Hi Team
Any info on JIO TV app module in our LG smart tv webos to install and playback.
Kindly assit
According to other posts by members on the forum JIOTV has no plans for an app on the webOS platform (and possibly no other platforms apart from Android & iOS):
https://www.lgwebos.com/search/?&q=jiotv&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy
If you have a Twitter account I suggest asking them directly if and when they were planning to support other platforms:

@George Hofmeister thanks for ur reply....pls guide me if there is any way to upgrade the software version ...
Hi @trphilip
Unfortunately is there is not a newer version available either via Over-The-Air or via download at the support page at https://www.lg.com/in to a newer version of webOS then I am afraid you are stuck with the version you have.
-
Hi @trphilip
I believe that HOTSTAR only support TVs with webOS 3.5 and above, your model from the factory had version 3.0 so unless it has received an Over-the-Air upgrade you are not going to be available. The decision not to support earlier models was HOTSTAR's and there is unfortunately nothing LG can do about this.
As for voot as yet I do not think they have produced an app for the webOS platform, so you would need to as them via customer support or via their social media feeds when they are planning on producing one.

@Hinderslyne I se a lot of complaints about this Channel 4 app. It seems to have a lot of trouble handling advert transitions to and from the viewing program. I see that too sometimes with other apps here in OZ. It is possible that their CDN (Content Delivery Network) servers are struggling. Best thing would be for you to log in to that Channel 4 site, and decribe your issues, how many times it happens per day, and what effect it has on your viewing pleasure. The more complaints, the quicker it gets fixed.
Check your network though: Are you using WiFi or LAN internet connection? If WiFi, is it 5GhZ or 2.4GhZ band? Does the signal strength look good on a phone using the same WiFi band as the TV, when you are near the TV?
Hi @Hinderslyne
I agree about the more complaints the better, but you need to complain directly to Channel 4 as it is unlikely that they read this User-to-User forum. I find a good move to get a corporation's attention is to use Twitter, that way the entire world can see there is a problem and chime in as well.

Looks like Disney finally fixed its app - have not used D+ in months as I purchased an NVIDIA Shield Pro and now stream everything from that (including Movies Anywhere, CBS All Access, HBO Max and Peacock).
Just for fun loaded the D+ app on my LG, saw a 9/14 update and applied it, and lo and behold the D+ 4K movies now show 4K available and play in 4K.
Still better with the NVIDIA since I can get ATMOS sound in addition to Dolby Vision (the 2016 models do not have eARC and can only output 5.1 max via HDMI).
Good to know that the behemoth that is Disney are actually paying attention to their customers' problems.

The details you have listed is as it shows in your picture the software version, not the webOS version. Look under:
All Settings > General > TV Information
You should have something like:
3.3.4-4212 (dreadlocks-dharug)
Post the details of your version as well as the model of the TV as well with help the forum users with any help and advice they may be able to give.

There is this guide:

It is up to the content provider, in this case Disney, to write an app that supports your television. If a content provider decides that it is either quicker, cheaper, unfeasible or easier not to support earlier versions there is sadly nothing that LG can do about it.
Producing an app for webOS is arguably easier to do than for Android, but it does rely on the content provider's systems being compatible. Hotstar is one content provider who took steps to produce an app only after modernizing their systems, but they still only support later versions of webOS.
If you want the apps you have mentioned a ROKU would probably be your quickest way of getting them without the expense of purchasing a newer TV.

Wrong! These devices are supposed to be much more than a mere TV , they are sold as SMART TVs . The 'smart' appellation indicates it is supposed to be much more than an ordinary TV . When I bought mine I expected it to be able to browse the Internet just as I do on a laptop but the LG WebOS system falls far short of anything I have used before. The lack of internal memory and poor memory management means it continually shuts down the browser when using memory intensive apps such as Google map's. The browser home page has fixed areas of strong colour burns marks on the screen unless you continually switch to full screen mode . Even the subtitles have burned the bottom area of the screen , pixel refreshing does repair the damage, I now have to put up with a very low picture quality . I know about electronic hardware and software design and I think the LG designers should be shot! I'm advising all my friends and acquaintances to avoid LG SMART TVs.
LG's TVs are Smart TVs, they are just not the Smart TV you have decided you want after purchasing it when you then develop buyer's remorse on discovering you have not done enough research on your purchase. The amount of people on the forum who complain that their LG TV is not an Android TV, or it does not have the app support they decided it should have to equal their Android/iDevice/x86 devices is stunning. Manufacturers who do not use Android TV do it to develop their own ecosystem that will earn them more income than using a competitor's OS, the sale of the hardware is in effect making them little or no money on the actual sale.

Recently Disney+ Hotstar just launch in my country until now the apps still not available at content store.
So for the apps to be available at content store is up to hotstar ?
As with @Mithun Kankal it is going to be dependent on whether your specific model of TV is supported as to the availability of apps.

From memory Hotstar are only supporting TVs that run webOS 3.5 and upwards, they make the app so this decision is outside of LG's hands. A brief search around the forum should confirm this.

Hi All,
If you want an MX Player app for webOS I would suggest asking them via their Twitter feed why they have not produced on yet for the platform:

Hi @Saik
Possibly. SONY LIV are apparently creating an app, when it will actually appear is a another matter.

Why should I spend on that if LG supports these app.LG provides these apps for latest smart tv on webos. Why cannot they provide to this model?
While they provide Netflix and humana apps, why can't they provide prime and hotstar
LG do not write the apps for the webOS platform, in the same way that Google and Apple do not create (beyond their own products) software for their respective platforms.

Well, it's a not just a tv, but a smart TV.
My friend uses utorrent app in his micromax android tv, and downloads movies from torrent sites to an external HDD connected to TV.. Such an easier way to download and watch movies on tv itself.
So, hoping for torrent app on my lg smart tv someday.
Yes it is a smart TV but it is not a fully fledged desktop operating system. It is designed to consume content on, not to be used as a day-to-day replacement for a computer.

Wynk music must be in LG webos app store.
If Wynk produce an app for the webOS platform/your TV, then it would be in the store. If not then you would need to contact Wynk and ask them when/if they plan to produce one.

Am from India need some apps in web os like jio cinema, sony LIV even tizen os supports jio cinema apps pls help us to update your app store
Sony LIV - https://www.lgwebos.com/topic/3797-sony-liv-app/
As with any OS platform it is down to the willingness of content providers to produce applications for said platform. For instance Google does not make every app (outside their own product range) found on the Android platform. Samsung's Tizen OS does not 'support' an application such as JIO, but rather JIO have programmed and produced an app for that platform. The simple reason that apps tend to appear on more Samsung than LG is down to pure economics, Samsung sell more TVs than LG thus a content provider is going to code for that first. Another reason may be that a content provider's platform does not play well with webOS, as was the case with HOTSTAR before they updated their platform to be able to support it.
Simply if you want an app to appear on the LG webOS platform you first need to lobby the content provider to produce it, and secondly also express an interest to LG.

@George Hofmeister what do I do to achieve this on my LG Smart Tv WebOS
Thanks for your response
Nothing, Android apps are not going to run on webOS. If you want a specific app that is not currently available in the store then you either need to write one yourself, but more likely you will need to lobby the people who provide the service you want to use to create one.

Unfortunately it looks like you are trying to install Android applications on to the webOS platform, which is not going to work. While both OSs are *nix based their respective programming languages are completely different.
Why only 100Mbit wired connection?

Hi @Nick Payne
Unfortunately it is something that TV manufacturers, not just LG, have not yet adopted. Other users on the forum have circumvented the issue to a degree by using an USB to Ethernet adapter to increase their wired network speed. A little searching will find you the thread.
