Since this update the Apple TV 4K can no longer connect to Dolby via HDMI.  Immediately prior to this update - it worked.

Now, if you attempot to connect and set it to Dolby - the screen flashes the Apple TV screen on and off - it can't stabilze.

This happened immdeiately after the update.

Can I revert back to the prior software?  Or, can you send me a version that does not have this issue.

I am experiencing the same thing. I was watching a show in Dolby Vision and stepped away for a bit. The tv restarted and the new software installed. Immediately after, I got the same unstable picture. I had to switch Apple TV to 4K HDR to finish watching the same show I had been watching in Dolby Vision a few minutes earlier. Very frustrating!

Just wanted to jump on and say I have the exact same issue:

Apple TV 4K (2021) + LG C9 + webOS version 05.10.04 + Dolby Vision

It ends up in random and regular black flashes and the Dolby vision logo appearing on the top right.

Hi, I have the exact same problem, also going through a Denon AVR.

The update broke something, always worked fine until then. I hope the issue gets to LG so they can fix it quickly but until now support blames my internet connexion (fiber lol) and refuses to acknowledge the problem...

On the Denon, if you enable "Pass Through" of the ATV while in standby mode - you can select Dolby on the ATV and the C9 accepts.

Guessing LG made a change that affects HDMI communication with the Denon since it was working fine immediately prior to the update.

I have a ticket open with LG - they said their sofware enginners would get back in a couple of days.  If I get a resposne i'll post it here.

Having the exact same issue since i did the update today. Enabling Dolby Vision causes massiv screen flickering. Absolut desaster.

tried different cables, inputs…

LG messed it up. Unfortunalty not the first time (since half a year 4k 120hz aint working with nvidia 3000 generation. They know it. they are „working on it“.)

i hope there will be a fix soon.

setup:

LG C9.
Denon Receiver.

I received the 5.10.04 update to my C9 today.  I am in the US.  The update immediately broke Dolby Vision where it flickers and the screen cuts out like it constantly connects and disconnects from the Dolby stream.  It is worse with 60fps content vs 24fps.  I have a 2019 nVidia Shield Pro and Panasonic UB820 running through a Sony STR DN1080 with 48gbps certified HDMI across the board.  I have had no issues with Dolby Vision until this update.  Please fix or at least let us roll back to the previous firmware.

Enabling pass through of the ATV, I still got a black screen after 3 minutes of watching a video. Seems random, could be every 30 secondes or every few minutes.

LG Support is a desaster…

I reported them about the issue. They answered my with a „no reply“ E-Mail Adress and said they need proof. But i could not reply, because the e-mail doesnt allow it *facepalm*

So i contacted them again and put a link to this discussion it.

I refuse to believe that nobody at LG has an Apple TV or nvidia Shield to test this issue….

I'm also running into this issue ... very frustrating for a television that's often used with receivers/apple tv's, that means they don't do a lot of testing before they push out firmware updates.

LG needs to fix the broken Dolby Vision when connecting via an AVR. Seems that Pioneer issued an update. Connection Denon/Marantz is broken. @LG test your updates before pushing them to aTV. We do not need crapy updates. We can wait until the tests are done

If you haven’t already contacted LG you should. The more that complain the faster they’ll fix it. The wheel that squeaks get the oil. My affected receiver is a Sony STRDH790 7.2 Channel AV Receiver. My LG TV looks like crap without Dolby Vision. I even complained to the President of LG, which you can through their website.

Same issue, but an interesting wrinkle with mine.  LG C9, same update as everyone and Dolby Vision is broken between my Apple TV 4K and Denon AVR.

what is interesting is Dolby Vision runs just fine between my Sony UHD player running through the same Denon to the same TV.

So it has to be something specific to the LG and the Apple TV 4K (I have the 2021 Apple TV 4K by the way).

Well shit.. like i said. Nvidia shield here.. so not specific. Works fine directly connected to my 77c9. But not working like it should while going through my Denon receiver.

Hi - Is your Sony output Dolby?

Opened a case today, 19-Jun-2021, with LG support. Some additional information:

- My setup:  internet <- cat5 -> Roku Ultra HDR 4K UHD  <- HDMI -> Denon AVR-S960H <- HDMI -> LG OLED

- I'd recommend using LG chat. Email results in typical "reset this, reset that". You'll need model and serial number of TV.  Email response from LG stated that chat is only open M-F. but someone did respond today (Saturday). Open cases!

- I had the LG rep add the link to this thread to the escalation ticket.

      Hi,
I have a OLED77C34LA and a pair Bose QC32 II headphones and I have trouble connecting to the tv.
First the headphones works good on my other three devices but the TV has trouble, when I manage to connect they work perfect but when I turn the off on on again the headphones will say they are connected to the TV but the TV most of the time won't give me an option to connect and I remember I got a popup asking if I wanted the use the headphones as output but only for like 3-4 times so far.
Usually I have to plug the power out of the TV for a while and remove the bluetooth device but and it doesn't always work. It's not great spending like 15min to get the headphones to work.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

I've just updated my LG 55UM75 TV to the latest software version - 05..20.15 - and now the picture looks off.
I've turned off TruMotion, Motion Eye Care, Smooth Gradation, Noise Reduction and Smooth Gradation, but somehow everything still looks artificial.
Is there another picture setting I'm missing, I've gone through every setting I can find.

      Hi there,

I have an LG smart TV OLED65G36LA (LG OS v03.20.17, webOS TV version 8.20.0-710) , and the Prime Video App was no longer able to update (from Dec 2025) and therefore could no longer be used.
I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing, and that was unable to work, so then applied a full reset on the LG TV and so had to reinstall all of my other apps (Apple TV, Netflix, etc etc) which all successfully downloaded so confirmed network connections and setup are all confirmed working.
When I try to download the Prime Video app, it remains stuck on the download screen and is unable to update.
      Thanks

      Hi,
Since updating our OLED65G2PSA to 23.20.56, we experience sprodadic issues with the network where any app requiring network access shows the generic 'no network access' message.
I have found that when this does happen, I can still PING the TV and connect to IP based web pages.  To fix I can either power cycle the TV or I can go into network settings and toggle off/on 'Set automatically' which must just be triggering something in the underlying OS to reload its DNS service.
Setting a static IP makes no difference, setting a static DNS server makes no difference - it is clearly a software issue.  We have had a TV repair company come and replace the boards, which worked right up untill updating to 23.20.56 and beyond.

Has anyone else experienced this, does anyone have a solution ?

i've updated an oled 42C3 to software version 33.22.80 and after this update some videos doesn't work anymore, last week no problem. I have other videos with the same format and codecs and work, so i don't have any idea what can be the issue.
