New OLED65C6P Cannot Update Web Apps or Access Content Store

Question

Posted

Installed new OLED65C6P-U

Wired internet connection.  Can access web using resident browser, but cannot run any video within web applications such as CNN, Fox News, etc.  Can access Web Apps using Sony Blu-Ray.

Cannot access LG Content Store.  Error message indicating a "temporary problem"

Attempt to use any resident Web App says must update.  Select Update and get error message indicating a temporary problem along with error code 6003.

Have reset 3 times.  Same result

Have turned off AC to TV twice, waiting a minute before restarting.  Same result.

Cannot access Local Account from TV General Settings page.

Seems as if LG Server is down somewhaere, but no info on Web indicating this is the case as of this date (April 16, 2017)

Email to Support resulted in email return saying problem difficult to solve via email; call Support (which I will do Monday).

Similar problems seem to have faced customers in past with no apparent solution, but problem just disappears.

Anyone faced this problem and solved it with specific steps to remedy?

Contacted LG support.  Very helpful.

First clue:  Successfully accessed LG Content Store and other web apps using iPhone wireless hot spot.

Reverting back to wired Ethernet or wireless through AT&T DSL service TV could not maintain connection to LG Content Store server.

Resolved problem by editing  DNS address to 8.8.8.8 from address automatically assigned by Motorola DSL router.

I am experiencing this problem with the LG Content Store upon attempting to download anything. Upon trying to do so the following message is generated;

"there is a temporary error with the network 6003"

There is no connection issue, all pre-installed apps e.g. Netflix stream fine as does on all other devices. TV is connected directly to router with an Ethernet cable as a distance of around 0.5m. TV has no update to install and has never previously had a problem.

Unfortunately LG have not been overly helpful suggesting that I turn the TV off and on or pay for an engineer as the TV is 2.5 years old and therefor out of warranty.

Suggestions would be very welcome.

Since my lg-oled65c9pla auto-updated to WebOS 5.5, there is a new bug.
The TV is connected to my Cambridge Audio Evo 75 amplifier over ARC - on powering the TV, it has always started up the amp, and switched it to use audio, instead of the appalling TV speakers. The whole setup has worked flawlessly for 5 years, but since WebOS 5.5, the amplifier starts, but is left in a muted state, and using the un-mute or volume controls on the TV remote makes no difference to turning on audio. The only way to get audio to play though my amp a speakers is to turn the amp's volume dial or press a volume button on the a amp's remote - this then unmutes the TV and audio is back.
There is no setting I can find in the TV that relates to whether the ARC channel starts muted or not...
No software has changed in my amp.  This is an annoying new bug in the TV software, I assume down to some CEC changes.

I've just updated my LG 55UM75 TV to the latest software version - 05..20.15 - and now the picture looks off.
I've turned off TruMotion, Motion Eye Care, Smooth Gradation, Noise Reduction and Smooth Gradation, but somehow everything still looks artificial.
Is there another picture setting I'm missing, I've gone through every setting I can find.

      Hi there,

I have an LG smart TV OLED65G36LA (LG OS v03.20.17, webOS TV version 8.20.0-710) , and the Prime Video App was no longer able to update (from Dec 2025) and therefore could no longer be used.
I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing, and that was unable to work, so then applied a full reset on the LG TV and so had to reinstall all of my other apps (Apple TV, Netflix, etc etc) which all successfully downloaded so confirmed network connections and setup are all confirmed working.
When I try to download the Prime Video app, it remains stuck on the download screen and is unable to update.
      Thanks

I'm told that OneFootball has an app that's available on LG WebOS. Can someone tell me how to find it? I went to 'LG Channels' and did a search, but that search seems to be for programs, not channels. I went to the Sports category and didn't find it either. Thanks.

I'm urgently looking for a way to watch video files that are accessible via different SMB-shares - I was able to do that with external devices like WD-TV-HD Media Player or a raspberry pie - and I thought that I will not need that any more with my new LG OLED - I can webOS or which APP I need to install on the TV to do that
I was expecting to see accessible SMB shares - where I can enter or even store user/pw -  besides the Sticks/HDDs attached to the USB port
In the Internet I just found solutions by hacking / manipulating webOS - I cannot believe that this is the correct/only way to achieve that...

      TIA,
         Chi
