  1. I cant say I am surprised Simply copying the file with different suffix fools no-one You need to re-encode as .mkv I have been doing that will all other formats for several years now, mp4 etc Never had a problem playing the new version in my LG 65" Nano tv With no noticeable loss of quality
  2. You said it yourself 25 years ago The world has moved on. A quick conversion to .mkv takes a minute or two and saves disk space, without loss of quality
  3. Have you tried converting the file to a more modern format? I use Fornat Factory https://format-factory.en.softonic.com/ The converted file. say .mkv, will run with the Media Player and will be smaller, without loss of quality, if you want to archive it
  4. When you see the file name on the screen Use the subtitle icon on the lower left of the screen to open the subtitle box Then you can select the subtitles you want to see There is no default related to the tv settings
  5. It depends on what is embedded in the video file Some have very basic subtitles which are fine others have detail about font/colour etc I use SubtitleEdit to strip and modify the subs The first time you will need to enter all the options you need but they are saved ready for the next time
  6. The standard programme viewer is just as good as Kodi If you really want Kodi you can install it on a seperate box plugged in an hdmi socket
  7. Sound like a problem with SKY Now app on LG You have to chase Sky😏
  8. Where are the subtitles coming from? TV channels or downloaded video on disk? The latter are quite easy to adjust Start the video in the Media Player Click then Scroll down with the centre button on your remote You will see a SUB button come up on the screen Click on it, and in the menu on the right adjust the Size, at the bottom of the list
  9. Why did the latest WebOS update 03.51,15 change my home screen settings? That is very RUDE It is MY home screen, not yours☹️

  10. I have many files on my external disk but I do not experience any substantial delay It may be that you are using the disk for the first time? After that you will find a file added to you external device that will be used on subsequent connections and the load time will be negligible
  11. I use the standard Media Player on my LG Nanocell TV It plays all the modern media type, MKV and MP4 perfectly smoothly If a file will not play I run it through Format Factory on my PC to convert to MKV with 265 compression No visible loss of quality but file size reductions are beneficial as I have a large archive As for the frame drops and lagging, I suggest you look at the cable you are using to connect the USB and try a different USB. The cheap ones are not always good quality I run my videos from a USB hdd
  12. Are you sure the channel you are watching provides subtitles? IPTV cannot just magic them up for you I have IPTV smarters installed on my LG TV I do get subtitles on series, but only arabic Maybe a function of my location Nothing on live channels
  13. Thanks
  14. Where did you get that idea? A link would be useful
  15. I may be old fashioned but I turn off my TV at the power socket at night
  16. I don't see subtitles on any series with IPTV smarters With the films there are subtitles in Arabic on my subscription
  17. Occasionally they have issues and loose account details Give them a call They are available on WhatApp +91 70660 78966 I have found them to be helpful and responsive
  18. 1 Hot Player is not available on LG 2. It is not supported by IPTV Smarters Please keep with the Thread
  19. Why not use the builtin Media Player on the LG TV? It is very good and reliable
  20. If you are plugging a USB directly into to TV. the internal Media Player ignores all colour information However on my Nano90 TV subtitles are displayed correctly and readably Otherwise you may need to buy an external Android box to play the videos then the full formatting options will be available
  21. Have you checked your aerial and cable?
  22. Glad you found the solution For others, note that I had a similar problem very recently with an older TV, 2 years old Drop out of connection to hard disk I tracked it down to a faulty cable connecting the drive to the TV A new cable for $3 and all is fine again
  23. I have a different model of TV but no problem with external disks, even with multiple folder levels. Have you checked for an update of the Player app?
  24. You will probably need an external android box to load the app Then feed the signal to your LG TV via HDMI
  25. 1. LG uses LGOS. Not Android, so why should that site help? 2. It is blatant advertising and needs a credit card to get any information
