Call LG support. It is not normal. They should send an engineer to check what is going on. Also, perform a factory reset and try again. I know it is cumbersome because you will have to redo all picture settings but it is worth a try.

Can you attach an external HDMI Hard Drive to extend the storage capacity on a LG Smart TV? I have a 49UB8500? I have a 500GB HDD that I currently have connected to my HD DVR for extra storage.

I've just purchased the Skylanders battlegrounds pack for My new LG 42LB730 and according to the TV I have 973MB of space and the game needs 1062MB. I've tried to use a USB stick for extra storage but I can't get the TV to use it for that. How can I use this version of the game developed to work specially with the WebOS system when the TV itself can't take it? I've tried the factory reset and it's up to date on the firmware.

It's not 4.2 GB, it's wrong information, the size is 1GB, you can know this by lg customer support or by going to lg store in the tv and trying to install a app, it will show you the memory below the instalation status.

No,the memory issue is happening to everyone who has a Lg TV running the WebOS, it is caused by an unprofessional programming that leads to a memory leakage, as you can compare to their old OS Netcast, you could watch everithing on the web browser and it even had flash player, lg is going backwards because their new OS the WebOS, so called the fastest TV OS by LG is a shit for me, i bought lg TV because i wanted to watch movies in the web browser but it doesn't do what it's pourpose is, if you only want to watch youtube and use facebook, you can buy a BluRay player wich supports it, don't buy a LG smart TV.

Hello,

I have the same problem - new LG TV cannot install Skylanders: Battlegrounds (bundled with the TV, OMG!) due to low space.

How can I solve it? Factory reset did not help.

OMG I have the exact same problem! I bought the 47LB731V lg tv and it came with the Skylanders battlegrounds. I tried to download it and there wasn't enough space. I put a usb memory stick and when the download finished it gave me an error message. I have tried three different usb sticks and hdds and it always shows the same error! Does anyone know how do I fix it?

To fix the problem with all smart tvs is for the factory to install at least 64 G of ram on all tvs as with my phone  i have 64 g of ram and it still could use more but that would be to smart for them

i can not see why the cost would be the issue ram is cheep now a days ,Next time you buy a smart tv ask how much ram it has if it dont have 64 g and it wont dont buy it  they will shortly fix the issue  1 g is just a toy.

I got a android pad w 8 gig of ram toy junk i got a android 16 g ram better still ran out of memory then a android with 32 g works rely good 64 g would be best for most devices   Get Smart ask before you buy I do now .a smart tv should be smart not to cheep .

Why not use you LG as a non smart tv? Buy a chromecast/apple tv/fire stick or whatever you like and install all your apps on it.

      hi, Friends,

i have finally fixed the HDMI ARC issue.
Apparently some people also had the same issue and couldnt figure out whats wrong.
After reading through AVSForums, I finally understood that LG had a bug in HDMI operation as well..

The problem happens when your TV is already sending sound through HDMI ARC to a AVR and you try to connect additional sources like dth or blueray player to additional HDMI ports of TV and AVR. Once you add additional sources, you might try to use LG's device connector setting to control the device and this is where HDMI ARC stops working.

      Solution:
disconnect all hdmi ports of TV and AVR.
      Full reset TV and AVR.
Only Connect HDMI ARC port of TV with HDMI ARC OUT of AVR. Enable ARC feature on both TV and AVR. Open LG TV internal app,
and check if sound is coming properly to AVR.
Now you Connect All additional sources to other HDMI ports of TV and nothing should be connected to AVR.
You may use LG device connector setting to configure the magic remote to control them.

      MY current setup of TV:
      HDMI 1: Airtel DTH.
HDMI 2: ARC connected to Denon AVR 1500H.
HDMI 3: ACT Television(Using this to play hotstar premium content as LG inbuilt APP is not playing it)

      Good news:
LG magic remote can control all 3 devices seamlessly and thats a great ease for customers.
I shall appreciate LG for this.

Since way back in 1996, LG Electronics has been putting serious effort into developing materials that aren’t just good for our products – but good for people and the planet, too. And we’re not stopping at just home appliances. The materials we’ve created are finding exciting new uses beyond the home, bringing more convenience to everyday life while helping to improve the environment.

One of the standout results from this journey has been our work with advanced glass-based materials. Thanks to years of R&D, we’ve built up some pretty impressive Optical and Display Glass Technologies.
Glass might seem simple, but it’s got some amazing properties: it’s made from natural ingredients, it’s highly resistant to heat and chemicals, and it doesn’t react much with other substances. That means we can combine it in lots of ways to create all kinds of useful materials. LG has been tapping into that potential, building out its capabilities through a dedicated Advanced Materials business focused on functional glass.
This new business is growing fast as a key B2B pillar within LG’s Home Appliance Solution Company. We’ve been investing significantly in R&D and production – and the results are speaking for themselves. To date, LG has applied over 420 patents related to glass powder and has even set up a production plant in Changwon, South Korea, capable of producing 4,500 tons annually.
One of our standout innovations? Mineral Wash – a water-soluble, alkaline mineral glass powder. When added to water, it releases mineral ions that break down contaminants like oils, fats and proteins in fabrics. It even helps shrink water molecules, making it easier for them to get between the fabric and stains. That means enhanced cleaning power, less need for chemical surfactants and a more eco-conscious laundry experience.

LG is also working with external partners to expand the potential of Mineral Wash. On June 26, we signed an MOU with a national Korean institution to launch a pilot project aimed at achieving a “Water Positive” status – basically returning more clean water to nature than we use. With the help of Mineral Wash, we’re exploring how we can reduce water use, recycle wastewater and even restore rivers. If the pilot proves successful, Mineral Wash could open up new opportunities as a raw material for both household and commercial laundry products.

And that’s not all. Earlier this year, our Advanced Materials Research Lab team headed to Antarctica – yes, Antarctica – to test the antibacterial power of Purotec and study how Mineral Wash and Marine Glass impact marine microorganisms in extreme environments. The findings? Purotec showed strong antibacterial effects even in the harshest conditions, and Mineral Wash proved to be environmentally safe, showing almost no harm to delicate marine ecosystems.

As our Advanced Materials business grows, so does our global presence. In early 2025, we showcased our tech at ChinaPlas – Asia’s largest industrial materials exhibition – and we’re gearing up for the K-SHOW in Germany this October to connect with even more B2B customers across Europe and North America.

At LG, we’re not just thinking about the appliances in your home – we’re rethinking the materials that power them, with a vision that’s global, sustainable and built for the future.

Trying to programme my magic remote to control an Amlogic OTT, however keep getting a ‘temporary issue occurred’ when I try. I’ve been trying for over a week now, so this temporary issue isn’t so temporary!

New LG 55" C4,  Magic Remote STB setup does not provide for Charter/Spectrum Arius STB model DCX3220? This is a current model STB and previous LG models did provide MR setup for this model.

      Greetings.
A huge problem is connecting an external drive/flash drive to a TV with webos with a large number of files.
It starts scanning all folders, which can take up to 20 minutes. Which is unacceptably long.
On the netcast platform, everything was instant. Maybe it creates previews...maybe something else...
How to disable disk scanning by the webos platform?
