Noticed UK Freesat Satellite TV Guide does have a filter to view by Genre but the antenna Freeview  guide does not have this feature/function - why not?

    • Question: IPlayer / Freeview Play

I have a strange problem with freeview play and Iplayer on my 55 E6 I need help first is this the correct place to post
The problem started about 2 months ago
If i select a BBC program from the past by scrolling through the freeview guide Iplayer starts as usual But when it starts playing there is no picture or sound if subtitles are on you can see the the subtitles going by but no sound of picture.

if i start iplayer using the app UI to watch the same program it works fine
all other catch up works through the freeview guide
If i am watching a bbc program and press green to restart the program it works ok also
I have contacted Freeview they told me to contact BBC
I have contacted bbc iplayer help they told me to contact LG

I contacted John Lewis they sent an engineer he said he would report the issue to LG
I am told LG said they did not see it as a problem and would do nothing
I spoke to John Lewis again and was told LG tvs do not support Iplayer any more

I also have a 55uh850v that I use in my cinema as a 3d monitor this tv is olso webos3 this tv has exactly the same problem
I also have a 49UH610v this works perfectly
I also have a OLED55B7V this has the freeview guide disappearing problem that is well documented in "LG TV Freeview Play" forum but when its working the Iplayer works ok
I have 70mg fibre broad band and the tvs are on wired ethernet

I do not know what to do next

    • Question: Freeview play

I have a oled 55b7v and Freeview play has been unreliable for a while now it’s not working at all it brings up a dialogue box that says you need to be connected to the Internet but it is connected to fast Internet and all the apps work my 55b7v has changed now i get a screen asking me to agree to data exchange briefly appears if im quick i can agree but it makes no difference i have tried to speak to a technician at lg but just spoken to the telephone person who told me to have nothing else connected to my router that of course did not help. I have a stable 73mb connection I explained i can watch 4K netflix with no problem. If they know what the problem is they are not admitting it. I have a second hand ebay talktalk Youview box the guide is so much better it just works. I also have 55e6v and a uh850v the guide works on both ok but for the last few days bbc iplayer does not play through the freeview guide yet if i press green to restart a program its fine and if i use iplayer through its own UI its working ok. I also have a Uh610v and it works as it should freeview play works perfectly but painfully slow   this is really annoying

    • channel guide sync between multiple TV's

I have 3 LG TV's in the house. Would be nice to have apps, channel list, etc. sync between the TV's such that it's a seamless operation between them.

why is so hard to switch betwwen antenna & satellite channels ?   in fact it would be much better to just be able to mix antenna, cable and satellite channels so one can browse them (guide) all together

    • Sound interruption when activating EPG/Guide

When activating the EPG (Guide), the sound is interrupted for about 1 second for the current program (until the preview image is displayed). This is very annoying. Likewise when leaving the EPG. Please allow a "pleasant" transition here. Thanks!

First To Mass Produce Large Screen OLED TVs, LG Poised to Lead Market in Advanced Premium TV Technologies
BERLIN, Aug. 29, 2018 — Already a leader in advancing TV innovation with its OLED TVs, LG Electronics (LG) is introducing the world’s first 8K (7680 x 4320) OLED TV. Previewed at IFA 2018, the 88-inch class 8K LG OLED TV features over 33 million self-emitting pixels to produce the unmatched contrast ratio and true blacks that define OLED TV’s iconic picture quality.
With OLED TV shipments in the market expected to double in 2018 and reach over nine million units by 2022, LG will continue to increase the OLED share in its premium TV portfolio and drive large scale consumer adoption of OLED TVs. While the 8K TV market is still in its infancy, it is expected to grow to more than 5 million units by 2022, and LG is committed to leading the ultra-premium market with its 8K OLED TV technology.
Despite advancements in LCD field, OLED has been often referred to as the “nextgeneration display technology” because it emits its own light, eliminating the need for any kind of backlighting. This allows for state-of-art TVs which redefine both the picture quality and the product design. Not only was LG able to pioneer such technologies, but it was also able to successfully market them.
“LG’s first 8K OLED TV is the pinnacle of technological achievement and the next evolutionary step in display technology,” said Brian Kwon, president of LG Home Entertainment Company. “4K OLED played a major role in reshaping TV industry and LG is confident that 8K OLED will do the same.”

      Hi,
I am new to WebOS and trying to setup my environment. I followed the same steps mentioned here:
      http://webostv.developer.lge.com/sdk/install-instructions/installing-sdk/
After completing these steps, I found four new applications installed in my system: webOS TV CLI, webOS TV IDE, Oracle VirtualBox, webOS TV Emulator v3.0.0. Now, when I am trying to run Emulator, nothing is happening. I am using macOS High Sierra.

Can someone please help me out in this? ☹️
