  1. Trusted Reviews wrote an article that is a good read about what to expect ate CES 2015: http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/ces-2015-what-to-expect

    One expectation is...

Google also announced at the time that it had reached agreements with Sony, Sharp, and Philips to include Android TV in their 2015 HDTV ranges. As such, we're expecting to see a whole bunch of top end TV sets running on Android TV at CES 2015.

Don't expect Samsung and LG to join the Android TV party just yet though. Both Korean manufacturers are keen to push their own platforms. With Samsung known to be looking to reduce its reliance on Google, LG last year introduced its new webOS TV platform, the undoubted leader of the current group.

  3. You are right LG has announced next version of webos tv for 2015 and they call it second generation of webOS TVs, i am only afraid that we will be left hanging with the first generation of webOS TVs without any support!

I have should know better, not to by stater product of any kind only when it has some medium maturity of production!

Hopefully first generation webOS TVs will get updated to second generation. I would think they should.

  4. I don't understand why going with webOS for TV which is still in development, when there is Android TV that is prity mature! I would gladly install Android TV now if there is possibility!

Didn't Android TV just get announced? Google TV has been around but never really took off.

I think that with any first release there are going to be some issues, but with 1 million+ TVs sold, I'm sure there will be improvements. Based on the info we have, LG is already working on the next version of webOS for 2015.

  5. There are numerous articles that have popped up stating that LG plans to go full force and have all its TVs powered by webOS in 2015. In addition, LG plans to release an updated version of webOS as well. Sounds like LG is going "all in".

WSJ is reporting that other home devices may be powered by webOS as well and it hoped to get ahead with developers and app development for webOS: http://online.wsj.com/articles/lg-plans-to-use-webos-software-to-power-all-internet-connected-tvs-next-year-1403777631
