. Each subsequent release is only an attempt to remedy what the LG fucked up earlier and sold us in his magnificent TVs. The only positive stable change is to improve the speed and menus similar to webOS 2.0. The rest of the action is just experiments acting on time - in other words, LG pretends to know what's the problem, sends us some updates, but doing it just to get us to calm down, maybe we surrendered, forget and give them peace of mind.

This confirms exactly what I 'm saying has always put a body on a machine that weighs much more than its engine has the strength to move .
They miscalculated assessment of ' commitment to process all this , then they are also stupid because they continue to have to do everything automatically .
just put a menu choice for the automation functions , like, EPG , channel list ibn reception etc. , etc. , if they did it would alleviate the poor processor and its dynamic ram , for example, if I do not want the channel list could exclude , does not leave us no choice , for example , I bought a TV , because I also tune the radio ?

if I do not want them , he tunes too , just give me a chance to ignore them , but not to exclude them from the line saving memory , indexes , etc. , etc .

I say this because to do all these automatic , when perhaps at that time I do not need ? give me a chance to turn on or off the function at will , then I would be aware that if you ask an automatic at that time I have to wait for those moments processor esegua.ma them eg I have to change platform from terrestrial TV to satellite TV on TV makes me wait a minute because it must update 5000 channels it is really unbearable .

the hardware version 2015 what the ' have partly solved by putting the processor series " + " faster and doubling the ram dynamic second level from 256 to 512 Mb

who do not care about us is that in the observations suggest also to lighten the automatic functions with the choices , but we just ignore , do not care about their customers , it is a real shame because the ' hardware is really great, them bit less .

not to mention the internet , which is useless , just say that you connect , but then if you actually want to use , a lot of things you are denied and his speed makes us go back 20 years , but not ashamed  !.
I am not referring to the connection to the network but the connection internet.http .
what is the use if we implement it in effect is unusable ?

I agree. We all should relate them these TVs to the store and request a refund or to improve functionality, CPU replacement, memory etc. But we don't have the time nor the inclination, we want to live a little, instead devote our life to continuing fight with further idiots.

I've seen the app-restart because it ran out off memory, once on the new -15 firmware. The TV had been on for about 5 hours, then we saw some videos YouTube for about 40 minutes, and the the app restarted...

It's sad that you spend money to upgrade a fully functional but outdated TV (Panasonic Plasma with MPG2-tuner), and go for a promissing TV, and choose a model with 1,2 GHz DualCore procesor (you are not told which) and 2 GB RAM, and then end up with a product you can live with instead of enjoy.

A smartphone with these specs greatly outperforms this TV...

I binged on NARCOS all weekend and did not have an out of memory error while using the Netflix app.  I also have version .20, not .15.

WebOS is by far the best TV operating system there is, but LG is bad at ensuring their updates work and don't break other, important, aspect such as watching TV without needing to reboot it.  LOL.  Idiots.

This is for all that have LG monitors with the latest software that changed UI settings for GAME OPTIMIZER
I could not find this anywhere on the internet for an update on what happened to the compatibility modes for DisplayPort/HDMI. Everything is outdated.
Apparently LG updated their UI and MOVED the option for compatibility modes to disable DSC. This USED to be in the common GENERAL tab, but NO LG moved it to the External Devices, which makes no sense as it should be with the common general menu.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or an oversight, but here it is
SETTINGS BUTTON > GENERAL > EXTERNAL DEVICES > INPUT COMPATIBILITY
Why would you disable DSC, you ask?
Well, if you don't disable this mode, you will not be able to use scaling factors like DSR on NVIDIA. I have seen remarks about AMD being able to use it without this option turned off, but for NVIDIA they are behind on this.
This WILL disable high frame rates beyond 144 Hz for the trade-off, but you will be able to scale your resolution higher.

Since my lg-oled65c9pla auto-updated to WebOS 5.5, there is a new bug.
The TV is connected to my Cambridge Audio Evo 75 amplifier over ARC - on powering the TV, it has always started up the amp, and switched it to use audio, instead of the appalling TV speakers. The whole setup has worked flawlessly for 5 years, but since WebOS 5.5, the amplifier starts, but is left in a muted state, and using the un-mute or volume controls on the TV remote makes no difference to turning on audio. The only way to get audio to play though my amp a speakers is to turn the amp's volume dial or press a volume button on the a amp's remote - this then unmutes the TV and audio is back.
There is no setting I can find in the TV that relates to whether the ARC channel starts muted or not...
No software has changed in my amp.  This is an annoying new bug in the TV software, I assume down to some CEC changes.

I've just updated my LG 55UM75 TV to the latest software version - 05..20.15 - and now the picture looks off.
I've turned off TruMotion, Motion Eye Care, Smooth Gradation, Noise Reduction and Smooth Gradation, but somehow everything still looks artificial.
Is there another picture setting I'm missing, I've gone through every setting I can find.

      Hi there,

I have an LG smart TV OLED65G36LA (LG OS v03.20.17, webOS TV version 8.20.0-710) , and the Prime Video App was no longer able to update (from Dec 2025) and therefore could no longer be used.
I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing, and that was unable to work, so then applied a full reset on the LG TV and so had to reinstall all of my other apps (Apple TV, Netflix, etc etc) which all successfully downloaded so confirmed network connections and setup are all confirmed working.
When I try to download the Prime Video app, it remains stuck on the download screen and is unable to update.
      Thanks
