  1. I am going to guess that you are trying to stream via a web page. If that is the case the problem is probably that the site(s) rely on Adobe Flash, which is not supported by the webOS browser (or any other Smart TV platform, except Android TV). Sadly there is no way around this.

  3. The only people that have ruined the YouTube add is YouTube themselves as they write the app... Not being a programmer I am going to guess that the YouTube app is a Hosted (Server Hosted) app and not a Packaged app, which is why the interface seems to change more regularly than the installed package does. Perhaps this is the reason the app crashes so much, is there some issue with it fetching data from the YouTube servers and mishandling memory or memory leak?

As Terrarium TV is a free (and depending on your country of residence illegal) way to watch content it is unlikely that LG would allow it in to their app store if anyone could be bothered to port it to webOS. Currently Terrarium TV is only available for Android devices (choose your download source carefully), so if you do not want an external device plugged in to your TV to run it you will need to purchase a TV running Android TV.

  6. No I am not an LG employee and no one on this forum claims to be as this forum is a user to user site. Sorry if my question and statement sounded rude, but both I feel were valid.
  7. And I refer you to my previous response. Android is Google's baby, iOS is Apple's, but they do not produce apps beyond their own offerings. Yes LG can strike deals with content providers, but it should not be assumed that they will. That said I am not entirely defending LG, if I were them I would have reps knocking on every content providers front door I could think of, especially if they provide paid content. I would be saying let us do all the heavy lifting of developing an app at no initial cost to you, all we want is a slice of that subscription fee. Most of the posters on the forum who complain that an app is not available made no effort before making their purchase to find out if said app/service was actually available, and moan after an ill researched buy. Personally I only wanted a limited range of apps, UK terrestrial catchup channels, Amazon, Netflix and YouTube and checked that they were available beforehand. I don't browse the web on my TV so I am not worried about the browser being so limited. What I really wanted was decent picture and sound quality. Would I buy another LG smart TV in the future probably not, but that is not to say I would buy one from say Samsung. Instead I would buy myself a dumb TV and add a ROKU/Fire/Apple TV device.
  8. Apps on the whole are not produced by LG but by content providers. In the same way that Apple and Google do not produce all the apps in their respective stores. If you want an app it is the content providers that need chasing.
  9. Have you approached Jio TV to ask them when they will be producing an app for webOS? This figure of other manufacturers being 60% cheaper than LG makes me wonder why you bothered buying the set you did if you knew that everyone else was cheaper and provided a better range of apps.
  10. I would imagine that complaining to YouTube would be your first and best bet as they produce the app.
  11. It is possibly something to do with your DNS settings, check to see if you can change them in your modem/router.

  13. Currently Directv NOW do not produce an app for the webOS platform. Sadly you are limited to either mirroring a mobile device or purchasing a compatible streaming product such as a ROKU. If you want an app for webOS you are going to have to ask/badger/cajole Directv NOW in to producing one.

  15. Highly unlikely as ThinQ was designed to run on LG's latest chipset, which earlier TVs do not have.

  19. I have been playing HDR content since I purchased my TV in late 2016, I cannot say I saw that it had disappeared from then until now.
  20. You are quite right translation is not difficult. Sadly what is difficult is the willingness of the app providers (in this case DAZN) to produce the app in multiple languages, something they need to do as it is not up to LG to do this. There is conflicting information on the availability of DAZN, Wikipedia seems to think Italy is covered, But, DAZN's own site does not mention Italy, and you would hope they would know what they are talking about.   21. Hi Ken, I sure that resetting your TV probably is not going to help, the problem is that the webOS browser does not play nicely with the embedded player used on the site. From what I can tell timelesstoday.tv uses JW Player (https://www.jwplayer.com) which is based around Javascript, which in turn it appears the webOS browser does not support, or pretty much any other plugin. That said other TV brands probably would not work either going by various bits and pieces I have read. Here is LG's information page on the browser: https://www.lg.com/uk/support/product-help/CT00008334-1435838149474-web-browser-specifications-operation Basically it is limited in what it can do, a conscious decision I expect by LG to save having to reinvent the wheel by programming for technologies that have really had their day. Of course if the timelesstoday.tv site embedded its audio and video files with HTML5 instead there would likely be no problem with playback. This is because the webOS browser (as of 2016, latest figures I could find) has the best Smart TV browser support for HTML5: http://html5test.com/results/other.html#television In summary, HTML5 good, everything else bad.   22. Hi Ken, It probably is the website that has changed, if you can let the forum know which site it is others can test as well. As for contacting LG, you could but they are not known for their feedback sadly, but I suppose if you don't they will have no reason to improve the webOS experience. I imagine the site in question has either changed their back-end video streaming tech or it has stopped recognising the User Agent ID of the webOS browser.
  23. Unfortunately while it is possible to download an APK file there is not a lot of point as webOS is not Android and you will not be able to install it on your TV.
  24. I would imagine that the owners of the site in question have altered it so it no longer displays in the webOS browser. But without knowing which site you are talking about it is hard to know for sure. It would be odd if a site has introduced Flash this late it its life cycle.
