How to get recording app to recognize correct drive?

Our tv always needs to have the recording volume reset... the problem seems to be that the formatted disk has a small boot partition, about 150 mb, plus a 4 GB "main" volume, and the recording app "sees' the boot partition, and won't "hold" the setting for the main volume...

Unless you need that small partition, why don't you just get the TV to reformat the drive for you and use the entire disk?

wellll...because my wife had recorded a lot of time, and it was brutal to transfer it all to a backup, re-format and transfer back...and, i didn't see an option on any menu to format the disk? if you can point me to where that option is, I'll look into it. thanks for the answer!

Press the Home button on the remote

Top right next to the settings cog on left is the "Inputs". Click inputs

Right at the bottom of the list you will see All Inputs - highlight and click that

Arrow down to Portable, then on the right of the screen you will see EJECT and FORMAT, click that
