Mine works perfectly. Using it on two tv’s now. No problem playing premium content.  The only mild issue is missing subtitles with the big bang theory. Not much of a concern now.

I haven’t faced video stuttering till date.

Wish they add dolby 5.1 soon.

I have an LG 43UF690T which is running WebOS 04.05.85. Can someone at LG let me know when I can expect hotstar to be available in the content store?

I don’t think LG would be answering that. According to the WebOS version it should have been available by now but I guess its a combination of model nos & WebOS version. A lot of older models inspite of having the required WebOS version haven’t received it.

Contact hotstar at [email protected] or [email protected] .

@Adit The webos version specified by you is firmware version rather than webos version. According to hotstar, only tvs with webos 3.5 and above will receive the update. The tv model specified by you has webos version 2.0 when checked in specifications. So contact hotstar whether they are making the app compatible with version 3.5 below tvs

How do I check the webos version on the TV? I'm only able to see the firmware version in the 'About'option.

Go ot settings and then TV Information.  See the WebOS version. You should have WebOS 3.5 or above to get the app.

If you haven’t got the app by now its very unlikely that you’ll get it.

Since you have a 2016 model tv its better to invest in a fire tv stick or airtel xstream box. They will go a long way in supporting apps.

I have recently bought B9 and I see the hotstar app as well but when I open the hotstar unable to play any video, there are no navigation options as well. Anyone facing similar issue?

Nope. The nav menu comes from the side.
Delete the app & reinstall from LG Content Store.

New Manufacturing Plant in Sri City Expected to Begin Operations by End of 2026

SRI CITY, Andhra Pradesh, May 8, 2025 – LG Electronics India Ltd. (LGEIL) announced the commencement of construction of its new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh today at a ceremony graced by the presence of Shri Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Real Time Governance and Human Resources Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The new plant is expected to commence operations by the end of 2026.
Strategically located in Sri City’s industrial area, the new manufacturing facility will enhance LGEIL’s production capacity and also enable local employment in the region. The new facility will be LG Electronics’ third plant in India. The other two plants are located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh and Pune, Maharashtra. This investment underscores India’s potential as a critical hub within LG Electronics’ global supply chain.
The government of Andhra Pradesh has approved 247 acres of land in Sri City for LGEIL’s new manufacturing facility, which is expected to generate around 1495 direct jobs. LGEIL plans to invest approximately USD 600 million (INR 5001 crores) over the next four years, with the potential to attract ancillary businesses to the region, thereby creating an ecosystem for white good manufacturing in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The new plant at Sri City is expected to localize production further and meet the growing demand for LG products throughout India. It will also strengthen LGEIL’s supply chain in South India, while helping expedite access to LG products for consumers in the region. The facility will manufacture a diverse range of products, including AC compressors, refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners.
In addition to the presence of Shri Nara Lokesh, the ceremony was attended by other senior government functionaries along with senior LG Electronics executives from South Korea, including Lyu Jae-cheol, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company; James Lee, president of the LG Eco Solution Company and Hong Ju Jeon, managing director of LGEIL. Other government officials and senior LGEIL leadership were also present at the ceremony.
Sharing his best wishes from Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh said, “We wholeheartedly welcome LG Electronics to Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The announcement of LG Electronics’ new manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh is a testament to Andhra Pradesh’s progressive policies with regards to being industry friendly, ease-of-doing-business, fostering innovation and being home to world-class manufacturing hubs. A well-developed industrial ecosystem, great connectivity and pro-business environment makes Sri City the best location for the new plant.”
Shri Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Real Time Governance and Human Resources Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh said, “We are delighted that LG Electronics has chosen Sri City for its third manufacturing facility in India. This is a testament of LG Electronics’ commitment to India and I am confident that this expansion into Andhra Pradesh will address the potential growth in demand for LG products across India.”
“We are taking yet another important first step toward enhancing our partnership with India and contributing to its economic growth. The construction of our third manufacturing plant will complement our existing production facilities in Noida and Pune and marks a new milestone in our journey in India,” said Lyu. “This brand-new facility will create more jobs and increase local production,” he further added.

With K-pop’s influence spreading across the world, India is leading the way outside of Korea. Over the last decade, the unique music genre’s infectious beats, charismatic idols and vibrant performances have captured the hearts of millions of youthful Indians. The K-pop fandom here has evolved into a thriving community over the years thanks to social media and streaming platforms.
Recognizing this passion for Korean culture, LG India recently brought the unrivaled energy of K-pop closer to India’s young population by establishing a platform that celebrates cultural expression, seeks to discover talent and creates memorable moments for everyone.
At the forefront of these efforts is the “All India K-POP Contest,” a large-scale celebration of talent, music and cultural harmony, and a must-attend event on every Indian K-pop fan’s calendar.

This year’s contest saw thousands from cities across India compete in multiple rounds, culminating in a grand finale with electrifying performances by globally acclaimed K-POP bands like LUN8. This celebration of K-POP gave up-and-coming performers the chance to shine on the national stage, with exciting opportunities including trips to South Korea and state-of-the-art audio equipment to kick-start their musical journeys.
The contest began with a staggering 2,496 auditioning online in one of the biggest K-POP talent hunts ever held outside of Korea. The best 281 of them progressed to the next round – regional tournaments held offline in Kohima, Itanagar, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Chennai, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi. From there, 281 became 27 for the semi-finals, with the competition growing more intense and competitive with each passing round.

The illustrious semi-final judging panel featured esteemed figures Yoonhyeok, Jaemin (NTX), Ha Minwoo, Jay Kim, Ahn Hanbyeol and Sushil Chhetri, each bringing their own expertise and passion to ensure a fair, competitive contest. The evening closed with a live performance by popular K-POP band NTX in front of a 2,500-strong audience, who danced along to their dynamic choreography and captivating music. Twelve semi-finalists, including two LG Wild Card entries, advanced to one of the most highly anticipated events of the year – the grand finale.

The grand finale, which took place at Yashobhoomi, India’s largest convention center in New Delhi, delivered breathtaking performances, impressing the judges and 4,000 fans in attendance. The evening even hosted globally acclaimed K-POP band LUN8, known for their infectious energy and chart-topping hits, creating an immersive K-POP experience that left the audience in awe.
Once all the performances had concluded, this year’s K-POP champions were announced as Abhipriya Chakraborty in the vocal category and The Trend, one of the LG Wild Card entries, in the dance category. Their victories earned them an all-expenses-paid trip to South Korea. Despite falling at the last hurdle, the runners-up were given LG XBOOM audio products to support their musical aspirations.

The resoundingly successful All India K-POP Contest 2024 gave a platform to young talent and united fans from across the country. By merging global cultural phenomena like K-POP with meaningful initiatives, LG continues to resonate with its Gen Z consumers, fostering their boundless creativity and self-expression.

This giant effort aligns with LG’s commitment to strengthening ties with younger generations and reaffirming its Life’s Good brand promise through the border-transcending power of music and culture.

The international content on JioCinema and Hotstar apps are not playing. No issues with Indian content in Hindi or other regional languages. But English, Korean, and Japanese content are not playing. Specifically, I want to play Disney content on Hotstar and HBO content on JioCinema App.
I tried resetting all configurations and reinstalling the applications and re-logging into the apps. Still, the issue persists. I tried switching off the TV and tried pressing the power button for complete discharge and rebooting my router, but the same issue persists.
**I found a workaround though, changing the wifi network or using a mobile hotspot on TV and then all content plays well even if I revert to my primary Airtel wifi, It still plays. but the next day the same issue continues.
It's an overhead to switch the wifi every time I want to watch Hollywood titles. Certainly, it's not the experience I want with a TV of a hefty price tag. No other devices (Mac, ios, android, windows, Android TV) have this problem. Also, it's not the wifi issue, as I can watch the same titles on other devices. The LG TV also doesn't have the capability to remember a few WiFi networks to ease this workaround of switching networks.
Alas, Nobody informed me about this issue earlier while making the purchase. Now such pricey TVs shouldn't have these issues at all. Kindly let me know If there is a permanent fix for this issue.

I am using LG TV(UT8050 4K ULTRA HD). Disney hotstar app is running horribly, it is lagging too much and background video auto play making it worse. Can we add an option in it to disable to background video play in next update of Disney hotstar app.
