Trying to programme my magic remote to control an Amlogic OTT, however keep getting a ‘temporary issue occurred’ when I try. I’ve been trying for over a week now, so this temporary issue isn’t so temporary!

Hey, any updates on this?

I just reset my tv to factory setting (to get the fireworks pause screen back, don’t judge haha) and now I get the same issue when trying to add universal control to my JBL sound bar.

The most annoying part is that I get to try turning my sound bar on/off using the Magic Remote, but when I press “yes” to confirm the setting, I get the issue prompt… even though there clearly is no issue controlling the sound bar before I try to saving the setting.

Looks like others have had the same issue with the "temporary error" when setting up universal control. A few things you can try:

  1. Make sure your TV and remote are updated to the latest software.
  2. Try resetting the remote and the TV to factory settings again.
  3. If it's still not working, try unpairing the remote from the TV and pairing it again.

If these don't help, reaching out to LG support might be the next best step. Hope that helps!

I too have got this issue. I am trying to control my Virgin 360 box with the LG Magic remote. The TV initially recognised my 360 box but I could only use on/off and volume controls with the LG remote. Then I tried to set up the tv/remote manually, but got this so-called “Temporary Error - please try later message”. This has been going on for days. I don’t want to do a factory reset if possible as I have changed many settings on the TV and it seems that it won’t fix the problem anyway according to other comment on this thread.  How can I resolve?

This keeps happening to me. I cannot get my C1 to recognise my Sky Q Mini box.  Usually I don't get as far as the screen dump attached. I have reset my TV, reset my Sky box, reset my remote AND changed the batteries but nothing works. After powering OFF the Tv for 5 minutes I get as far as the picture shows but that is it. I have tried all four HDM ports and different HDMI cables. Running out of ideas now.

I've had Universal Control via the smart remote sucessfully controlling the audio (volume) for my LG OLED 48C1LB tv via my Sherwood RD-6118R amp for a while now; But following a power cut, the remote no longer controls the amp/tv volume?
The audio IS still being played through the amp using the optical OUT/IN but I have no control of the volume
I've removed and re-initialised the settings for this amp in Universal Control Settings but following the "success" message, the remote does not control the volume on the amp/tv.
      What am I missing?

      hi, Friends,

i have finally fixed the HDMI ARC issue.
Apparently some people also had the same issue and couldnt figure out whats wrong.
After reading through AVSForums, I finally understood that LG had a bug in HDMI operation as well..

The problem happens when your TV is already sending sound through HDMI ARC to a AVR and you try to connect additional sources like dth or blueray player to additional HDMI ports of TV and AVR. Once you add additional sources, you might try to use LG's device connector setting to control the device and this is where HDMI ARC stops working.

      Solution:
disconnect all hdmi ports of TV and AVR.
      Full reset TV and AVR.
Only Connect HDMI ARC port of TV with HDMI ARC OUT of AVR. Enable ARC feature on both TV and AVR. Open LG TV internal app,
and check if sound is coming properly to AVR.
Now you Connect All additional sources to other HDMI ports of TV and nothing should be connected to AVR.
You may use LG device connector setting to configure the magic remote to control them.

      MY current setup of TV:
      HDMI 1: Airtel DTH.
HDMI 2: ARC connected to Denon AVR 1500H.
HDMI 3: ACT Television(Using this to play hotstar premium content as LG inbuilt APP is not playing it)

      Good news:
LG magic remote can control all 3 devices seamlessly and thats a great ease for customers.
I shall appreciate LG for this.

LG’s Radio Optimism Campaign Inspires People to Share Their Love With Family
and Loved Ones Through One-of-a-Kind AI Songs

SEOUL, Sep. 25, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) today announced the success of its AI-powered Radio Optimism campaign, which revealed a universal truth: despite the rapid advances in technology, love and gratitude toward family and loved ones remain life’s foremost priorities.
Available in six languages, the creative platform inspired people globally to create more than 700,000 personalized songs. These AI-generated tracks – listened to and shared over 1.5 million times – underscored the enduring importance of human connection across cultures.
Designed to counter the sense of disconnection often associated with social media, Radio Optimism invited users to write a message to a loved one, select a genre and vibe and generate a one-of-a-kind AI song. By turning music into a heartfelt gesture, the campaign brought LG’s Life’s Good brand promise into the digital spaces where people most often connect.
Messages of love proved most prominent, appearing in over 30 percent of the songs, followed by messages of gratitude and encouragement. Family emerged as the most frequent recipient, followed by friends, reaffirming that when it comes to care and affection, people turn first to those closest to them.
The campaign drew an overwhelming response, generating over 30 million social engagements worldwide and 2.4 billion views of its content. Partnerships with global and local influencers amplified its reach, including Australian father-daughter duo Ben and Zara,
link hidden, please login to view, and Brazilian creator Jessie Shen, . The campaign also captured unique cultural moments, such as sports fans crafting team anthems and pet owners dedicating songs to their companions, illustrating the evolving ways people express and share what matters most.
“Through this creative campaign, we believe we helped people rediscover the enduring values that remain unchanged even in times of change and volatility,” said Kim Hyo-eun, head of LG’s Brand Management Division. “It deeply resonated with people worldwide, reflecting the lasting value of Life’s Good. We will continue to engage with them, upholding this promise and inspiring optimism for a better life.”
The Radio Optimism campaign demonstrates how AI, when used thoughtfully, can strengthen emotional bonds in the digital age. By enabling users to create personalized songs trained on properly licensed music from original artists, LG upheld its commitment to responsible innovation while fostering a global movement of optimism and meaningful connection.

I have a  42 inch LG OLED evo AI C4 4K Smart TV 2024 with a USE6S soundbar connected via HDMI.
Up until a few days ago, the iPhone app was connected via WiFi. I could use it to control the sound effect.
The sound bar remote could also change the sound effect, and the volume with the volume control visible on the TV screen.
Now the iPhone app does not connect to the soundbar and the remote control doesn't appear to alter the volums: there's no on screen display.
And also, the TV WOWcast output is not 'sticky': that it to say I can select it, and it remains for a time, but drops.
