Where is the useful apps on WebOS?!

alirezarz62

Question

I bought a LG smart TV with 4k stream but i don't see any useful application in it!

There is no LG Store for download apps & games there is just a Premium app to update Youtube and a little more apps that is not running well on WebOS 2.0!

I'm in Iran and the only 1 app that is useful in TV is just YouTube but its unavailable here (Filtered!)

I'm regret, why i didn't buy an Android TV!

I don't understand people who buy something first, and then at home verify what they actually bought.

Is here at least one person who can explain this phenomenon to me, please?

Before i decide to buy it, i thought and research about this TV but now i see there is none of that features available!

And now the TV remote destroyed!!! just now! Joystick is not working (some buttons too):angry:

I had/have the same issue here in New Zealand.  LG does great marketing with their YouTube vids showing all sorts of app functionality/availability, so it is fair to assume these functions/features/apps will be available when you buy the TV.  What they fail to make blatantly clear is that these apps are usually only for the US or UK regions.  In my view this is very misleading, the marketing spell should show what is available in a region that the marketing happens.  Unfortunately unless you Alirezarz62 can change your region and find apps in another region, you are stuck with what LG has for the region you are in.  I know there are ways of changing this broadly speaking, but the firmware is hardcoded to where the TV is sold so there are limitations, for example here in NZ I can access Australia, Asia, but the TV cannot be changed to the USA or UK.  If you're having issues with the remote/magic remote, I'd suggests reverting to factory settings and try the set up again.... whilst their support and their software/firmware are far from great, their hardware is generally pretty good.  Best of luck :)

Is it just me or is the plex app just unusable on webos.  When I try to select dvr items with the magic remote they just don’t play.  I am not sure if this is a plex issue or an lg webos issue.  Anyone know which it is?

I would like to play MP4 video file from my NAS, is this possible from LG Smart TV? I tried on the TV and did not see how I could do this, I also did not see any App that could help me in this area.

My LG TV is connected to my home network so has direct access to my NAS.

Has anyone else had the same problem as me regarding the 'like' button on the YouTube app on my Oled77g7v? There is a thumbs up button and a thumbs down button for each video. These icons are supposed to be just an outline unless you click on them and then they fill in to show you have selected them. However, this no longer works on my TV. It is as if you never clicked. In fact, the 'like' icon is always pre_filled, no matter what I do. This used to work properly and it still works correctly on a Sony TV I have. Any ideas would be very welcome!

I recently purchased an LG OLED48C2AUA. Frankly, I'm not pleased. The biggest problem is searching for programs, particularly across apps. For example, if I'm in Netflix, and search for a program that happens to be in Prime Video, using voice control (Alexa or LG) or the speak button on the remote, I usually get random UTube trailers or other suggestions, or no suggestions at all. It seems I have to know in advance what streaming app it's on, and even that doesn't work all the time. Before purchasing this TV, I used to be able to immediately find the program using the voice control on my Xfinity remote, or the Roku remote (if the program was on a streaming service) and my "unsmart" Sharp TV, with the input set to either cable box or Roku, as appropriate.
I don't want to have to know in advance what app the program is streaming on to find it. I want to be able to simply say "Alexa, show me "Boardwalk Empire", no matter what program or app the TV is currently tuned to. I want the complete list of possibilities to choose from, particularly since some may be free, depending on my subscriptions. Is this possible?

      hello,
I'm having problems with terrestrial TV broadcasts after installing the (Version 06.10.30) software package. The TV broadcasts that were saved are out of order and the search no longer runs as before. Suddenly the search bar jumps from 0% to 100% and no broadcasts are found. Neither radio nor TV. I have tried 3 DVBT2 antennas and two coax cables to see if that is the problem. But all of them behaved the same way on the TV, which is an LG 60SJ850V-ZA. I also tried a full TV reset but that didn't help. I also had the TV turned off for a longer period of time with no electricity, but it made no difference. The release date of the softer package is in December on the site, for me it appeared on the TV (OTA) around late January - early February. Should I expect a new patch in the near future or should I try a downgrade? Any other advice? Thanks in advance for your replies.
I'm currently buying a DVBT2 TV-BOX to watch the channels that are important to me, it's just a bit funny that I need this for such an "expensive" TV (for me). It is not a modern AI piece, but still...
