Yes please! There really is not a reason for this not to happen. Overall, there seems to be a lack of apps for this smart TV.

Lack of apps is problem, well it is only a problem if there is not an app you specifically want.  LG do not make the apps themselves and we, the end user, have no idea how much effort LG themselves make at getting content providers to produce apps for the platform.  So if you want a specific app really you need to pursue that with the content provider first, then if you cannot get any joy out of them contact LG and give them proof of your interaction and then see if they will get involved.

If you write code then producing an app for webOS does not seem particularly difficult, there is a well developed SDK, plenty of help, tutorials and code examples on the LG developer site and of course YouTube is there if needed.  There is of course a process to go through submitting the app to LG who if they approve it will make it available in the app catalogue.

I imagine that one of the biggest reasons that LG does not write the apps themselves is that content providers would have to allow access to various APIs and the like to be able to interact with their services, which some would be reluctant to do.

I don't know how much LG monitors the posts here, but I'd recommend searching for Spectrum and giving a "thumbs-up" to every post that asks them to add an app!

Some forums and bug trackers use this to weigh member interest.

I know this was mentioned before. I'd like to support this.
WebOS is such a great and versatile system; a real media centre. BUT: I have a number of video files that it simply doesn't play. VLC, e.g. does, but is not available.
To me it is such a pity that I have to have a system in parallel (actually a PC!) to play those files, with VLC, and then switch to HDMI to watch the clips on my TV. This doesn't look very much like 2026, as far as I am concerned.
To give an example, in which nothing is spectacular, and yet it doesn't play:

Better yet: add something like VLC or at least Dragon. Make it available; even if the warranty was void, I'd prefer to load such an application.
      Thanks for pondering!

I recently bought a 50NANO90A6B TV and so far I have to say it's a fantastic upgrade from my old Sony 40".
However, I've one small niggle problem (only had the TV since Sunday)... The YouTube app doesn't seem to want to work! it shows the logo with a spinny circle, then the logo starts again with the spinny circle... this just repeats over and over.
All other apps (iPlayer, Jellyfin, Plex, ITV, CH4 etc...) work as does the LGTV app, so the WiFi connection is fine!
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the YouTube app a few times, but it does the same each time!
Anyone know how I can sort this? any other suggestions for fixing it!
I'm currently using my Chromecast with GoogleTV for YouTube at the moment.
I'm in the UK by the way! And the TV is set to that, in all the relevant settings locations.

      Hello all,
I believe this problem started after i accidently started and immediately cancelled the download of a app. After this I am unable to install or update any app evem after resetting to initial settings.
This should be the exact problem found here https://www.lgwebos.com/topic/1918-because-i-can however the solution seems to require a new update. Help?

      Hello there!
Recently the prime video app started to require the update to open, and now i am having a problem, because this app update REQUIRES to a system update of firmware (to webos24),
but it will make impossible to homebrew later.
So, can someone at least provide the last or update ipk of amazon (amazon.ipk), so i can install manually?
      Thanks!
