Dear All,

I'm new here hoping to find a solution to my problem, after now trying around for almost two days without any result.

My set-up:
- LG OLED55C97LA OLED TV
- Nubert nuPro X-3000 (Pair of active speakers)

The active speakers are connected to the TV via HDMI-ARC on both sides. I'm aware that my configuration might be a bit unique, however I have the feeling that it is the TV / webOS which is messing arround with me.

After connecting my speakers to the HDMI-ARC, changing the TVs output to the HDMI 2 (ARC) is started the device configuration. I was glad, as typing in "Nubert" into the device selection of both "Home cinema system" or "Bluetooth / Soundbar", the webOS brought up a configuration to select.

During the "try-out" phase of the configuration process, turn on and off the power of the speakers works perfectly - even very fast! After configuration, sound comes through the speakers very well and I can adjust the volume. However, when I turn of the TV the speakers will remain on. Same vice versa when trying to turn everything on by only starting the TV.

Does anyone face a similar problem and might have a workaround for this? It is very frustrating and annoying, as it works perfectly in the configuration - but not later on.

Thanks for your help!

@JetForce  You might want to check via the smartphone app, that the auto on/off setting is set to active, so it has some "Staying power" as the TV might not be able to control this setting. Also read the notes:

(seen under the ADVANCED section)
– auto power
The nuPro’s electronics have an automatic standby function that automatically
switches the loudspeaker into power-saving mode when
it is not needed - and also switches it back on again automatically. If
the menu item off is selected here, this is automatically deactivated.
Note: For more information on the stand-by automatic function, see
page 6 in the Design and Engineering section (you need to email the company to get this I think).

However, as the HDMI/ARC adaptor goes into the USB socket on the speaker, see this section:
"Auto-on function
The automatic switch-off/switch-on reacts differently depending
on the pre-selected input. If no signal is present at the analog signal
inputs, an automatic switch-off takes place within 20 minutes.
Switching on is reversed as soon as a music signal is detected. At
the other inputs, the activity of the connected source device is monitored
and therefore immediately switched off or on. At the inputs
Spdif, Optical, Port, AES the presence of the digital data stream is
evaluated, while at the USB input the presence of the USB supply
voltage is considered.
Note: Modern computers often have USB sockets with a voltage
applied even when the computer is switched off (e.g. for charging
a mobile phone). If you want to use the auto-on function of your
nuPro active loudspeakers in conjunction with the USB input, you
must select a USB connector that does not have continuous voltage."

@td47: Good morning, thanks for your input here. I checked already out that function before and the function Auto On / Off was always activated. It also works for all other inputs, besides for the "Port"-input. Apparently, here happens exactly what's quoted in the description you copied. The HDMI-ARC adapter seems to get always power from it's USB plug and therefore the Auto On / Off function of the speakers is not working.

However, this goes a bit in a different direction that I was heading to. In my setup, I don't want to rely on the Auto On / Off function of the speakers themselves- I wanted to use the "Magic Remote" and HDMI ARC abilities of my LG TV. There, I would have expected that the TV sends a "Turn Off"-signal via HDMI ARC to the speakers and tell them to shut down too. Same when turning on the TV. And what's still mysterious to me, that it does work during the configuration mode. I can turn on and off the speakers by pressing a button on the TV during the test out phase of the HDMI ARC configuration. However, after completing that configuration, the only function which functions is adjusting the speakers volume with the Magic Remote. Unfortunately, the synchronization of the Power (even with the function activated) remains unfunctional.

Looking forward to any other suggestion.

@JetForce This is an interesting (but complex) issue. I assume that the HDMI CEC channel control (like anynet turn on/off stuff) is done by the LG TV device configurator software/firmware, but it is odd that it only works during the setup and test phase, but fails during normal working. This would suggest that this is either a firmware bug at the TV end, or some complex incompatibility, where a CEC standard has not been fully adhered to on one side (TV or your speakers). My suggestion would be to raise a call ticket with your speaker manufacturer, giving them as much detail as possible, to see if they have any new firmware  in test that might fix your issue. Depending on what they say, you could then push the issue back to LG, with the extra "knowledge" gained from NUBERT, as it could still be an LG firmware bug.

In the meantime, you might want to review the 2 links here, so you can add to your case technically if you need to, and rebutt any BS that either side comes back with:

@td47 Thank you for your detailed answers and participation in that problem! For now, I contacted Nubert describing the problem. The really looked into it coming up with the fact, that it is probably a firmware bug in the WebOS. They also mentioned the Auto-On-Off function of the speakers themselves as you already did, and that it also necessary to have connected the HDMI cable to a socket which is not always powered. However, this is a different pair of shoes.

I now opened up a ticket LG support, hoping for them to really have a look into it. I also took a video describing my problem.

Let's see if it helps anything.

The sound and picture are out of sync when screen mirroring from my iPhone 16 Pro to my LGQNED70A6A TV, using the internal speaker. I have tried all the recommended tips in the settings to cure the issue with no success. However, when I isolate the TV from the mains supply for 60 seconds and restart it, the syncing issue is cured but degrades after a day or so. My iPhone software is up to date and there is no firmware upgrade available for the TV. My LinkSys router has a full fibre connection. The only connection into the TV is the mains supply. Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have been using led strip in the back of the LG C4 tv, I lugged into the TV usb port. Usually the turn on when the TV turns on, and turn off when the TV is turned off. Starting today, the led strip stays on after the TV is turned off, meaning the USB port must be remaining active. I have checked and tried every setting I can see in the TV settings but nothing changes. How to make the usb ports turn off when the tv is turned off?

      Hi All,
My TV will only display a good pisture when using 1080 sdr 30hz. Anything different and certain content will appear washed out, blue or green tint on setup and streaming pages. I believe my TV is connected correctly as the picture is fine so long as it is 1080 sdr. Thoughts?
      Thanks in advance

What’s it like to live on Rebbenesøya – a remote Norwegian island more than 450 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle?
For Ann Eileen Lennert, an environmental anthropologist deeply passionate about nature, it’s both her sanctuary and workplace. There, she leads a kelp restoration project that explores the bonds between humans and the sea, finding purpose and peace along the way. Although her work often takes her far from her family, Ann has discovered that true connections can thrive – even across great distances.
Through a short documentary-style brand film, Ann’s story takes center stage in LG’s latest campaign, Radio Optimism, which highlights the meaning of genuine connections beyond superficial interactions in an era of growing disconnection.
We sat down with Ann to hear more about her life, her outlook and what “connectedness” truly means.
      Q. It’s wonderful to meet you! Can you briefly introduce yourself?
I’m an environmental anthropologist studying how people connect and interact with nature – how that bond can inspire conservation, restoration and a shared sense of responsibility. That we care. My work often takes me to remote areas, like Rebbenesøya, where building community and motivation through these efforts is at the heart of what I do.
      Q. LG’s Radio Optimism campaign focuses on connectedness. What drew you to this project?

At first, I thought of “connectedness” simply as staying close to my family while being physically apart. But over time, the idea expanded for me. It includes our connection to nature, to places and to one another.
That’s why the campaign felt so natural to me – it goes beyond superficial interactions and speaks to something much deeper. I honestly didn’t expect this emotional depth from a brand I typically associate with electronics. It was a pleasant and meaningful surprise.
      Q. What do you value most in your relationships? What makes a connection truly meaningful, especially when time together is limited?
For me, nothing compares to face-to-face interactions – you can read body language, feel someone’s energy and connect on a deeper level.
I treasure relationships where, even after a long time apart, it feels like no time has passed once we’re together. That’s a real connection.
Family is especially important. Ours is small, and we live far from relatives, so we work hard to stay close, honest and emotionally present despite the distance.

      Q. Being away from your children must be challenging. How do you stay connected with them?
It is hard, of course. But I deeply value the time we do spend together and try to keep our connection strong, even when we’re apart.
I involve my children in my work – whether that’s fieldwork, sailing or even free diving. Sharing these experiences helps us stay in sync and grow closer, even when I am away.
One of my favorite moments in the LG film was hearing the personalized song my children helped create through Radio Optimism. They mentioned many kind things of how they view me, not to mention my “embarrassing llama sweater” and “kelp earrings” – it was so sweet and funny, and a real reflection of how close we are as a family.
      Q. Does music play a big role in your life?
Absolutely! Music sets the tone for our moods and memories. We have special playlists for things like summer holidays, and I often start my day with a happy song.
It’s amazing how a song can instantly transport you back to a specific moment in time and reconnect you to memories.
      Q. If you could create a personalized Radio Optimism song for someone, who would it be?
I’d love to create one for my mother. She’s a big music lover and is going through a tough time right now. A song would be a heartfelt way to support and connect with her.
I’d also make one for my children – something playful about our shared memories, maybe even teasing them a little about who should take out the trash or empty the dishwasher. I believe in celebrating small, joyful moments however we can.
      Q. Your optimism really shines through when you talk about your work and family. How do you nurture it?
I’ve been called a “ray of optimism”, and I think it comes from spending time in nature – and sharing those moments with my family.
Nature teaches you perspective, humility and awe. And living in a close-knit community like Rebbenesøya helps too. My neighbors are kind, and there’s a deep sense of mutual care. We look out for one another.
Even on difficult days, I look for what I call a “positive prize” – something small to lift me up, whether it’s cooking, listening to music or simply going for a walk.

      Q. What’s next for you? Any projects or plans you’re excited about?
I want to continue exploring how connecting with nature and participating in citizen science activities can change people’s perceptions and care towards the environment. One of my biggest dreams is to establish underwater gardens, inspired by Korea’s Haenyeo! Learning from their wisdom and exploring what might be possible even in places like the Arctic Circle would be incredibly exciting.
This kind of work fuels me. It’s all about rebuilding our bonds and creating meaningful connections: with people, with nature and with a common goal. I believe this can create new values, experiences and memories, and I want our children and grandchildren to have these memories and connections too. That’s where I find happiness and motivation.
Life’s Good when we’re connected with a song.
Watch Ann’s story come to life in the Radio Optimism film (
