Hi all, last week I got my new LG 65" C4 Oled delivered.
I investigated using first a 32Gb memory stick for recording live programmes and pause live TV facility.
I was able to record programmes but the Live TV would not work 🥲
The LG usb is the slower 2.0 spec but I read that most low current SSD drives should still work fine with 2.0
Today I received a 240Gb drive with Sata to usb 3.0 cable (3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0).
I can confirm that everyting works fine and for just £17.40 I now have pause live TV and loads of space for recording programmes.
I used AliExpress and they if you buy using the "choice" option you get free 7day delivery to UK with detailed tracking 👍

      Hello all, quick question,
I have an LG Smart TV, with the latest firmware ( 04.50.56), that is connected to a PVR ( Cisco).  That PVR, via a cable company called Videotron,  has about 50 of exercise videos of 20 minutes recorded over that past years.  I wish to move away from my existing TV provider, but before doing so, I'm trying to figure out how to export the videos into an external drive ( USB, cloud) , so that I can re-use them. Some people have suggested to remove the hard drive from the PVR and export to a USB, but those files are encrypted.  So outside of using my Iphone and actually record the shows, is there a better quality way of doiing it?  I'm thinking some sort of app, that the TV can download, and then record to a USB drive for example.  Thanks for sharing any positive outcome.

I have an LG65UR80006LJ and when I plug my portable hard drive in to one of the USB ports, it lights up and sometimes the thumbnail folder gets added by the TV (I can see it when I plug the drive back into my PC) and twice now it has operated as expected and it appears as a device on the media app.
But it has only worked correctly twice and now doesn't find the drive at all, despite me having reformatted it and only add one file to the root directory (the first page if this makes sense; not buried in sub folders.)
Before I box the TV back up and send it back, is there anything else I need/can do as my 12 year old Philips smart tv has no problems what so ever finding the drive and playing the media on it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

      Hi everyone!!!
Lately I have a problem with my 40UH630V (OS Ver. 05.70.30). It takes too long for a hard drive or a USB stick to get it ready to play video files. That means that I have to plug in my hard drive or USB stick and wait for at least 4-5 minutes before I can play the video files, no matter what type/format they are. Sometimes I have to unplug and re-plug my drive so to read it.
Here I must point that both USB ports are clean with no dust or any corrosion, USB cables are new and fully functional and all hard drives and USB sticks are working perfectly on my 32LQ63806LC.
Also in some cases i get a message on TV for a format compatibility but I don't think this is the case, since if I wait 4-5 minutes (sometimes a bit more) then it reads them normally.
      Any ideas?

Hi, I have the option to right click and pick the subtitles on my Mac when watching movies in the VLC Player, but I can’t do this on the LG OLED, though. I already renamed the subtitle file to be the exact same as the video file and I did have the SRT file in the same folder where the movie is. However, when I connect the hard drive to the TV, the subtitle still doesn't appear. The format of my hardrive is NTFS. Can anyone please offer some advice?
