I play video files from a USB stick via the Photos and Videos app - is there any way to show which files have been played most recently? I generally watch downloaded series but tend to forget which episode I watched last!

I have been watching video files for 3 years now on my LG and have not found a way to do that either. I am interested in this subject also. BTW I also forget sometimes which episode I watched  last and would like to find a way for the OS to delete a file.

@Rod Roderick For external media sources, I don't think there is a way to do this, as the TV has no way of indexing and detecting/remembering Viewed Date, or partially viewed etc. The scheduled recordings to an external USB HDD drive via Time Machine II MIGHT show this, BUT I have never found that to be very smart as regards programme files naming (especially if started early compared with the TV GUIDE names/times). The interface is very clunky, and far inferior to external PVR boxes like Foxtel or Sky, or FETCH Mighty.

It is possble that the PLEX TV client might help, but you will need to set up a NAS to hold your recordings, and have PLEX index them using a PLEX Server.

      I know this was mentioned before. I'd like to support this.
      WebOS is such a great and versatile system; a real media centre. BUT: I have a number of video files that it simply doesn't play. VLC, e.g. does, but is not available. 
      To me it is such a pity that I have to have a system in parallel (actually a PC!) to play those files, with VLC, and then switch to HDMI to watch the clips on my TV. This doesn't look very much like 2026, as far as I am concerned.
      To give an example, in which nothing is spectacular, and yet it doesn't play:

      Better yet: add something like VLC or at least Dragon. Make it available; even if the warranty was void, I'd prefer to load such an application.

      How internal subtitles are selected for MKV files?

      If I play an MKV video from a USB drive that contains multiple subtitle tracks with correct language tags, will webOS automatically select the appropriate subtitles, for example based on the TV interface language or the country where the TV is being used? Or it will just select first one/makred as fefault?

      Prime Video unable to update/install on LG TV OLED65G36LA WebOs 8.20.0-710

      Hi there,
       
      I have an LG smart TV OLED65G36LA (LG OS v03.20.17, webOS TV version 8.20.0-710) , and the Prime Video App was no longer able to update (from Dec 2025) and therefore could no longer be used.
      I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing, and that was unable to work, so then applied a full reset on the LG TV and so had to reinstall all of my other apps (Apple TV, Netflix, etc etc) which all successfully downloaded so confirmed network connections and setup are all confirmed working.
      When I try to download the Prime Video app, it remains stuck on the download screen and is unable to update.

      Hello there!
      Recently the prime video app started to require the update to open, and now i am having a problem, because this app update REQUIRES to a system update of firmware (to webos24),
      but it will make impossible to homebrew later.
      So, can someone at least provide the last or update ipk of amazon (amazon.ipk), so i can install manually?
