New Firmware 5.00.04 Broke my TV!!!!

Question

My TV has just automatically installed the new firmware rev 5.00.04 and now the HDMI connection is dropping out every 5-10 minutes to my AV amp. It never did this before and it basically makes the TV unwatchable.

I have even changed the AV amp to verify its the TV and it still does it. A factory reset hasn't fixed it either.

My TV is a 79" 79UB980T and I am in Singapore.

Anyone have any suggestions for a cure?

Cheers

Hi, I also have an Asian LG 55UB850T. The recent firmware 05.00.04 is so buggy. It randomly turns off my tv. I can't switch channels smoothly because it doesn't register my remote control orders. Basically it's a mess. Is there a downgrade available? Thank you.

Well I had the LG technician come over to my place this week as TV is still under warranty and he didn't even know about Rev 5.00.04!!!!

Safe to say that until a fix comes from LG don't hold your breath. I told the guy if it isn't fixed within a month then the TV goes back and I want a refund.....

I already tried turning off Simple Link but didn't make a lot of difference, sounds like they are just trying to buy time until they figure out whats gone wrong......

As for down grading, you should have mentioned that on their official forums there is a way to down grade haha

My 65UB950V was automatically updated from 04.55.55 which mostly worked with the exceptoin for Rasperry Pi 2 w/OSMC.tc w/Kodi. Well, after upgrade, OSMC hdmi (remote) works, but  over a period of 1-2 hours TV webOS becomes slower until I have to turn it off and on again to make webos respond.  Seems like a typical memory leak issue. Asked LG if I could downgrade, but that is not an option. He asked me to turn of SimpleLink too, which doesn't make any difference.  Suggestions?   Someone mentioned 5.00.12 firmware is available?

I have 47LB750T and recently it auto updated to software version 05.00.04, I now get "app out of memory" error very frequently and the TV restarts every time that error occurs. Called the tech support and was told to do a factory reset but it did not help at all. There is a version 04.62.50 on LG's support page but I was unable to downgrade using the method in the manual.

A search on Google took me to this website http://blog.techflaws.org/2014/05/26/firmware-downgrade-for-lg-smart-tvs/comment-page-4/#comment-16773 but not sure if it will work for my model.

Hello, I own a TV lg 55uh650v was set to Russia position and after the firmware update version 05.30.45 I can not use the app anymore because I can not accept the terms of the contract. I tried to change the DNS and connect via mobile but I did not get any results. I have tried several times to perform a factory reset but no results. Also I noticed that the version of my firmware is not on the site LG Italy I wondered if it was possible to return to a lower firmware version, could you help me?

    • Cutting the Cord - Dropping Cable TV Discussion

So for everyone that has a smart TV, do you still have cable service with a cable box? I'm in the US, so mostly interested to see if people are migrating away from Comcast, Verizon Fios, and services like that with a cable box to streaming services like Direct TV Now, Hulu, Youtube TV, Sling, etc.  I have Verizon Fios currently and need to use their equipment. I'm noticing more and more that we aren't watching scheduled tv anymore and just "whenever" watching. My two young children mostly watch youtube these days.  So I'm thinking of youtube TV maybe? Not sure.

    • Question: Install the correct firmware on my TV

Hi guys First of all, I want to warn you that perhaps they read a lousy English, this is what came out of the Google XD translator, I do not speak English, but I hope they can understand me and give me their help. I have a LG 42LB6500-UM TV that apparently has a problem with the Firmware, since I bought it I had automatic updates configured, so it was updated several times until arriving at the mysterious Firmware 05.00.15. Why mysterious? Because according to the support page of LG this software is not in the compatible history with the model of my TV. Here the problem began.
Since then I can not update the Firmware in any way, online it marks me an error "error in the decryption of the data ...", and when I try it for usb simply nothing happens. I'm stuck in version 05.00.15, but that's not the biggest problem. From that moment I can not access the content that HDCP requires, that is, netflix, cinepolis Klic, Prime Video, etc. Yes, it allows me to play YouTube. If I turn on the HDCP in the configuration of my PS4, the screen turns blue. An error in HDCP appears in the InStart menu. Can you think of an idea to solve this problem? Is it possible to delete the firmware and install a new one in a different way to the traditional one (online and usb)? I am 3 years old with this problem, and the LG technical support staff has only told me that I should change the Mainboard, that is very expensive, and the Mainboard of my TV is in excellent condition, it is a software problem. • Question: Virtual HDMI ports

I have been thinking would it be possible to make a HDMI switch that connects to the TV (maybe via USB to control it), the TV knows it's a switch and add virtual HDMI's and by selecting one of the virtual HDMI's is tell the switch to select the correct port.
