, for LG to make Xtream Play available in WebOS TV, otherwise you have to loose your trusted Customers like us!
         Please think twice and Consider!!!

Hi, my LG webOS TV TN520S is running  software version 05.45.45 and since then the channel 4 and channel 5 apps are broken. You can start to watch a program but as soon as the first set of adverts start, the app just loops and you cant progress past the adverts. I a wondering if this is because the TV is running the latest version of its software (I've searched for newer versions but none are shown). Has anyone else had this problem and is it possible to install a previous version of the TV's software to see if this resolves the problem.

Winners Showcase Family-Friendly Gaming Innovations and
Address the Growing Interest in AI Technologies at LG webOS Summit

SEOUL, Oct. 1, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) announced the winners of its webOS TV platform hackathon, which took place at the LG webOS Summit last week. The event was geared toward AI-based solutions and gaming services, and sought ideas to enhance the gaming category on the Smart TV.
Developers from around the world applied for the opportunity to present their ideas for apps or services to be used on webOS-based LG Smart TVs in millions of homes, with the goal of diversifying and improving the gaming experience on the LG TVs powered by webOS.
Over three hundred entries were submitted from more than 50 countries. Finalists were invited to present their ideas onstage to a panel of LG executives and over 300 market-leading companies. The top three winners received a meaningful opportunity to engage with the LG team to develop their ideas and resources for business implementation on webOS. They will continue to work with the LG team to prepare the family-friendly gaming solutions for LG TVs by June 2025. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three winners of the hackathon, with the Grand Prize of USD 100,000 for first place, USD 80,000 for second place and USD 50,000 for third place.
Grand Prize Winner: The Quest of Sunflower by Couchplay
An epic adventure game based on an AI-generated story, featuring stunning graphics, immersive audio and responsive game play suitable for the whole family.
Second place: Signs of Magic by Lukas Klingsbo
Set in a magical world, this game follows the wizard Elowen as she battles invading creatures known as Astromentals. It integrates LG Magic Remote sensors to create an immersive experience that brings the action to life.
Third place: Thormdeil: Into the Unknown by TV Games
The first single-player RPG developed exclusively for a Smart TV platform, featuring seasonally AI-generated content. Players navigate dark dungeons, face survival challenges and uncover hidden truths.
“The amount of participation and entries we received this year is proof of the growing interest in the AI and gaming categories,” said Chris Jo, senior vice president of platform business at LG Home Entertainment Company. “We’re no longer simply watching television. The developer ecosystem’s role in improving the lives of millions of consumers in their homes is exponential, and LG plans to hold this event annually to foster webOS app developer ecosystem.”
