  1. @Bogan Silver FYI: be VERY careful clicking links on this (or ANY) forum, if you do not know exactly where they go, or if you do NOT have a good anti-virus and anti-malware program running. Some of the things I see here look VERY suspicious. DO NOT take any chances, as the other posts on here DO NOT appear to be giving you any considered/logical advice or answers, so DO NOT click the links. Bluetooth has various connection standards/protocols, and it is a bit of a minefield for old/new device compatibility, and pairing methods, and security layers. It may be a bit clunky and inconvenient, but you may be better off by preparing a USB stick with your songs/videos, off a laptop or PC, then plugging into your TV. The Smartshare APP and built-in player should be able to play them. Other solutions involve DLNA servers (e.g. NAS disks, with PLEX or similar on your home network), and using LG Smartshare or PLEX TV to get them played on your TV.
  2. @peemeagher Check this: https://siptv.app/howto/lg/ and then this if you are in a non-supported country: https://siptv.app/howto/lg/country.html
  3. @Jayprakash Patel This forum is just an enthusiasts pere to peer forum, it it NOT owned or run by LG. If it is NOT in the store, you cannot install it. I suspect this app will only be released in certain countries, and might only appear in the LG Store for later model LG TV's, as it may need minimum WebOS version and hardware facilities restrictions. Check on the MX developer twitter or facebook feed.
  4. @Perry1234 Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like either a TV firmware update has affected the TV negatively in some way, or the Sling TV is buggy on your LG model. Check this out (I cannot view the contents, as I am NOT in the USA): https://help.sling.com/en/support/solutions/articles/46000000217-known-issues
  5. @palswim Interesting and neat (but very technical) thing to do! 😊 I assume you are using the latest Smartshare (33).2.3.1511.1201 ? I always found it very clunky and "old fashioned", and as it has not been updated for over 2 years, I suspect it has bugs, and has fallen behind modern techiques and codec standards and stream processing methods. I noticed on the same LG download site when checking the versions, there is mention of a "plex TV" app or "Plex Media Server", but I am unsure if this is suitable for your needs, or compatible with your DLNA setup? See https://www.plex.tv/ By the way, did you check that all of your DLNA devices have the latest firmware, and software stacks running on them?
  6. @Clipped FYI: the 300mbps sounds very low for a 5Ghz (802.11ac) connection, are you sure it is not the 2.4Ghz WiFi SSID (unless they are combined SSID names, then it is hard to tell with some home routers). Test the WiFi strength and signal with a laptop or smart phone, near where the problematic TV is. If you can log into the router, go to the WiFi advance settings, and ensure the channel number is below 100 for the 5GHz (many LG TV WiFi cards dislike high channels, and SSID names over 8 characters). I find channel 36 works well, and channel 8 for the 2.4GHz.
  7. @philipworthington Glad to be of help, I always find useful info on here, and other users experience, and I often learn something new each time, so it is a useful forum. From this link: http://www.lgnewsroom.com/2020/02/apple-tv-app-and-apple-tv-now-available-on-2019-lg-tvs-in-more-than-80-countries/ I saw this bit, and it seems that the premium OLED TV's might get the Apple TV APP first: "LG TV customers can now enjoy Apple TV in addition to AirPlay 2 and HomeKit on all of LG’s 2019 OLED TVs, NanoCell TVs (series SM9X and SM8X) and later this month, the Apple TV app will roll out on select UHD TVs (series UM7X and UM6X). The Apple TV app and Apple TV+ will be available on 2020 TVs at launch and on LG’s 2018 TVs later this year via an over-the-air firmware upgrade." NOTE: yours is a 2019 model However, while waiting for it to arrive (ensure you have a good WiFi connection for firmware updates and app updates), see if this new "LG Channels" app is available (a partnership between LG and Xumo), as it might suffice in the meantime. https://www.lifewire.com/lg-channel-plus-what-you-need-to-know-4074929 Check on the forum here to see if anyone knows what range of LG it is on (I cannot get it on my old 2014 model, but it MIGHT be available on yours now, being a current model)
  8. @philipworthington Is this a new LG TV? Please post the model you have, and what country you reside in, as not all countries have it yet. I understood though, that the Apple TV APP was coming to new models this year, so if not pre-installed in the TV APP list already (along the bottom, scroll left and rigth to see what is there), look in the LG STORE, and scroll down to see if you can install it. You will need to set up an account of course, once you install it.
  9. @Mike_S The only way to get this sorted out is to contact LG and get them to replace the screen. Static images from playing games, or using a TV as a PC monitor for MANY hours day after day are bad for OLED screens. The red logos from Netflix and YouTube, and TV stations tend to cause burn-in areas if you wach the same programs a lot, as the logos tend to be in the same place. Place a call with your country LG site and see what they say.
  10. @AspieMum It has to be enabled by holding (pressing) the scroll wheel for a couple of seconds, after selecting the app of interest, until you see it change and rise a bit (OR the OK if not a magic remote). Do you NOT see the icon with the 3 forward slashes, like in the article below? https://www.lg.com/uk/support/product-help/CT00008334-1436489022531
  11. @AspieMum Try this: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-delete-apps-on-lg-smart-tvs-4589862
  12. @TyneBridges As you are using a Windows PC, you might want to consider getting the latest Feature Update called 20H2 (it is the one following on from Feature Update "2004" that was supposed tot be 2020 Month 04, but that was late). I hear good reports that it is a very good update, and also makes the "Project Screen" function work well for many smart TV's, including most LG models that are network connected. You can get to this easily by pressing the WIN + P keys together. That way you can control the slide-show and other content from the PC/Laptop side, and use better "apps" or real 32-BIT EXE programs to display stuff better.
  13. @AnonViewer Some UI (User Interfaces) have a "save new settings" or similar banner to click, often at the bottom of settings pages. Check that out in case it is needed, after changing your resolution. If it is still failing to save that new setting, see if there are any software updates (new firmware) for that particular DishNXT HD model.
  14. @Penfold From what I understand, the Sky Plus box is similar to many older Set-Top-Box PVR boxes, in that they do not fully support HDMI-CEC for proper control of connected devices. This is similar to the Foxtel boxes here in Australia, certainly my old iQ2 box is similar, and I hear that even their new iQ4 box is not fully HDMI-CEC compliant. I saw on another forum, tha the Sky Q box SHOULD be OK for doing the Record from the TV Guide, but if you cannot get an upgrade deal (threatening to cancel often gets a result), then consider one of those multi-remote gadgets, I hear that the Harmony Remote will cover most requirements. If you DO decide on the Harmony Remote, I think that HDMI-CEC needs to be off on your TV HDMI setings options.
  15. @mohanad Ibrahim From what I can see so far, the cause is that the Vestel manufactured LED backlight strips turn blue after some time, and can then fail completely. These are what produces the white brightness behind the coloured pixel leds. These were supplied to MANY TV manufacturers for a time, so many brands and models may get this. If you are from the UK, you might be able to claim on the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (the item must be fit for purpose for 6 years). See: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/445366/Why+does+everything+have+a+blue+tint for background. See this site for replacements, but be warned, the TV will need a very complex strip-down to get at the screen internal "guts" where these bars are that will need replacing (see the Youtube video - you will need some good expertise and care to do it). The parts are around £65, more for genuine LG, so could easily be £150 - £250 plus for an TV tech to do it. BARS: https://tvledbars.com/?s=43uj630v-ta&post_type=product TYPICAL HOW-TO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5Zyqowl6zg
  16. @LG user 42LB6500-TH Just to clarify: 1) are you using an AV Receiver for sound/surround sound? 2) Did any of the input devices USED to work before, or has the "problem" just occurred? 3) Did the issue start just after the update to 05.05.55? 4) Does the Live TV, or other APPS on the TV work correctly for sound and video? SUGGESTION: Remove all devices, unplug the TV from mains power, hold its power button for 30 seconds, plug TV back to power, then check each input device individually, either using the HDMI ARC, or an input for DVD players, sometimes marked "BD". If one device works in one socket, experiment with the other one to see which input works best. If you DO use an AV Receiver amp, then you will need to plug those devices into the input sockets of your AVR, and retest (but bear in mind that not all units are HDMI-CEC compliant, so you may need to turn HDMI-CEC off for those devices, and the AVR HDMI Port.
  17. @AndreasW In the meantime, after researching @George Hofmeister excellent feedback, have you thought of using a laptop, and controlling the YT app from there, and using the Windows 10 "project screen" functionality? It won't be ideal, but hopefully more controllable and less buggy that on the TV directly. NOTE: I have had feedback that users need to update the Windows 10 OS to the latest feature Upgrade (that is 20H2 that some call the "October Update"), as it will make the Screen Mirroring (Project Screen) work better for more TV types. The name 20H2 means the update for "second half of 2020" as they went away from YYYYMM naming strings, as the release time-frame could not always be done in the month intended. If your device or country/area cannot get that update yet, update to the older "2004" May update and try the Project Screen,, Failing that, try using an HDMI cable connection, if your PC/Laptop device has an HDMI socket.
  18. @leader6234 You can check your signal and cable with one of these (from $10 or so): https://www.ebay.com.au/b/Sat-TV-Signal-Finder-TV-Signal-Finders/67882/bn_7029675674?rt=nc&_sop=15
  19. @123telford123 I think @George Hofmeister is asking if you have paired the speaker to the TV. Older sets cannot do this, the blutooth is used mainly for the Magic Remote. Please post the TV model, some later models may have more functionality with BlueTooth . Check your manual or TV specs.
  20. @Freewheelin37 The TV browsers are not really designed for "fully functioning" web browsing and password management (none have a proper "password manager" as far as I know). They are really for casual browsing only. They have never been designed to be "PC Replacements" although many people try to use them like that, and are dissapointed when they find that they cannot download and update "apps" and browsers like a PC or phone can. Some owners even ask if they can upgrade the TV's memory! The best way to use your Internet Web accounts, is to use your PC/Laptop, download a GOOD browser like Firefox, that has an EXCELLENT password manager built in, and will even detect password fields for new accounts setups, and suggest very secure random password strings, that you can save for every account, (and once saved you can edit any via an excellent User interface (UI )). Logging into any of thos accounts will automatically bring up the correct user name and login (even if on seperate pages for most sites).
  21. @Roadrunner99 If the 05.80.55 firmware loads, installs, and the TV works OK, stick with that. I believe that any WebOS updates (if applicable) would come "bundled" with any valid Firmware update that is compatible with the models it is designed for. I understand that the TV hardware (chip-sets and CPU and memory capabilities) are the main limiting factor for having WebOS updates (or not). Some older TV's (2014 - 2015) models had a stripped-down WebOS V4 called 3.5 Lite, but LG do not have the money and resources to bring tailored WebOS releases to every TV variant from say 2013 - 2016, just to get few featured and software/app compatibilities, when the main "new features" can only be supported by later hardware "chip-sets" on the motherboards of the 2019/2020 sets (that cover later hardware and software standards and protocols) that will work properly WITH those new/later WebOS levels (e.g. WebOS 5.x). Remember that specifications (HDMI eARC, device and IoT support) and functionality and protocols are changing all the time, and much of that has to be embodied INSIDE the chip-sets in the hardware itself, and NOT emulated in software, as it is inefficient and slows down performance. See this link for some old complaints about WebOS lack of updates: https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1452513673
  22. @Neil gunn Yes, I have seen this reported a lot to, for many different LG models. They tend to use the same very small module, about the size of a large postage stamp! I never suffered from a WiFi issue with my TV room, as it is a "wired room" (has a LAN Ethernet cable direct to the Router). I split that into 4 connections in the HiFi cabinet (for Foxtel box, TV, spare for Laptop) via a comms SWITCH (modern smart version of a HUB), cost only $20 (D-LINK switches work well). However, that little module ALSO supports the magic Remote Bluetooth buttons, and mine broke after a thunderstorm a few months back. I found that the "LG TV PLUS" app on my Android phone works great as a temporary workaround for that issue, until I can get eldest son down here to help get TV lifted off the wall bracket to replace the module.
  23. @Roadrunner99 There is always a risk using software the might not be well tested for a specific TV and country mix. Also, the HOTSTAR could have bugs of its own, when used on certain TV models. I would say it could be a 50/50 chance that the Hotstar app has bugs, and the firmware has bugs.
  24. @Steve Marks Thanks for confirming the model is an LG UK model 43LM6300PLA At https://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-43LM6300PLA shows under "Additional Feature" it shows Time Machine and other DVR related stuff: Additional Feature Time Machine (DVR): Yes Digital Recording: Yes Analog DVR: Yes Time Shift: Yes So, in theory this COULD be done, BUT you mention FreeSat. I am not familiar with this, only FreeView+ HBB stuff. Have you tried the normal antenna FTA (digital Freeview+) channels from the normal antenna? Those certainly work on my Australian LG 55UB850T. Can you tune those in, and recheck if you can set up (initialise) the HDD disk for Time Machine use?
