How do I delete a media server from my TV?

Hey everyone,

 

I recently bought a new LG SmartTV (43UN71) and I see it is connected to a laptop of my roommate (who doesn't own the TV). It is connected as a media server and this is really bothering me, because they have streamed Youtube once to my TV (by accident), but I do not remember ever granting permission for their laptop to connect to my TV. 

How do I remove their laptop as a media server from my TV?

@Taigini Your "room mate" is presumably using YOUR internet service, therefore using the same Home network that your TV is on? if so, then the ONLY way I can think of to stop him doing that, is to log into your router, and create a "guest" account for him to use exclusively, with his own account and password.  Then you will have to change the "normal" WiFi password and keep it secret.

If you have never logged into your router before, Google the make/model details for the default account, and PLEASE change the admin account password from "admin" to a secure password if not done already, otherwise it opens up a BIG security hole for hacking. The check if you model supports guest accounts (many do, just for your sort of situation, or for when friends stay over).

      Brand new LG TV (WebOS 8x) WILL NOT stay off when turned off with the remote?  Out of the box, connected to internet, seems to have been updated, and working fine.  But when I hit the power off with the remote, the TV reports 'Life is Good' seems to turn off, i.e. go into standby, and then a few seconds later, turns back on.  If the device connected to the TV on the last active HDMI port is OFF, I get the No Signal warning.  So I know the active HDMI input is not generating any signal.  I want to believe that any other device on any other HDMI port might be an issue? But then the TV would switch to that HDMI port, no?  This is really an issue!  If I use the phone app I can turn off the TV and it seems to stay off, at least does not come back on in a few seconds like the remote?  If I send 'standby' via HDMI-CEC, that seems to work as well, the TV seems to stay in standby mode.  This a bug?

      It is impossible to install some apps for regional TV channels because the browser is incompatible. How do I update the browser or how do I install a different browser on my TV ? Downloading a file is not supported.  Automatic update is active. Thanks in advance.

      I recently updated the firmware on my  LG43UH610V.  Now I constantly get "Wired Lan cable disconnected" / "Wired network is connected" messages even while watching a video file from my NAS. The TV is connected and using the network while getting these messages. It has always been on a fixed IP address on the LAN.

      YouTube App isn't running in 4k

      I just purchased the LG UHD 43UP76 advertised as real 4k however the YouTube App is running at 1080p.  Which means 4k content is downsampled to 1080p then reupsampled to fit the 4k pixel grid and the image quality is awful.
      i assume WebOS runs at 1080p and simply upscales to 4k on low end 4k TVs, this same with high end TVs??
