I am considering to by a LG smart TV with WebOS.

I could not find any information - neither with search engines nor with forum search -

whether I could connect from my PC to an LG-TV via SSH and use the TV

as a graphical X-terminal.

For optimal  performance I assume that x2go would be optimal.

Unless this is already available, I would ask you to put this on your to-do-list.

Many thanks

Christoph

As far as I know you can not use an LG smart TV as a graphical X-terminal. You can use DNLA, or screen sharing or use a HDMI cable.

Furthermore, there are no LG employees here to deliver a to-do-list. This is a user to user support forum like it says on the top of the page:

I have a  LG OLED55C14LB WebOS TV in the same room as my xubuntu desktop computer and router.

I have installed Gnome Network Displays on the Linux PC and both machines are on the same 5G network.

When I connect the PC to the TV via WiFi the TV puts up a 'cancel' option and no option to connect. The Network display app only has an option to 'Return' which closes the connection.

If I do nothing and wait the connection times out and returns to the TV program. The TV is obviously waiting for permission to connect.

I cannot see any way to 'accept' the connection via the TV remote. Can anyone tell me how to accept the connection?
In addition, is it possible to have the TV remember the WiFi password? Passwords are complex nowadays and it is a pain to keep having to input it. This make casting your desktop a chore.

      Hey everyone,
I'm new here, so first of all, hello I'm delos.
I own two LG OLED55G19 TVs, one at home and one elsewhere. At home, I have a QNAP NAS (TS451) with DLNA functionality. Accessing it at home works great.
The "Home" and "External" networks are connected via VPN. Thus, both networks have different network addresses.
Now I want to access the home network from the external network with the LG via VPN in order to integrate the DLNA server. The LG doesn't "see" the external server because it's not in the same network. However, I wonder why you can't just enter the IP address of the server in the LG.
      Does anyone have a solution?

      Many greetings
      delos

      Hello,
Since my TV updated to the last WebOS firmware 05.20.08, quick access key (Long Press 1 for HDMI1, Long press 2 for HDMI2) are reset each time i shutdown the TV, and i have to set them after each reboot...
I tried to restore the factory default settings on the TV to see if there is any change, but sadly this didn't fixed my problem.
      Any idea please ?

      Hello,
I connected an hard drive to my LG OLED TV via USB. My TV is connected to my home network via Ethernet, as is my computer.
I would like to access the hard disk from my computer. Is this possible? How can I do this with Windows 10?
Note that I don't want to connect my hard drive directly to my computer but to my TV (because my home network is quite unstable).
I thank you in advance for all your help.
