WEBOS 3.0 BROWSER DOES NOT SUPPORT HTML5

Question

Posted

Hi, the webos default browser does not support html5. Using the default browser, I went to Netflix site, login and when I tired to play any movie, I get redirected that the browser does not support html5.

Can LG release an update to fix this. I am on webos 3.0.2.

Hi,

The webOS browser does support HTML5, much has been written on the subject:

Simply; Netflix's site is not designed to work with the webOS browser.  Different browsers have differing levels of support for HTML5, JavaScript etc, as all browser are not created equal content providers need to code accordingly.

for some reasons, my WebOS don't have "LG Content" where it will normally allow me to install application like Netflix. any reason why this is the case? I have another LG TV which has this "LG Content"

Very odd, could you post both the models of your TVs and which one does and does not have the LG Content?

Hopefully someone can then shed some light on the issue.
