How to update firmware Via USB stick?

Walter

Question

got myself 2 new LG smart WebOS TV's one 4K and one just a smart 3D

on the 4K one the LG store is completely available, as it has a higher software version

the regular one just says "COMING SOON"  (not so smart tv)

anyhow, i called LG as when i tried to update the firmware on the non 4k one (03.00.68) it tells me there is no update found (they told me there is an available update but there is an issue with their system stopping updates)

yet when i go to LG's homepage (

link hidden, please login to view
) there clearly is one which would take me to 03.00.85 ....

SOOOOO, i have downloaded the files, and put them on a USB drive, plugged them into the TV, but cant find how to manually install???

any help would be appreciated!

I'm having the same problem with my new LG Smart TV.  When I go to the LG Store it says "Coming Soon".  I note that 3 days ago the new software was made available for download on LG Australia website.  i have downloaded it but would like some guidance on updating the software.   I will give it a go tonight.  I vaguely remember an update area in the settings but can't remember if "via USB" was an option.  Will post tomorrow.

***********Update - No luck with updating the software from USB stick.  I found a support article for an older model TV that said the software needed to be in a folder called LG_DTV (which I did) but still no luck.  When you go to the general page (under settings) and go to About This TV you have an option to check for updates but it appears that it only checks the internet and consequently comes back and says "no updates available".  No option to direct the TV to the USB stick.  VERY VERY FRUSTRATING!

I saw on another forum that there was an error with some of the update codes that was causing the TV's to malfunction. I'm guessing that's why you can't download the update directly right now. I'd hold of on figuring ways to sideload it until that error gets fixed.

I have a 47LB6500-SF brazilian model and i would like to update it...

The problem is that at the brazilian LG site still hasn't 2014 line listed and so hasn't firmware to download too....

I found the model in other countries but with the letters at the end different of mine... For example: In Hong Kong is 47LB6500-CA, and in Australia and India is 47LB6500-TH.

My question is: can i update with one of these firmwares even the two final letters (that i have no idea what it means, despite i searched a lot) or i will brick my TV??

Tnx in advance!

As above! All4 & My5 will no longer work. Also, how do you update the browser? My LG nano TV is just over 3 years old.

I would like to update the OS on a relatively old TV (manufactured in 2015). So there are questions: how to find your version, where to download a new one and check its compatibility with my TV?

On LG OLEDs. You go on and disable SIMPLINK. Fine. But everytime you turn on your HDMI device it enables itself back again. This happens because they have disables two key features that were present in previous OSs, as you can see clearly here
link hidden, please login to view (they even put screencaps of the menus where you see the missing options in the 23) These functions are Auto Power Sync and Auto Device Detection.
Man updates are supposed to add functionalities not the other way around. It's very annoying to turn on your TV and have your AVR turn on without you wanting to.

Anyone found a solution for this problem?

webOS updated, I think to 2023, on my C2 a couple of days ago. Since then the News option on the Sky News app no longer works, instead timing out. The Weather and Climate options still work, though.
I have deleted and reloaded the Sky News app, but the problem remains.
Does anybody have any suggestions of what I might try to get this working again, or is this something for LG, or Sky, to fix?
