LG 42LB6500 is having trouble with display. Fire TV stick, prime video and set top box video are not getting displayed and only audio works. It looks like this is a software issue (current version 05.05.55) and I am not able to fix it by updating software to 05.05.70 via internet (image below) or through usb. Please advice.

@LG user 42LB6500-TH Just to clarify: 1) are you using an AV Receiver for sound/surround sound?  2) Did any of the input devices USED to work before, or has the "problem" just occurred?

3) Did the issue start just after the update to  05.05.55?

4) Does the Live TV, or  other APPS on the TV work correctly for sound and video?

SUGGESTION: Remove all devices, unplug the TV from mains power, hold its power button for 30 seconds, plug TV back to power, then check each input device individually, either using the HDMI ARC, or an input for DVD players, sometimes marked "BD". If one device works in one socket, experiment with the other one to see which input works best.

If you DO use an AV Receiver amp, then you will need to plug those devices into the input sockets of your AVR, and  retest (but bear in mind that not all units are HDMI-CEC compliant, so you may need to turn HDMI-CEC off for those devices, and the AVR HDMI Port.

Yes - all the devices used to work. It is only after the update to 05.05.55, set top box, fire tv stick and chromecast started failing and only dark screen is displayed. I am not able to update the firmware as well to fix this issue.

No app is working for video. Is it an issue with refresh rate between TV and devices?

@LG user 42LB6500-TH  Refresh rate is ONLY to do with screens, devices connected should have no bearing on the issue.

Did you try an empty USB stick, downloading the ZIP file from the LG site on your PC/Laptop, then unzip the file into the ROOT of the USB stick (i.e. NOT in a folder), then following the USB firmware install steps?

Yes - I tried USB as software update was not happening via networks. The disk was not recognized and after multiple attempts, I gave up. I called LG customer care and they said this is a mother board issue and I've replaced mother board. Now the TV is working fine. Thanks!

Since my lg-oled65c9pla auto-updated to WebOS 5.5, there is a new bug.
The TV is connected to my Cambridge Audio Evo 75 amplifier over ARC - on powering the TV, it has always started up the amp, and switched it to use audio, instead of the appalling TV speakers. The whole setup has worked flawlessly for 5 years, but since WebOS 5.5, the amplifier starts, but is left in a muted state, and using the un-mute or volume controls on the TV remote makes no difference to turning on audio. The only way to get audio to play though my amp a speakers is to turn the amp's volume dial or press a volume button on the a amp's remote - this then unmutes the TV and audio is back.
There is no setting I can find in the TV that relates to whether the ARC channel starts muted or not...
No software has changed in my amp.  This is an annoying new bug in the TV software, I assume down to some CEC changes.

I have a LG 65QNED92AUA tv that has issues with the Bluetooth connection dropping off when connected to my earbuds. I believe the issue to be software related. LG has sent 2 technicians out to repair and the first technician changed the main board and Bluetooth transmitter which did not resolve the issue.
There are similar issues with Bluetooth Connection from others.
Since hardware replacement didn’t help and this is a known software-pattern issue, I would like push LG to specifically address it at the firmware/webOS level. I am unable to escalate to their software team and check if there’s a known patch or beta firmware for the QNED92 line.
For some reason this line of questioning is not available with in LG customer service.
       Please help!

I've just updated my LG 55UM75 TV to the latest software version - 05..20.15 - and now the picture looks off.
I've turned off TruMotion, Motion Eye Care, Smooth Gradation, Noise Reduction and Smooth Gradation, but somehow everything still looks artificial.
Is there another picture setting I'm missing, I've gone through every setting I can find.

      Hi there,

I have an LG smart TV OLED65G36LA (LG OS v03.20.17, webOS TV version 8.20.0-710) , and the Prime Video App was no longer able to update (from Dec 2025) and therefore could no longer be used.
I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing, and that was unable to work, so then applied a full reset on the LG TV and so had to reinstall all of my other apps (Apple TV, Netflix, etc etc) which all successfully downloaded so confirmed network connections and setup are all confirmed working.
When I try to download the Prime Video app, it remains stuck on the download screen and is unable to update.
      Thanks

I have a Denon AVR hooked up to the HDMI 2 input on my LG tv. When I initially set it up, I was able to control the volume of the Denon receiver by using the LG remote. I enabled CEC Simplink and eARC on the TV and this allowed me to not only use the volume but also turn the receiver on and off automatically with the TV. Recently, my LG tv installed a software update and ever since that point, the TV reverts to TV Audio instead of HDMI 2 every time I turn the TV off and back on again. I then have to change the sound setting to HDMI and the volume control works perfectly.

Any tips? I already tried unplugging everything including the HDMI cables, turning CEC and eARK off and back on again, and reverting to all original settings but nothing seems to work.
My Denon receiver does not have eARC support, not sure if that matters but I'd love to know the best way to set it up to control volume through one remote.
