Just bought an LGLED-65UJ630 65INCH TV. Right away I started to get the message "This app will now restart to free up more memory". After searching the internet and forums, I now understand that this problem is huge, it has been going on for years now and it is right across many models of LG TV's. I have tried everything to fix this problem. It has the latest firmware. I did the factory reset and that lasted 4 hours before I got the message back. I turn off the TV and leave it for 10 minutes, maybe one hour later I get the message. I delete browsing history, maybe 10 minutes and I get the message..... you get the message. As I understand it, the problem is that LG TV's don't have enough internal memory, but they have shipped a ton of their "smart" TV's with this problem. My question is, has anybody heard anything from anybody, anywhere about a solution to this problem. I really want to keep this TV, but it is not fit for purpose in this state.
Bought a new 65" Smart TV, all the preoaded apps You Tube, Netflix etc are restarting after couple of minutes with "this app will now restart to free up more memory" message.
Hi, I've recently purchased a LG 43UK6300PLB, which by and large has been excellent! But I'm having problems with recording to USB. So far I've tried a 500GB drive I had spare, but its probably 7-8 years old, and I've tried an SSD as well. Tried the 500GB in an older USB2 external caddy and in a more recent USB3, and the SSD in the USB3. Both were formatted to NTFS. When I come to watch the recording, I get what looks like signal breakup where I might lose a second or so of the recording. Its not constant either, there might be a 10 second period where the quality is really bad and broken, and then maybe a minute of it being OK. I've tried the USB3 caddy with external 5V power added in too, 2A supply. Same problem happens if I pause live TV, and then unpause it a little later. Normal TV picture quality is fine, I've got good signal here and never see this on normal viewing. Wondered if anyone had suggestions? Is it worth trying a USB stick instead? Running out of ideas with this one. Thanks
If I understand correctly, currently (WebOS 4.0), it's possible to record TV shows on the flash drive only. Could you implement recording on the network share (Windows share, samba or similar)? I have small NAS so it would be great if I could use it's storage for this purpose. Regards, Jaroslav

NAS instead of USB HDD.
I have just got a new OLED B7 TV and would like to know if I can use my old USB HD that I was using with my old LED LG TV that was using the LG time machine 2.
When I plug the USB HD into the new B7 TV it says I need to format it. I see the new TV's need a NTFS drive and on the old LED TV it was using a linux system. Is all lost are any way to view the old data on the new OLED TV ?
Make 2017 TV sets that have latest USB ports, at least 3.0 so it is possible to find a compatible USB HDD WebOS will work properly with.
Install sufficient memory to run WebOS Apps without constant restarts or inform customers apps may not work properly.
Put a clearly accessible filer by Genre choice from the main program guide (something Toshiba TV and others have had for many years on their EPG's). Going out of the main EPG into the limited snapshot guide then finding the sort by Genre option is clunky. A zoom function on the main EPG to show more than just a couple of hours ahead would be ideal as well. Even my £70 supermarket own brand TV can manage these simple functions so come on LG match up.

I am trying to record terrestrial digital programs from my 2016 LG webosTV to a USB stick- if I set up a few programs to record, a few work, but after a day or two it will fail. and from that point all will fail.
The TV does still try to record, as I can see it pop up a notification if I am watching, but nothing is recorded. (No error message is shown then.)
If I look at the "scheduled recordings" page, it shows an error, and "Unable to load" for the start and end time of the failed show.
If I go to "recording history" for that show, I see a message saying "incomplete, Cable/broadcast service changed programming" but that can't be the case for so many different shows,
There is plenty of space on the USB stick.
I have tried LG support, but they can't tell me what the message means, and suggest returning the TV for repair.
As a side note: I don't usually watch terrestrial TV through the television- we still use Sky (which is why I want to get this working!) I only say that in case it was a reason that show schedule information is not being updated.
Any help or suggestions gratefully received.
