My question is, can I install webos4.0 or higher on my lg 49uj701v, for example via a USB stick with an .apk ? I would like to download Paramount+.

Impossible, we've asked this question long ago but LG is not responding. Just get an Android tv stick for your TV or get a more recent series.

Yes that would be my next step. Already got an Amazon FireTv Stick.
