If you enable the DLNA server on Windows 10 (just search for "enable media streaming") and if your video is inside a folder which is part of video library collection (which you can manage it through explorer or better and easily through windows media player), you can directly play all the videos (of the format and with the codec supported by your LG TV) directly from your PC without any additional transcoding. The cast is needed only for device that cannot directly play from your PC. If you have some content that needs realtime transcoding, installin plex player (on lg tv) and plex server (on your PC) may be a better solution (of course you need adequate hardware on your system, mainly a high level CPU).

    • Recording on the network share

If I understand correctly, currently (WebOS 4.0), it's possible to record TV shows on the flash drive only. Could you implement recording on the network share (Windows share, samba or similar)? I have small NAS so it would be great if I could use it's storage for this purpose. Regards, Jaroslav

    • Question: Lg webos media player subtitles

Hi, i have webos 4.0 on my tv. LG media player  has lowest subtitle position "-2", but i would like them even lower (in black bars when letterbox movie is played). Is there a way or tweak to do that? I noticed that position -2 is higher in webos 4.0 compared to webos 3.5 Unfortunately kodi is not for webos, Is there other media player for webos that plays video files from usb? i cant find none.

    • NFS share mount

I would like to be able to mount NFS shares (and possibly SAMBA/Windows shares, but these would be too slow to play HD videos ...)  so that I can play videos directly without depending on a DLNA server. This is because the DLNA implemented by LG WebOS is still too primitive and does not allow to play x265 videos.

    • Question: ES File Explorer

The Es File Explorer app is missing in the LG Content Store. Also, Jio TV App is not in the content store. Third-party installation is not at all possible. Does anyone have a way to install Jio TV App on LG 49UH650T

      1) Use Android Phone to cast Youtube directly to the TV (i.e. not via ChromeCast)
      2) Pause the video.
      3) Wait until screensaver kicks in (youtube text and animated blob)
      4) Unpause using the phone.
      5) Audio starts playing, but screensaver doesn't turn off.

      Expected behaviour:
Screensaver to disappar and video to be shown at the same time that audio resumes.

      Actual behaviour:
Only audio resumes. Screensaver remains until button on TV remote is touched to "wake it up".
