Okay I got further! It seems its very picky with filesystem... I had one with NTFS and various with exFAT, the previous didn't work and from the later only one out of three.

I exactly have the same problem. The music player shows all the files, but the photo/video player only shows a black screen. @td47 Is their another way to view video/photos from a DLNA server? I just use the source selection to select the media server. Is that the "Smartshare" TV app you asked after? What other alternativ app might also play videos/view photos?
