  7. I posted this request on our Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus pages.
  8. No you can't upgrade if it wasn't built with webOS. This is what LG has stated to other users. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. If it didn't ship with webOS, I don't believe you can install it at this point.
  10. Funny...but I think you would need to compare tizen to hp webos/palm webos not lg webos, as lg webos is alive and well on tvs....
  11. HP webOS Cloud Services to end January 15, 2015 Cloud services support for webOS devices will be ending on January 15, 2015. We appreciate our customer's loyalty the webOS platform. But now, more than three (3) years after the last device was sold, only a small fraction of the devices are still connecting. Therefore, the time has come to shut down the services. All devices running webOS devices will continue to run after the cloud services are terminated. However, they will no longer be able to: Download new apps or updates. The HP App Catalog will be unavailable after the shutdown Backup or restore devices from the cloud Setup new devices Recover lost passwords The HP App Catalog will stop supporting new app purchases on November 1, 2014 Updates may be posted by developers until November 10, 2014 and users can download any available updates until the services shut down You should make arrangements to backup or transfer your contacts, etc.prior to the service shutdown on January 15, 2015 You will no longer be able to backup, restore, reset or initialize a webOS device as of January 15, 2015 There will be additional reminders as the final shutdown approaches. 12. I think we will see allot of new things in 2015 and especially at CES in January. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That would really be something! LG's success with webos relies heavily on how they go about making their ecosystem of apps. TVs, smart watches, appliances, and phones all tied in and working together could make quite an ecosystem and lead to addon sales for them. My suggestion would be to release a phone and tablet with an android app compatibility layer and tap into that ecosystem while they build theirs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. More stories have popped up on the web: http://www.slashgear.com/lg-webos-smartwatch-plans-revealed-02348791/ http://thenextweb.com/gadgets/2014/10/02/lg-hints-webos-smartwatch-development/ http://www.pcworld.com/article/2690901/lg-might-bring-webos-to-smartwatches.html http://www.cnet.com/news/lgs-webos-may-power-a-smartwatch/
  16. Topic pinned and added TV to the title to distinguish firmware from any future devices outside of TVs.
  17. Topic moved to LG webOS TV Discussion
  18. There is also a rumor going around that this was one of the plans before some of the developers left to go work at pebble. LG has not commented to say yes or no at this point. January will be CES 2015, maybe an unveiling?
  19. So it begins...LG might be making a webOS Smartwatch! http://www.engadget.com/2014/10/02/lg-webos-smartwatch/ The Verge has found an LG-sponsored website, since pulled, that promises a development kit for a webOS smartwatch is coming. Ironically, the reveal comes only a few months after LG lost two webOS designers to wearable rival Pebble.....
  20. I agree, flash support would be helpful.
  21. For those of you that are webos users from the early palm days to the HP acquisition will remember this guy, who got ousted and then replaced by Leo Apotheker, which caused the spiral down of webOS with HP. Leo canned the Touchpad and "fire saled" it out. Many speculate if Mark Hurd was the CEO, things would have been different with HP and webOS. Larry Ellison is stepping down: http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/18/larry-ellison-safra-catz-mark-hurd-ceo-oracle/
  22. That's a good suggestion, at least an option.
