  1. I think most online sites/videos are being pushed to go the HTML5 route which is why there is a loss of development for Flash compatibility. The push would be to make it HTML5 or build an app for it.
  2. I read that article and I think you have to take it with a grain of salt. Sounds to me like there are creative and directional distances at all levels which happens when you have buyouts and mergers. Either they will screw it up or it will be successful. It's really up to them. Losing some of the designers is not good either although maybe the plan was to change it to adapt to a smart tv and they would take it from there. What "there" is, is scary.
  3. From the LG developer's site a popup comes up: http://developer.lge.com USB App Test with webOS TV FHD model is not working now The webOS TV FHD model with latest software is not working with USB App Test now. We are now fixing it. Please wait until we notify again. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Thank you. LG Developler site Team.
  4. From the article located here: http://pivotce.com/2014/08/18/lg-tests-webos-on-a-nexus-5/ Here is something very interesting. If you are not sure what you are looking at, It’s the code repository of Open-webOS. That’s the code originally released by Hewlett Packard and developed by LG electronics. What it shows is webOS being tested on a Nexus 5. Maybe a phone is in the works?
  5. New Firmware Boosts Picture Quality on LG UB850V 4K TV http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/ub850v-201408123879.htm
  6. Not sure if anyone had a palm pre when webos first came out and was at version 1.0, but if you compare that to a palm pre 2 and the later versions of webos, it's night and day. Just like any OS, it's bound to get better.
  7. Trusted Reviews wrote an article that is a good read about what to expect ate CES 2015: http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/ces-2015-what-to-expect One expectation is... Google also announced at the time that it had reached agreements with Sony, Sharp, and Philips to include Android TV in their 2015 HDTV ranges. As such, we're expecting to see a whole bunch of top end TV sets running on Android TV at CES 2015. Don't expect Samsung and LG to join the Android TV party just yet though. Both Korean manufacturers are keen to push their own platforms. With Samsung known to be looking to reduce its reliance on Google, LG last year introduced its new webOS TV platform, the undoubted leader of the current group.
  8. I would like to see a new LG webOS tablet with the latest webOS for TVs loaded.

  10. Topic moved to webOS TVs → LG Store TV webOS Apps forum.
  11. Correct, this is a webOS enthusiast forum, LG has a developer forum you mentioned above if you are a developer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  12. Hopefully first generation webOS TVs will get updated to second generation. I would think they should. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  13. What brand is your webcam? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  14. I believe there is a change log on LG's site, I have to look though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  15. Correct, this site is not owned by LG but I'm sure they see all these topics. They have reached out as well on Facebook. I imagine their marketing team scopes the web for feedback and customer reviews. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  16. Didn't Android TV just get announced? Google TV has been around but never really took off. I think that with any first release there are going to be some issues, but with 1 million+ TVs sold, I'm sure there will be improvements. Based on the info we have, LG is already working on the next version of webOS for 2015. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
  17. The logo of this site now included a webOS TV, we figured it was about time to add the next generation device to the main imagery of this forum.
  18. Great feature request. LG will be updating webOS, so maybe!
  19. WSJ has an interesting article to read on how they are integrating Silicon Valley into LG. http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/06/27/how-lg-is-integrating-the-webos-team/ "LG’s existing software team of Koreans were experts in TV manufacturing, while the WebOS team from Silicon Valley had more experience developing apps and user interfaces for mobile devices."
  20. There are numerous articles that have popped up stating that LG plans to go full force and have all its TVs powered by webOS in 2015. In addition, LG plans to release an updated version of webOS as well. Sounds like LG is going "all in". WSJ is reporting that other home devices may be powered by webOS as well and it hoped to get ahead with developers and app development for webOS: http://online.wsj.com/articles/lg-plans-to-use-webos-software-to-power-all-internet-connected-tvs-next-year-1403777631 CNET is reporting similar: http://www.cnet.com/news/lg-plans-new-webos-for-all-of-its-2015-smart-tvs/ Tech Times as well: http://www.techtimes.com/articles/9259/20140626/lg-readying-new-webos-for-future-smart-tvs.htm
  21. Welcome leftydiscord, from what we have seen posted by others, older models will not get an upgrade. Hopefully that will change.
