So basically I just got a new LG OLED TV (55 inch C5) and my Dad's C4 was seemingly able to display internal or embedded subtitles in TV shows through the built-in media player from external USB storage just fine with some tinkering in the menus.
But with mine, the subtitles are displaying all of the raw text in the subtitle files in the player, not using the arguments properly at all.
Pictures included for reference
Is there any way to fix this other than literally doing subtitles for every episode externally, in a seperate file?
These subtitles work fine when I play from the exact same storage device on my phone through VLC, and again on my Dad's LG TV

Hi Everyone,
i purchase qned706a i found a great tv and picture quality its awesome i know its not like oled but for me its more than enough, but i have one issue with it.
i got LG based on my previews experience with my brother tv its a nanocell lg from 2017, it's media player able to run all movie without any issue, i was shocked that my 2025 tv won't able to run DTS audio, i mange to add another audio track to my move as EAC3 its working perfect, but what's drive me crazy is that some video file MKV don't work at all showing me "this file cannot be recognised. and its working on the 2017 model without issue ! why is that DTS have some license issue ok but i don't call a video file have license too the video track shows HEVC (H265 Main 10 @L5.1), i try same video on samsung tv and it work on it i don't know why lg don't support it !
finally i try check other media player app and it seem lg don't support such app, and i read about Kodi app and i try it on dev mode but i didn't like it and the experience wasn't perfect i have some greenish pixel, but it was able to run the video and even run file with DTS audio, which take me to my final question.
if Kodi manage to run the video and audio fine, why LG media player didn't, and if its about license why they not allowed 3rd party app like VLC to publish their software !!
i hope LG focus on user experience and not nonsense AI that no one will use.

Kinetic OLED Installation Showcases Company’s Vision for
the Future of Immersive Display Technology
SEOUL, Oct. 28, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) reaffirmed its leadership in OLED innovation with a breathtaking installation at APEC 2025 in Gyeongju, South Korea. LG showcased a kinetic media chandelier composed of 28 transparent 77-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED T TVs, mesmerizing global leaders and delegates from around the Asia-Pacific region.
First unveiled at CES 2025, the OLED chandelier returns to APEC 2025 with the pinnacle of visual storytelling made possible with transparent LG OLED TVs. The installation features the world’s first transparent and true wireless OLED TVs created into a technological splendor that is designed to be appreciated from every angle. Each panel gracefully moves – opening and closing like the petals of a kinetic sculpture – revealing LG OLED’s hallmark features of perfect black, vivid colors and slim design. In sync with hanging lights, the screens transition fluidly between transparent and opaque modes, transforming the atmosphere with immersive visual sequences: interstellar showers, drifting clouds, underwater landscapes and stained-glass finales.
Powered by LG’s True Wireless technology, the chandelier eliminates visible cables and delivers flawless 4K transmission without latency, blurring the line between display and artistic visualization.
The LG SIGNATURE OLED T demonstrates the versatility of OLED technology in immersive environments and reflects LG’s broader vision for OLED – transforming displays into premium, form-factor-free solutions that seamlessly integrate into everyday spaces. Also redefining home entertainment, the product has been recognized with major international design honors – including Red Dot, iF and IDEA Awards – and was recently named Best of IFA and Best in Home Entertainment at IFA 2025, affirming its global acclaim.
APEC 2025 brings together leaders and innovators from 21 Asia-Pacific economies to foster inclusive growth and innovation. LG’s presence at this influential summit highlights its commitment to shaping the future of display technology and driving meaningful progress across industries.

Title says it all. Install a new 50 inch LG tv. For every app and App Store it displays that message. I have a great network and the TV is approx 30 feet from the wifi router. It will play TV (not sure if that is coming over the air) and the phone app sees and can control the TV but not one app will work?
Any ideas or just return it?
Thanks

The LG WebOS Plex App will not start without internet access even though the App is used to access local Media from a Plex Sever on the local network. Samsung, Roku, AppleTV Plex Apps ALL work on the local network playing local Media even if internet access is not available. This is a dealbreaker. I will NOT purchase anymore LG TV’s unless this issue is corrected. The app simply states that “Internet is Not Accessible” and will not continue to load. I don’t care if the internet is not available. My local network IS available and is all that is needed.
