Does Web OS 3.00 fast forward easily ?

Hello

Wow, I just found this forum.

I have an early LG smart tv.

It goes well, but I want to upgrade to a new one.

 

I like to play movies from a portable hard drive that I plug in to my tv through a USB port.

This works well, with two small problems.

 

One, is that as I play the moves in our bedroom at night, the remote is hard to use - too many buttons and hard to find.

 

Two, it is very hard to fast forward or rewind a movie (to get to a place you missed the previous night if you fell asleep.)

 

I am hoping that a new LG tv with Web OS 3.00 and a magic remote will solve both of these problems.

 

Do any of you have any experience in using your LG tv in this way.

Will a new LG 2016 with Web OS 3.00 do what I want ?

Thanks fro the one reply.

But as no one had replied, I went to a store and saw the LG web os side by side with the Samsung Tizen.

The tizen seemed much easier to operate and had some nice video preset stops along the top of the screen so I coudl jump to part of the video quickly.

So in line wit the fact that LG have put some of their OS 3.00 staff off, I bought the Samsung.

      It is unprofessional on part of LG TV that they do not resolve the basic issue of adding app gCmob in their app store.

      I can't connect my office camera via Wi-Fi to LG-TV. No body in LG TV technical team is proactive in resolving the issue of customer. They are more happy to befool the customers, rather than looking for technical solution through wider thinking.
      Please talk to you top management and make a visit to our office to understand the customers plight..
      Please respond to customers needs.

      In "CMP settings": there is a huge list of vendors, IAB and Google.
      You can deselect consent for those.
      However when you go back, in the Google consent are all still enabled.
      Reject All doesn;t work. Deselecting individually and clicking "Confirm my choices" doesn't work. The Google ones are back on.
      That's really bad, GDPR.

      Does AirPlay work on your projector?

      Hi,
      does AirPlay work on your LG projector? I can't get my PF510Q to show up in the Screen Sharing AirPlay menu on my iPhone.
      Both the iPhone and the projector are connected to the same WiFi router (both wirelessly, no Ethernet). I tried enabling and disabling IPv6, restarting the router, iPhone and the projector, but still nothing showed up.
      Then I connected my MacBook to the same WiFi network and enabled AirPlay Receiver on the MacBook. The iPhone could immediately see the MacBook and stream to it, so it looks like the problem is in the projector.
      I should add that the WiFi router isn't connected to the internet, but there is no reason why AirPlay would need internet connection. After all, I was able to connect my iPhone to my MacBook via AirPlay without internet connection.

      My LG 43UM7600PLB TV does not sees the directories on the external USB drive

      As per the subject line, I have had a USB drive connected to my television for over four years, but for the past few days it has not been recognising the directories where my films and music are organised, and is displaying EVERYTHING in a single list of over a thousand files.
      It is a 1TB drive (half of the maximum 2TB allowed) with a power supply, formatted as NTFS, and not completely full.
      I have checked the drive and it has no bad sectors. I have tried connecting it to both USB ports and all the files are in the permitted format (avi, mkv, mp4, mp3, etc.).
      I have also tried another 1TB drive, but the result is the same.
      Do I need to reconfigure something in the television settings?
      It would be a significant loss if I cannot resolve this issue.
