I just put an M4A file on my NAS and was really surprised that I couldnt play it using the LG TV's network explorer with error 'file type not supported'. Will this be added soon as it is a fairly standard file format that all websites I've read agree is better quality and better compression than mp3.

Yeah, LG TVs sadly do not support many of "used a lot" formats and i still don't know why. some of them or most of them are open source too. :/ , for me personally my whole library of show is encoded in x264 10bit. those also are not supported :( 

I hope LG would add support for this or at least give us a software option within the store to install additional Codecs if we need them. our TVs are fully capable of running those. come on LG you can do that!  don't make us thing those who bought the Andriod TV version made the right choice and we made the wrong one. more support for Codecs was never bad. never!.

      Our LG TV does not show files properly when a new file is added in a directory.
      We have a Synology diskstation ethernet drive with DLNA and if we download a new file (in the dedicated download folder) or we copy a file from a PC to a folder, the file is not seen in the LG TV.
      Sometimes it's there in few minutes, sometimes it's not visible for days! turn on&off is not working.
      If we want to watch a video we need to load it on a USB stick, which is definitely not nice in 2019.
      Looking at synology forums the DLNA file list should be automatically updated when a new file is added, is there any way to force refresh from LG app?

      I would like to play MP4 video file from my NAS, is this possible from LG Smart TV? I tried on the TV and did not see how I could do this, I also did not see any App that could help me in this area.

      My LG TV is connected to my home network so has direct access to my NAS.

      I have a 55UH650V Smart TV Which i'm lovin...  But I can't seem to get the live tv pause to work with a USB drive..   I bought a 64GB USB 3.0 drive which works for general program recording and playing music, picture files on the TV etc... But when I try to pause live tv it says it cant work with this drive choose another?
       
      Is there anywhere that specifically advises on USB spec for this function?
       
      Kinda think it should be in the manual but i cant find it...
