  1. Try this, and see if it works... Go to Settings / Home Settings / Home Auto launch Turn this setting OFF

  2. I noticed since the last update of WebOS, it defaults to a screen with apps along the bottom rather than HDMI1 as before on startup. Even after going into the input settings and selecting HDMI1, it stills defaults to the other screen on startup. When selecting HDMI1 on the inputs screen, it has a red dot in the corner, which I would assumes means that's the selected default. But again, this seems to be ignored this on startup. Thanks.

  3. I called Amazon CS and they said it is a known problem and has to do with a bug in the latest release of the app. "They are working on it". I don't now why they don't re-release the old version until they get their act together

  4. I'd like a fast accessible shortcut to turn off the screen, eg. when pressing settings, a button on the screen. Or even better, the possibility to configure the speaker off button on the remote to turn off the screen instead. It should work independently of the energy saving feature, so that energy saving is not set to off when the screen is turned on again. The existing procedure to turn off screen is to complex press settings, press all settings, press energy saving, press off..... and when the screen is turned on again, the energy saving is set to off, and not to the previous value (eg. auto). 5. If you use the voice function on the remote and say "screen off" it will also turn off the screen, this seems to be the most efficient way of doing it I've found so far. There needs to be a shortcut button on the remote!

  6. I have a couple of LG OLEDs in shared spaces, with external speakers, one via optical and the other via analog jack (confusingly named headphones). Whenever bluetooth headphones are used and then disconnected, the TV reverts to "internal" terrible audio. For non-technical people this is permanent. Do I have to train everyone to select the device from the long list or can I set a default?

  7. I output the sound from my LG 75UJ657A to external speakers through a bluetooth connection, but it doesn't automatically connect to the bluetooth device when I turn the TV on. Whenever I cycle the TV off and, then, back on, the TV asks if I want to connect to the bluetooth device, and I have to select "yes" with the remote. My smart phone automatically connects to all the bluetooth devices I've set it up with. When I start my car, my phone connects automatically to the car stereo/phone system, and it does the same with other bluetooth speakers I have. This is what I want my TV to do. How do I get my LG 75UJ657A to automatically connect to the bluetooth device I've set up with it?

  8. Hi, I have a feature request for the sound out setting. I often connect my Bluetooth headphones to the TV. We don't use the internal speaker of the TV, we use the optical sound out setting whenever I don't use Bluetooth. It would make our lives a lot easier if the TV can remember the last sound out setting before connecting to Bluetooth and default back to this setting when the Bluetooth device gets disconnected. At the moment, each time I disconnect the headphones I have to go back into settings and change the sound out setting from internal speaker to optical again. Thanks and regards Hubert

  12. I have got from a friend the code for his OLED42C21LA: I have tried to update the code on my one, but I cannot select it for modification (on my C1 I can). I have FW 03.30.16. Is that common to C2? If somebody can test, it would be helpful. Any idea I can enable SM/ToolOPT6_Energy/country for modification?

  13. I have two LG C2 tv's both running OS 03.21.30. Attempts to update the OS state that this is the current version as of 12/2022. Amazon Music won't open on either of them, the splash screen appears and that's it, for hours. It opens fine on other devices in the house, Sony TV, PC's, and droid phones. Other streaming apps work fine with no buffering or glitches. The solutions offered online list instructions for clearing app caches using a series of menus that aren't even remotely close to the menus available on these TV's. I've checked every available menu and there's absolutely nothing offering the ability to clear app caches. App Manager offers exactly two options: Launch or Delete. Others insist that you need to clear the cache from within the app but of course the app won't open so that's a dead end. I did clear the browser cache but it had no effect this AMZN Music problem. So far I've also: Deleted and re-installed the app multiple times; Left the TV's unplugged 24+ hours; Full reboot of the router multiple times; Factory Reset of the TV's. If anyone has a solution that doesn't involve buying a fire stick I'm very interested - thanks (edit) one of these tv's is five feet from the router. Distance isn't the issue.

  14. Greetings Touchpad users! The webOS Nation Forums went down this month -- unceremoniously redirected to some crappy review site, despite the community's pleas to let us save or preserve it in some fashion. As a result, we're looking here (and other places) for some kind of community forum! For those who visit here, I wanted to let you know that despite all recent set-backs, the legacy webOS community is alive and well, still using our Touchpads, Pres, Pixis and Veers in 2023! Resources to get online, apps to try out, and lots of other things to do can be found at webosarchive.org We've also got a Discord server going -- it even connects to webOS Devices, through a modern app called SimpleChat. 18. Yup, I guess their thinking is based on the sync box pricing. It's funny that Hue Sync app for Mac and Windows is competely free (for now) and that's why the TV app feels like ripoff.

  19. Signify has now released a Hue sync app for recent Samsung TV's. It is up to LG to follow up on this for recent LG models. Btw, the adds on this LG site are messing up everything. The screen keeps jumping and it's even hard to type a reply. Why are there adds on a userforum?

  21. Still on this question: I am looking for a "ToolOPT6_Energy/Country" code with enabled PVR/TS for my OLED42C26LB. Here what I have there: Some of you may be interested to "ToolOPT6_Energy/Country" code of my OLED65C11LB: It is a non Italian model. I could enable PVR/TS by changing broadcasting position to Austria and getting back to Italian LCN. Here the procedure I have used: https://www.avmagazine.it/forum/127-display-e-tv-4k-e-8k/326568-attivazione-timeshift-e-registrazione-su-oled-lg-quot-stranieri-quot In case you are interest you are interested, you have only to translate and change ITA with your country. It is generic and it should work.

  24. Having same problem with my 50UQ7070ZUE. Have gone thru various install, uninstalls, factory reset, reset internet, check software update, all of the supposed fixes that LG recommends you go thru. Just in Facebook messenger with supposed tech support for LG. It's like they all read off of the same flip chart. Very frustrating.

  25. My understanding is that all LG TVs post 2016 will get the ITVX app, its just a case of when. You can of course use the internet browser on your LG TV and access ITVX via its website .I've tried it and it works, albeit that LG browser is a pile of crap and very very slow.
    1 point
  26. Wow. There's a lot here. Let me try and help you - but remember I'm just an LG customer like you - I work in the tech industry, but I'm not LG or ITV so I can only tell you what I know as a customer. The info I have comes from the @ITVxHelp Twitter feed. They reply very quickly if you wanted to try talking to them, but I warn you, they don't know a lot either! First - the good news - ITVx has started to roll out to LG TVs. I got my update this morning. The bad news is that it isn't working properly! I've reported it to them and we'll see what happens. In terms of the wider point - "Smart" simply means it has an internet connection and can run apps. What apps are available has nothing to do with LG - they offer their platform (WebOS) to developers, but what actually gets offered on this, or any TV is entirely up to them. Browse through this forum and you'll find lots of "where is this" and "why is this" posts. The bottom line is that ITVx is available to devices that support it - that doesn't mean they have to make it available to every TV and every device, and it doesn't mean that they have to get it to all platforms on time - there are a lot of other devices that either don't have ITVx yet, won't ever get it, or have it and it''s not working properly - it has been an undeniably shoddy roll out. The reality is that no TV or smart device has every app - and there's nothing you can do about that. Some are better than others and unfortunately, many developers don't offer LG apps, or make them last of all. LG is far from the best - but it's also not the worse - a lot of cheaper TVs don't have Disney+, for example, and that's been out for two years. Humax doesn't offer Netflix on its flagship set top box. That's just how it is, and there's no one TV or device that will get everything. As more and more streaming services come online this is only going to get worse. The thing about VPNs, specifically, is that they offer you a chance to watch stuff that shouldn't be officially available to you. Broadcasters and streaming services pay huge amounts of money for the rights to programmes, country by country, and therefore watching them from another country is a legal grey area. It would be lovely if LG offered VPN support, but VPNs are not a right either - in fact they're actually banned in many countries altogether. (For the record, I use a second router with a VPN built in and point my devices at that). The key thing to remember is that you don't have the right to anything - it's only false advertising if they specifically say "we offer this specific service or feature, on this model of TV" and then don't. The truth is that Smart TVs will never be as flexible as standalone devices like streaming sticks and computers. There are better options than LG for the sort of thing you want to do - especially as LG generally stop updating firmware after a couple of years - but just because something exists, it doesn't mean you'll get it and that's true of all devices, not just LG - and it's only going to get worse. I find it bonkers that we can't get Paramount+ on our TVs yet - but that's up to Paramount, not LG. I'm sorry if you feel you're stuck with a TV that doesn't meet your needs - look at other posts, you're very much not alone, it's the reason most people are here - but we live in an age where the TV landscape is changing all the time. Really, for the flexibility you want, you'd be better off with a separate device (FYI not a Roku - they don't support VPNs either!). I know that's not what you want to hear, but that's where we are and I don't think, from what you say, you'd be entirely happy with a Samsung, Sony or HiSense TV either - they all have their drawbacks and missing services. I hope I've been of some help explaining. I regret buying LG too, but I can''t afford to rush out and buy another model either so I'm trying to make the best of it. On the plus side, at least it looks like the wait for ITVx is nearly over!

  27. Hi. What can I do to get my TV to use the full broadband speed that I've got available. My tv is a 55EC930V and is using a wired connection to my router. My broadband is currently running at 125Mbps. When I use any other devices such as a laptop, mobile phone, etc the speed using fast.com returns anything between 120 to 130 MBps. But, when I use the web browser on the TV, it always maxes out at 33Mbps. This value is reported by fast.com. If I use the speed test in the Netflix app, this returns approx 29Mbps. I never get anything higher, so what's limiting it? The same problem occurs for YouTube and that's the only other App that I've got installed. If the network board in the TV is supposed to be 10-100Mbps, why don't I get 100 Mbps? I know I won't get 125Mbps because LG never puts 1Gbps in any of it's TVs.

  29. I am on Webos 4.40.18 and the YouTube app got totally messed up after the last update. Even if it's installed, when trying to open in the content store I get a message saying that it's not available for the region of the TV. When opening the app, the entire content gets stacked up in one single tile. Nice testing before releasing an app to Production. Is there any direct way to send this bugs to the developers? Probably it will take days or weeks to fix. Keep doing this great job...

  32. Guys, please advise how we can stream the FIFA World Cup on LG Smart Tv? Jio Cinema has won the exclusive rights and it would be an absolute shame if we are not able to watch the biggest sporting event in the world on our smart TV. Nullifies the entire purpose of a Smart TV. Kindly get this addressed.

  33. Does LG hire real software engineers with actual computer science degrees? Or do they just piggyback on software engineers that build webOS for free? My LG 77" OLED C2 is far from "smart" ... after a long online chat with LG tech support because my TV decided it would connect my Bose Q45 Bluetooth headphone then immediately disconnect. After hours of removing the device in the Bluetooth list, pairing the Bose headphones again, still same problem. Keep in mind my headphones were working fine 1 day ago. So the end result was: 1. Disable Quick Start (from settings) 2. Turn off TV 3. Disconnect the main power from source outlet 4. Hold down the power button under the little red light ... wait 30 seconds 5. Plug the TV back in and power on using the button under the red light. 6. Connect my Bose Q45 headphones If this weren't a waste of 1-2 hours of time it would be comical. I've had this problem 3 times since I bought the TV 2 months ago. I've gone thru 3 WebOS updates and each one seems to get worse and worse. If the software engineers at LG don't know what they're doing, then please STOP. Just banging out garbage untested code so you get paid isn't good for LG. This Bluetooth problem is well documented across the internet and LG is just making the problem worse. Connect then immediate Disconnect of a Bluetooth device sounds exactly like the code didn't capture the devices UUID. I don't know what approach the LG software engineers are using but if it's this method: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/bluetooth/le/ScanRecord or they might want to use Sweet Blue https://sweetblue.io/ . Your software seems to be processing the same UUID twice (sounds like basic loop logic problem as you cycle found devices). Did any of the LG development team actually test multiple Bluetooth devices? Either way LG, hire some quality software engineers that know what they're doing or pay for a quality assurance group to unit test. And yes, I'm a software engineer with over 35 years of experience.

  34. @filfae Yes, I finally managed to enable PVR and Live TV functions and everything is working fine! I don't know the meaning of the Energy/Country Code at Toolopt6, what I could understand is that changing them will enable/disable various options in the TV software - I believe they refer to the different TV models and to the Countries in which they are sold. I also think that different TV models have different toolopt6 "class" codes, meaning the first two or three digits in the code. What I suggest you to do is to take a screenshot of the default code on your TV, then search for a screenshot (you can probably find it online or asking on this forum) in which the code has the same first 3 digits but the "DVR Ready" switch set to ON and, VERY IMPORTANT, all the other options set the same as your TV. Selecting a code with random options settings could result in malfunction or damage to your TV: I was lucky because the first time, even if I typed in a wrong code for my TV and it deleted the Magic Remote support engine and some other minor functions, as I later typed in a correct code of the right class of my TV, a software update was released that fixed the problem, and everything works great since then. When you find and type in the correct toolopt6 code for your tv, then you must change the geographic area in the options menu to a country in which DVR is enabled, and the channel list is the same as Italy. I selected Estonia and it works great. The only issue is that I had to turn off automatic time zone selection, so twice a year I have to correct the time manually. Hope it will help you.

  35. I have completed my first TV app. It does its job very well: display on the TV, in REAL TIME, the GPS track of my excursions in the mountains. From home my family can therefore follow me, for my safety since I almost always go alone in the mountains. The next step would be to switch from the "developer" mode (the current one) to a "production" one. But I think that the LG store does not accept this app because it is too personal: it is not a video game with 10000 downloads! Furthermore, they could object to privacy issues. So how to make this app "definitive" (installed on 2 or 3 TVs at the most) without having to renew the extension of the developer mode every 40/50 hours ? Is there no other way than going through the LG market? Thanks for your attention

  39. I have in my LG GX OLED TV four hemi ports, the first is connected to Apple TV and the second to Sony HT A9 by earc. The third is connected to the Playstation 5 and the fourth is connected to Amazon Firestick. You can’t imagine my daily suffering, sometimes the TV turns off and the rest is works, I had to use four remote control and I worked hard to fix it, then it took a while until it got back. I can't continue with LG if this bugs is not fixed.

  40. That's pretty annoying! Every time I switch TV on, I should go to menu and connect my bluetooth speakers or headphones. For example, I switch TV on when my wife sleeps and TV starts to scream because this time it is not connected to my bluetooth phones , it uses internal speakers. And it is very easy to implement such simple option, I do not understand why it it not yet implemented..

  41. Hello everyone, a couple of things. First: LG Service Remote Control app actually works. it only costs 1.99$ and its available at play store. IMPORTANT: application works through IR blaster and thus you need to download it to a phone that supports it. I know for sure that the latest XIAOMI phones still have one. I used a XIAOMI Note 8 Pro. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=by.makarov.smarttvlgrc&hl=en&gl=US Second: After downloading the app, press ADJUST button. It open the service menu. Go to AREA Setting. My TV was bought in US and moved to Europe/Greece. The default settings were: Area Option: 22282 Continent Index: 10 Language&Country: US HW Settings: US At the location setting at the menu was showing: United Stares, Mexico, Canada, Others. I found a friend's LG TV purchased in Greece at the same time and did the same. Navigate to the Area option menu and copied its settings Area Option: 3122 Continent Index: 50 Language&Country: EU HW Settings: EU Went back to my TV, modified 22282 to 3122, automatically Continent Index, Language&Country, HW Settings were changed. Close TV, re-open it, it displays WebOS, doing its staff for a while, and the you have the same menu with a locally purchased TV, Location, Broadcast area, menu language. My TV now displays the menu in Greek, and at the LG store i can find local apps such as COSMOTE TV, ERTFLIX, TuneIn Radio etc. Lastly: 3122 is EU general. In some posts i show that 3122 is UK and 3124 Italy. By using 3122 it popped up all European countries to choose from. Thank you,

  42. TikTok has launched an app for LG’s 2020 and 2021 smart TVs, the TV manufacturer has announced. The app arrived on these recent webOS 5.0 and webOS 6.0 models with a firmware update that started rolling out on October 7th, but will also be coming to older 2019 TVs “in the coming months.” The app is launching in the UK, France, and Germany, a TikTok representative confirmed to The Verge. That’s notable since TikTok’s smart TV apps for Samsung TVs, Android TV, and Fire TV have all focused on those same European countries so far. Meanwhile in the US, TikTok released a more limited “More on TikTok” app on Fire TV devices last year. We have followed up with both LG and TikTok to ask which regions the new smart TV app will be available in. Considering how optimized TikTok is for portrait-orientated mobile viewing, it’s not going to look great on living room televisions. But TikTok is understood to be trying to reach a broader audience with its smart TV apps, as well as to tap into the higher advertising rates associated with TV viewing, Protocol previously reported. Update October 8th, 5:50AM ET: Article updated with confirmed regions. Source: https://www.theverge.com/2021/10/8/22716017/tiktok-lg-webos-smart-tv-app-2020-2021-2019
