MLB.TV Issues with LG TV

Recommended Posts

I can stream to my phone seamlessly.

My TV is hard-wired, and I cannot connect via the MLB.com app. (Netflix / You Tube etc all are fine) I can select the game, get current info re who's pitching and batting, but no joy with live feed.

I'll try the "Live TV" option but my TV is from 2014...unsure if I've seen that option...

i'm getting a slightly different problem this season.

The app opens and displays current live scores, but gives a VIDEO ERROR 'The content you requested is not available. Please check your network connection and try again later."

Other apps are all working fine, even tried switching the input to 'livetv'

Any input is appreciated!

The app started to work for me a couple of days ago. You can navigate through the screen with the left/right/up/down and press the wheel to select BUT you cannot select when the pointer is on screen. You have to wait for the pointer to vanish and then you can press the wheel to select.

Tried to watch MLB.TV using the app last night and I was saying VIDEO ERROR 'The content you requested is not available. Please check your network connection and try again later.' Same thing as someone else. It streamed fine on my Android phone. Attepted to restart and it tried again and nothing. This was also true for highlight videos.

Glad Im not the only one having this issue, hopefully it gets resolved before tomorrow, I just purchased mlb.tv after trying it out for $10 or whatever the special deal was last season.  Now I just need to convince my wife before I cut the cord.

So I talked to MLB TV customer service over their Twitter account @MLBfansupport and I let them know the situation after troubleshooting nothing helped  and they just asked me to use my Apple TV for now  which is kind of lame because they don't have a Magic Remote hopefully they will do something about it but more people need to spam their inbox in order for any change to occur .

Yeah for now I guess I can watch on my Xbox 1. However I may think about spending a little extra cash for a Samsung.

Mine works now... I think.

My LG is new, and I've only used Roku before for MLB.TV - in the Roku App, I can click on a game, pick which teams feed, and then pick where to start watching (beginning, Top of 1st, Bottom of 1st, Top of 2nd...). This is a great feature for me as I've often listened to the radio for a while, and then watch the end of the game at some later time and can start watching where I left off. Does the LG WebOS app for MLB.tv just no support that feature, or am I messed up?

On this current version of MLBtv I can't select an inning or fast forward or reverse. Can only advance or rewind using the 10second button. Also, closed caption does not work.  No problems with streaming.  Last years version was able to do all of this.  any help is appreciated.

I just checked out the new app format in more detail.

You can select home vs away broadcast by selecting the game from the scores menu. Then select the inning from line score.

After finally resolving all of these issues we've had with MLB.TV and our LG TVs over the past couple of years, I recently received a message through my TV's messaging system stating that LG will no longer be a supported device for MLB.TV.  Has anyone else seen this?  Isn't that lovely if it is the case!

Yes other people have noticed:

https://www.lgwebos.com/topic/3865-mlb-tv-no-longer-supported-on-lg-tvs/

Users of the app are are going to have to join up in force and make their complaints directly to MLB.TV as LG do not produce or directly support the app.

I have emailed MLB.TV via their contact page with the following message:

In the last few days there has appeared a pop-up on my LG Smart TV informing me that MLB.TV will soon dropping support for the webOS platform, obviously this is quite a little upsetting for LG users as you still seem to be supporting plenty of other platform.  Can you give me a definitive reason why support is being discontinued so that I may let the other members of the LG webOS User-to-User forum I am a member of know?

May I suggest that as many other forum member, whether you use the app or not (I myself do not) also contact MLB.TV as well.  May be if they see a ground swell amongst LG owners they may reconsider their stance.  You can find the contact form here:

55B6P TV that has crashes after a few minutes of streaming a live MLB.TV game. The screen freezes and the audio makes an En En En En weird sound before it restarts and tunes to a cable channel. I contacted LG Customer Service and received a response that it is an MLB.TV app problem. Our TV has no problem streaming HD content from and we have Xfinity Extreme 105 Internet service. Our other TVs have no problem streaming live MLB.TV games and are located farther in distrance from our wireless router than our TV. I going to try my Roku streaming stick on our TV to see if our TV will stream MLB.TV games via Roku. Frustrating response from LG.

The fact that you're able to stream HD content from Amazon and other streaming services without any problems suggests that the issue is with your TV, not the MLB.TV app. Additionally, the fact that your other TVs are able to stream live MLB.TV games without any problems, even though they are located farther away from your router, further supports this theory. {}

I have a Marantz Cinema 70s (Version  3400-8281-E054-8790-DTS Version  3.90.50.82) and an LG G29 83"(03.33.65)which has propatly an HDMI handshake problem.

Both devices have Arc/eARC turned on/off and the HDMI cable (2.1) is connected to the ARC/eARC output on the Marantz and to the HDMI2 Arc/eARC input on the LG.

I can't get sound from the Web OS / Amazon Prime transferred to my Marantz...I have to switch manually the TV to speakers from the TV.  It can't be.
With all other devices connected to the Marantz, the sound works perfectly.
I spoken allready to the German Marantz  and also to LG Support. Marantz told me it was known that there could be a handshake problem. I should deactivate eARC on both the Marantz and the LG and then switch it back on first on the Marantz and then on the TV.

LG told me to unplug the TV for 2 minutes.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? Maybe I have overlooked some important settings.

thx for your help & advises in advance !

Resolving the Major Issues with LG TVs: A Comprehensive Guide
      Introduction:
LG has gained a reputation for producing high-quality televisions that combine cutting-edge technology with sleek designs. However, like any other electronic device, LG TVs can experience issues that may affect their performance and user experience. In this article, we will explore some of the most common problems encountered with LG TVs and provide practical solutions to address them effectively.
      1. Poor Picture Quality:
One of the most frustrating issues faced by LG TV owners is poor picture quality. To enhance your viewing experience, consider the following steps:
Adjust picture settings: LG TVs offer various pre-set picture modes like Standard, Cinema, or Sports. Experiment with these modes to find one that suits your preferences. Additionally, fine-tune settings such as brightness, contrast, color temperature, and backlight intensity to optimize picture quality for your viewing environment. Update firmware: Regularly check for firmware updates on LG's official website or through the TV's settings menu. Firmware updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes that can enhance picture quality. Check input source: Sometimes, the picture quality issue may be due to a poor quality input signal. Ensure that your cable, satellite, or streaming device is connected securely and functioning properly. Consider using high-quality HDMI cables for optimal performance. 2. Sound Issues:
Sound problems can detract from the immersive experience that LG TVs aim to provide. To tackle sound-related issues, try the following:
Adjust audio settings: LG TVs offer various sound modes, including Standard, Cinema, Music, and Sports. Experiment with these modes to find the one that suits your audio preferences. Additionally, adjust settings like bass, treble, balance, and surround sound to optimize your audio experience. External speakers or soundbar: If you are dissatisfied with the built-in speakers' performance, consider connecting external speakers or a soundbar to your LG TV. This can significantly enhance the audio quality and immersion. Check audio output settings: Ensure that the TV's audio output settings are correctly configured. Verify that the correct audio output, such as HDMI ARC, optical, or Bluetooth, is selected based on your audio setup. 3. Connectivity and Network Issues:
LG TVs rely heavily on connectivity features for streaming content and accessing smart features. If you encounter connectivity or network problems, try the following solutions:
Network troubleshooting: Make sure your TV is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. Restart your router, update its firmware, or try connecting your TV using an Ethernet cable for a more stable connection. Software updates: Keep your TV's firmware and applications up to date. Regularly check for system updates in the TV's settings menu. These updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can resolve connectivity issues. Factory reset: If all else fails, performing a factory reset can help resolve persistent network issues. However, be aware that this will reset all settings and erase stored data, so make sure to back up important information beforehand. Conclusion:
While LG TVs are known for their exceptional quality, they can experience certain issues that may impact their performance. By following the solutions provided above, you can troubleshoot and resolve some of the most common issues with LG TVs, including poor picture quality, sound problems, and connectivity/network issues. Remember to consult the TV's user manual or LG's support website for specific instructions tailored to your model. With these steps, you can optimize your LG TV experience and enjoy uninterrupted entertainment.

      Good afternoon,
I have a 49UB850V-ZD smart TV and has the issues below. Can't understand if its a software issue or components issues:
      1. Can't reset using meniu. I can access the meniu, I inserted pin 0000 and if I try to click Confirm it just flashes the button with no success. If I click Cancel then the meniu closes
      2. The Live TV channels are not working. There is no issue with the provider. It just not plays any channel
      3. If I connect the usb or hard-disk driver to play some movies I can navigate thru folder but I can t play any
      4. When I connect to Netflix or youtube I can navigate but if i try to play it does not load.
      5. The remote TV does not work anymore -> Only the Power Off/On button
      6. I have a magic remote TV for LG and works to navigate with the indicator
      7. The button of the TV (under the TV led) works only to open the TV -> the menu does not work anymore
      8. In the advanced menu, the Channel settings is not active among other options that are disabled.
      9. When I try to access the LG STORE it says: loading unsuccessful (82) because the hour of the TV is not the correct one. I tryed to change time to something different and also changed location and removed the location. This change did not had any effect
What do you think? What do I need to do?

i have created an Alexa routine for my LG C2 Oled 55 inch TV which will play Youtube video at the end but somehow alexa is manage to do that but without audio, the video plays well but audio doesnt even if the TV is not on Mute... I had tried it many a times increasing decreasing volume but it does not work.
but when i say alexa again while the video is playing (without audio) then hit back button to close alexa prompt then suddenly the audio starts playing... so i suspect it has to do something with audio takeover by alexa, i dont know for sure plz suggest
