    Amazon webOS

So the latest rumor now is that Amazon is heavily involved in a buyout attempt of webOS... "Amazon is the latest company to be linked to the buyout of Palm, with the e-tailer heavily linked to purchasing the likes of WebOS from HP." http://www.techradar.com/news/computing/amazon-thrown-into-the-webos-buyout-rumour-mix-1030599
  2. I have to agree on that. News is slow in webos land, I am keeping my fingers crossed for some new direction.
  3. The pre 2 on ebay seems to be going up in price, I suppose it's demand and lack of quantity.
  4. Yesterday I received the official cancellation emailabout my verizon pre 2....looks like I'mstuck on my pixi, not sure what I'mgoing to do. Needed a verizon handset.
  5. I don't think anyone wants webos at this point. Rumors are drying up. Hopefully we'll get some new rumors this coming week...lol.

  10. Just got an email stating that my pre2 order was cancelled. No pre2 for me. Don't know how long I will be able to live on a verizon pixi plus....

    HTC webOS

Well, the rumor mill has begun again, with stories flying all over the internet about HTC looking into buying an OS for themselves. Just a little over a week ago the rumor was Samsung, until that was slammed down by their CEO as "never". HTC chairwoman Cher Wang made some comments that they are entertaining the idea of purchaisng their own. The likely os should be webOS, but could it really be? A few things about this... Does HP want to sell rather than license? They made a mention of licensing it to expand it's reach. Is webOS a failing OS from a corporate view, having started in Palm and gone to HP, with little success against the likes of iOS and Android? Has the recent Touchpad Firesale added enough new users to build a more desireable ecosystem? Can HTC be successful with webOS and adding maybe HTC Sense as a layer or even rebranding webOS? Can HTC benefit from all those Palm patents in it's fights againts Apple? How big of a risk would it be for HTC? If HTC does buy it, should they rebrand it? All these bullet points are just a few of the questions you see started by users out there. The diehard webOS users like myself (opening day palm pre user) are just waiting for some light at the end of the tunnel, and a company like HTC with successful hardware, running webOS, Beats audio, and a layer of some Sense...just makes sense. Imagine an EVO sporting webOS, we never had a slab phone...how would that sell? Yes, that would be interesting. We can only hope! (I'm not getting my hopes up just yet)
  15. Maybe try running the 1.4.5 doctor witha fresh install?
  16. I don't know why it was never added...
  17. On AT&T? Does touch to share work?
  18. Thanks for the tip! I'll have to go get one if I ever get my touchpad!
  19. Ah, your using the new community app...right? Nice. Start a new thread and post some screenshots...unless you are under a NDA that is...
  20. Ah ok makes sense...maybe they're going in a landfill?
  21. My order at HP for my Touchpad is now showing under the column planned delivery date : date will follow....whatever that means.
  22. I think the ATT phones were GSM that passed through the FCC, so they can be sold in Europe, no?
