Why only 100Mbit wired connection?

Question

Posted

I've just been testing playing 4k UHD Blu-Ray rips from my DLNA server to the DLNA client built into my OLED 55 B6T. The playback keeps stuttering because the bitrate can exceed 100Mbit, and the Ethernet connection on the TV is only 100Mbit. I know the problem isn't with the DLNA server because I can stream the same rips from the server to my PC, which has a gigabit NIC, and get no stuttering.

Do later model LG sets have gigabit connections? I had a look on the LG website, but the specs for the sets just say they have a LAN connection without specifying the speed.

We don’t have gigabit ethernet because they don’t assume one would be using DLNA or PLEX for such high bitrate files. For streaming 30 is more than sufficient, hence 100 Mbit.

For 4K remuxes use wifi ac with decent signal (I easily get 200+) if your OLED has it.I use wifi ac with C8 & it works flawlessly.

If you want to go hardwired get a Gigabit LAN to USB 3.0 adapter. You can search for compatible models on reddit.

I recently updated the firmware on my  LG43UH610V.  Now I constantly get "Wired Lan cable disconnected" / "Wired network is connected" messages even while watching a video file from my NAS. The TV is connected and using the network while getting these messages. It has always been on a fixed IP address on the LAN.

I have a LG 65QNED92AUA tv that has issues with the Bluetooth connection dropping off when connected to my earbuds. I believe the issue to be software related. LG has sent 2 technicians out to repair and the first technician changed the main board and Bluetooth transmitter which did not resolve the issue.
There are similar issues with Bluetooth Connection from others.
Since hardware replacement didn’t help and this is a known software-pattern issue, I would like push LG to specifically address it at the firmware/webOS level. I am unable to escalate to their software team and check if there’s a known patch or beta firmware for the QNED92 line.
For some reason this line of questioning is not available with in LG customer service.
       Please help!

      Hi everyone,

I’m running into a very inconsistent issue when streaming my Windows 11 PC with apollo (fork of Sunshine) to my LG C4 TV using Moonlight (webOS).
The setup worked perfectly for about 6 months at 2K / 90 FPS with high bitrate.
Around 2–3 weeks ago, the issue started without any clear change on the PC side (possibly after a webOS update).

      Symptoms:
      •    Moonlight on the TV shows “connection unstable” with a black screen
      •    Behavior is inconsistent and unpredictable :
Sometimes nothing works at all with black screen Sometimes 2K / high bitrate work or not yesterday 2K didn't work but lowest resolution (1280x..) worked •    Streaming to my phone works fine, so the host PC and network seem OK

      What I’ve tried:
      •    Clean reinstall of Moonlight on the TV and Apollo/Sunshine on the PC
      •    H.264 only (no HEVC, no AV1, HDR off for testing)
      •    All bitrate / FPS / resolution combinations
      •    Ethernet and Wi-Fi
      •    Different Windows display modes
      •    Virtual display disabled
      Setup:
      •    Host PC: Windows 11, NVIDIA GPU (RTX 3070)
      •    Apollo installed on PC
      •    LG C4 TV, webOS 10.2.2, sideloaded Moonlight client (1.6.36)
      •    PC and TV tested on both Ethernet and Wi-Fi (2 gbps internet speed on my computer)
      •    Streaming to other clients (android phone) seems to work reliably

Feel free to ask me any information needed
      Thanks for your help

      Hi All,
My TV will only display a good pisture when using 1080 sdr 30hz. Anything different and certain content will appear washed out, blue or green tint on setup and streaming pages. I believe my TV is connected correctly as the picture is fine so long as it is 1080 sdr. Thoughts?
      Thanks in advance

Title says it all.  Install a new 50 inch LG tv.  For every app and App Store it displays that message.  I have a great network and the TV is approx 30 feet from the wifi router.  It will play TV (not sure if that is coming over the air) and the phone app sees and can control the TV but not one app will work?
Any ideas or just return it?
      Thanks
