Question

Hello

I have 42B670V-ZA tv bought in 2014. This model has different numbers/letters depending from the distribution area. Mine is for Poland.

Software version is 05.05.70,

WebOS version is 1.4.0-2532 afro-ashley. This model was made with the intention of upgrading to WebOS 2 and so it was manufactured. In late 2014, once the tv was still on market, European and US (with a different name), LG Korea has announced that this model would not have upgrade. Nevertheless I think it STILL IS a way to make it higher or at least faster, as it was on a very beginning. Now it coughs after using 45 mins on Netflix or 30 mins on WWW app when watching film online. When instslling new app, it shows such data:

Version of the app i.e. 1.1.1

Date of last update of the app i.e. 20.04.2015

Size of the app i.e. 105 KB

Rating i.e. "everything" (???)

Internal memory i.e. 850MB/973MB

And this INTERNAL MEMORY REMAINS THE SAME 850MB

Does anybody know, how to do this either using

service mode or

Installing some software from a memory card

or in any other way? The problem is that the tv has not enough memory to operate apps. I cannot release the memory without loosing my settings. I live in Warsaw, Poland, but I have additional apps like HULU and Amazon Prime US which enables me watching US content (I pay for them in USD).

Uninstalling other useless apps didnt work. Now I have only system apps and 3 more like Netflix, HULU and Amazon. I cannot even install anything more. LG support told me to return to factory settings which wipes all memory out. I dont want to return to WebOS 1.0. I just want my tv to work faster BACK AGAIN and maybe to use some other apps which cannot be installed due to insufficient space on card/disc and to install some apps that are compatible with WebOS 2. (Now they are not apperaing neither in Polish LG store nor in US store, once I change the region to US/CANADA/MEXICO.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi, Sadly you are not going to be able to upgrade the TV, a device such as a ROKU would be your best bet if you don't want to go to the expense of replacing the TV.

Hi @Adam Broda, The ROKU was only a suggestion, so the Nvidia TV would of course be a better option for you.  I agree with you about the quality of LG screens, my sister & brother-in-law have

@George Hofmeister ROKU is not supported in Poland in terms of apps. I stand by LG, found quite inexpensive tv with WebOS 4, 32", with everything I need, but I want this 42" for my son.  The only con is 50 Hz instead of 100 Hz. Besides this LG 42 is made in 2015, I wrote 2014. 42LB670V has the best viewing angle Ive ever seen in all tvs. I visit people's houses with tvs 4 times more expensive that mine and the comfort of watching is... incomparable. Second thing is that I 'm thinking about Nvidia TV which has all apps and full support in Poland.

All electronic devices are twice more expensive here than in US.

Hi @Adam Broda,

The ROKU was only a suggestion, so the Nvidia TV would of course be a better option for you.  I agree with you about the quality of LG screens, my sister & brother-in-law have a 47" that predates webOS and the picture is still marvellous.

Utilizing VUNO’s AI Algorithm, LG’s X-ray Acquisition Software
Reduces Analysis Time by Detecting Abnormalities in Images

SEOUL, June 22, 2021 — LG Electronics (LG) today unveiled an improved X-ray acquisition software for the company’s Digital X-Ray Detector (DXD) line of medical imaging device products. The DXD software, developed in collaboration with , is LG’s first healthcare solution to utilize artificial intelligence. Paired with LG DXD, the advanced software provides a more convenient, more time-efficient way to generate and analyze X-ray images.
Designed for large hospitals as well as private clinics*, LG’s DXD with X-ray acquisition software leverages advanced AI to help busy medical staff swiftly spot abnormalities in chest X-rays, reducing reading time by automatically flagging suspicious readings on the displayed image. Featuring VUNO’s clinically proven AI algorithm, LG DXD enables medical professionals to view original X-rays and AI-analyzed images at the same time, ideal for diagnosing pulmonary diseases such as tuberculosis, pneumonia or lung cancer. LG DXD can analyze X-rays for interstitial opacity, consolidation, pneumothorax, pleural effusion and nodule/mass then inform the medical provider of any abnormalities and provide an abnormality score with a colored heat map or contour that marks any lesions detected.
LG is enhancing its range of high-quality medical solutions with the debut of a 14 x 17-inch wireless DXD with oxide panel that delivers high-resolution, low-dose images. The implementation of oxide and thicker cesium-iodide (CsI) scintillator and improved software means greater detective quantum efficiency (DQE) resulting in approximately 50 percent less radiation dosage. And with an IP68 rating, the new DXD is safe to use in dusty or wet conditions, while the eight hour battery life means easy portability and long usage times.
“LG Digital X-Ray Detector is now even more powerful with the integration of VUNO’s AI technology,” said Jang Ik-hwan, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. “Our improved diagnostic tool will enable medical facilities to reduce incidences of misdiagnosis, provide faster analysis and assist healthcare professionals in detecting thoracic diseases early.”
LG’s latest DXD medical solutions will be available starting in North America, followed by key markets in Europe and Asia.

I just got a new TV (43UN7000PUB) and can’t get HomeKit to work properly.  It works fine when the TV is on but won’t work when the TV is off.
I have seen several threads on this and done some research but did not find a resolution.
I read several threads that blamed it on the Magic Remote and Bluetooth.  This TV does not have the Magic Remote so I think that can be ruled out.
One thread pointed out that when the TV is off it loses it’s LAN connection and it’s WI-FI connection and said that could be the problem.  I can confirm this is true with mine as well.  This argument makes perfect sense to me as all connections would be lost when the TV is off.
If anyone can help I’d surely appreciate it.
One thread said the problem was fixed with a FW update.  But that was with a different model and a different FW than mine.  As I recall from memory it was something like FW xx.35.10 and it was a 55” or 65” TV.  My firmware says it is current with version 3.21.36.
Maybe a moderator could confirm the firmware fix already exists for this issue.  If so, could you please see that it gets pushed out to all HomeKit TVs instead of just that single model?
Thanks in advance for any help or comments.

My LG TV keeps nagging me to update to 04.71.25.  Has anyone updated to this version without any trouble.  When searching the WEB I only see complaints about 04.71.25 so I'm worried about upgrading. Most notable is the complaint about more pixelation particularly in the logos. I am hopeful that many have updated and did not notice any ill effects at all.
      Thank you
