Since few days, DLNA only working for music, images and video is black screen

Kuriko

Question

Hey, I have 3 NAS (DLNA) successfully connected to my OLED65C97LA since months and from one day to another all three have the same issue. So I must be a bug in LG TV? But I do not know what to do?

- I can click on all 3 DLNA and its open a choice box for "music" or "image and video".

- Click on all 3 DLNA for "music" and I get access to this DLNA and see my music files and can play it.

- Click on all 3 DLNA für "image and video" and I get now only a black screen. I can move the cursor and open menus, but DLNA is black.

Am I the only one with this problem?

@Kuriko Have you checked that you have the latest firmware on you LG TV, and all your DLNA devices have the latest software or firmware on them too?

It is unclear from your post, if the "image and video" option has always failed, or only started failing recently. Please clarify, and also if it failed after a TV firmware update.

My TV have always newest firmware. Currently version 05.00.10 (auto-update) Unfortunately, there is no indication when the update was made.

Synology NAS have newest updates, Fritzbox 7590 media server have newest update, Windows 10 DLNA server is up-to-date.

I have this tv nearly 8 months and DLNA always working without any issues. I have since few days this same issue with all 3 independent DLNA servers. So must be a problem with LG TV ( webOS).

And browsing in music its working, only the second option to browse image+video failes with black screen.

@Sune Interesting, is your TV a C series OLED like @Kuriko TV model? It would be useful to find a common denominator here (a pattern), to see if this is related to a recent firmware update to your LG TV models. His TV is an OLED65C97LA, and I see that the latest firmware for that was dated 12/08/2020 (hopefully European format, NOT USA!).

"[05.00.10]
1. Add link for LG TV contents policy notice (German Only)
2. Software update contains minor bug fixes"

If it IS from August last year, I would be very surprised if the "minor bug fixes" would have caused a problem to surface now in 2021! Unless the in-built player in the TV has had an update? Are you using the "Smartshare" TV app, or something else?

I exactly have the same problem. The music player shows all the files, but the photo/video player only shows a black screen.

@td47 Is their another way to view video/photos from a DLNA server? I just use the source selection to select the media server. Is that the "Smartshare" TV app you asked after? What other alternativ app might also play videos/view photos?

webOS updated, I think to 2023, on my C2 a couple of days ago. Since then the News option on the Sky News app no longer works, instead timing out. The Weather and Climate options still work, though.
I have deleted and reloaded the Sky News app, but the problem remains.
Does anybody have any suggestions of what I might try to get this working again, or is this something for LG, or Sky, to fix?

      Hey everyone,
I'm new here, so first of all, hello I'm delos.
I own two LG OLED55G19 TVs, one at home and one elsewhere. At home, I have a QNAP NAS (TS451) with DLNA functionality. Accessing it at home works great.
The "Home" and "External" networks are connected via VPN. Thus, both networks have different network addresses.
Now I want to access the home network from the external network with the LG via VPN in order to integrate the DLNA server. The LG doesn't "see" the external server because it's not in the same network. However, I wonder why you can't just enter the IP address of the server in the LG.
      Does anyone have a solution?

      Many greetings
      delos

We have a 65UM7300AUE with software version 05.40.10. We have a Google TV dongle plugged into the HDMI 1 port and that is the input we use most of the time. Until recently every time we would turn the TV on it would default to HDMI 1 and the Google TV home screen would be the first thing we’d see. Life was good. Several weeks ago that changed and now the LG OS (I assume) home screen is the first thing we see. Then we have to use the LG remote to select HDMI 1 each time. We never used to have to do this or use the LG remote at all. Kind of annoying. We think we have HDMI 1 chosen as our default input but it doesn’t seem to matter. Any ideas on how we get things back to the way they used to be with the TV defaulting to HDMI 1 automatically?

      Hi,
I have my LG 4K Smart TV -Model : 43UJ632T.
I could not able to use the Wireless Keyboard ( Logitech K230) with Builtin Apps like Youtube, Amazon Prime or in Netflix to search. I could able to use only thru Magic Remote.
But the same Keyboard is working fine in Google Movies & SunNXT apps.
Could you please help me in fixing the same.
      Thanks,
      Sriram.
