Hi Hanmant, As with mobile phone OS creators the said manufacturers do not produce (with obvious exceptions like apps to access their own products) all the apps to run on their platforms, the same is true for Smart TV platforms. LG do not produce the app, so if your favourite content provider does not produce an app then you need to lobby them to do so. You can also use the official LG contact form (https://www.lgwebos.com/topic/2550-lg-has-a-feedback-and-suggestions-form/) to let LG know you would like apps for particular content providers. This however will just be in the hope that LG will make overtures towards the content provider to show them that there is a desire for them to create an app for the webOS platform.

Hi Arun, Unfortunately you seem like you are stuck with webOS 2 so I am afraid that the only way to get HOTSTAR would be to get a streaming device like a ROKU (if it has the required app).

Theoretically any Bluetooth headphones should work as it is a universal standard, myself I have been using a £15.00 generic set of earbuds from Amazon for the last three years without problem. Of course your mileage may vary.

If there is an upgrade available on LG's website then you would be able to upgrade using a USB drive. However if there is no upgrade available then I am afraid you are stuck with v2.

Hi deekshit, I am afraid that most if not all developers no longer provide updates for webOS 1, many do not support v2. It is time to purchase a ROKU.

Hi Darin, If you are opening a web page and you get a message "We have detected you are running an older version of Chrome" this is because the website is not detecting the browser correctly, but it is identifying that it is based on WebKit, which is is as is Chrome, Safari the upcoming Internet Explorer et al. There is nothing you can do about this apart from contacting the website in question and asking them to update the site to recognise and render the webOS browser correctly.

I believe your TV originally shipped with webOS 2, although it may have received and upgrade to webOS 3, you would need to check in the setting to confirm the version. If you find that it is webOS 2 then I am afraid that Hotstar, not LG, have made the decision not support that earlier version of the platform.

Hi @kashif javed To the best of my knowledge there is no way to do a conversion, firmware is linked to data built-in the hardware so one will not work on another. The best option is going to be the same I gave to @Kayaem M to get a ROKU 4K device.

A company that could guarantee that their TV would be able to support new features brought out in 5 years time! That I would love to see, I would even purchase shares in the company, riches would be mine.

That might be the answer, but without model & software versions of either TV it is hard to tell. In the case of one of the available players in Mint Movies it is Adobe Flash based which will definitely not work in webOS's browser.

Hi, The reason you cannot watch Mint Movies is that the video players are not supported by the browser, there are various reasons behind this. None of the problems however are going to be solved by LG, Mint Movies would need to upgrade their website to support the webOS browser.

Hi Kashif, You have a TV designed for the commercial market, conference rooms, hotel bedrooms and the like and as such does not access the Content Store in the same manner as a retail market TV. Expectations vs reality... Chromium would need to be entirely recompiled for webOS and its memory requirements I would think exceed what is available in a TV. Smart TVs can be seen as a TV with a little bit of computing power, not a lot of computer with a little bit of a TV.

Because sometimes Google, although doing its best not to be evil, does get some things wrong.

I am sure people would love to see them in the Content Store, but the content providers are the ones who need to produce the apps. As for the webOS browser it scores very well in things like HTML5 tests, the problem is that many sites are running out of date technologies or are not optimised for webOS.
