47LB650V: How can I turn off subtitles in MKV file?

Question

Hi!

While playing MKV files via SmartShare (LG 47LB650V) I get subtitles turned on by default. The Subtitles button on remote does nothing. How can I turn them off without modifying the file?

Thanks.

1) Play your movie

2) Hit Pause.

3) In the Pause menu click on the little arrow on the right hand side.

4) Click on the button that says 'Sub'

5) Click on Internal or External

6) There is the hidden menu

7) On the left is button Sub On/Off.

Does anybody know how to turn off subtitles by default? I'm sick and tired of turning them off on every movie..

The default on subtitle is on your mkv file itself.  You can use mvkmerge (MKVToolNix) to change default to no subtitle.

      Hi all!

I have a LG 42LB630V, with the latest firmware installed.

I want to know if it is possible to change the audio language, for a mkv file that has more than an audio language and how to add external subtitles. Those embeded in mkv files are running ok.

      Thank you,
      Cipria

Would you please add one or two shades of gray to the subtitle colour selection in the inbuilt video player (Photos and Videos app ) ? White is blinding on the OLED screen in a dark room while watching dark scenes. Also a bit thicker shadow/outline would be nice.

      Hi
I got an LG OLED today, I only have a Sky Q as input (no other devices). I want to stop using the Sky Q remote, which button on the LG magic remote acts like the "Home" or "Sky" buttons on the Sky Q Remote?
The magic remote can pause/play and power off the sky q box as well as navigate the menu (after I call it up) all with single button pushes. But to get the sky menu - I cannot find a way to get a single button push on the LG to bring the sky q menu up. I found a couple of ways
      1) press the STP power button twice (off / on = brings menu up on power up)
      2) press the ... (three dots) button then scroll down to menu from the pop up menu.

I want a single button to bring up the Sky menu ... any ideas? Maybe it's possible to configure the 4 coloured buttons or the GUIDE button on the LG remote to map to the Sky Home/Menu feature
      Thanks in advance
      Dave

      Hi all,
Why is file downloading not supported, and can it be enabled to download files to an external ssd, connected to the tv, to play later ?
