So basically I just got a new LG OLED TV (55 inch C5) and my Dad's C4 was seemingly able to display internal or embedded subtitles in TV shows through the built-in media player from external USB storage just fine with some tinkering in the menus.
But with mine, the subtitles are displaying all of the raw text in the subtitle files in the player, not using the arguments properly at all.
Pictures included for reference
Is there any way to fix this other than literally doing subtitles for every episode externally, in a seperate file?
These subtitles work fine when I play from the exact same storage device on my phone through VLC, and again on my Dad's LG TV

As the title says, please fix ASAP playback of Profile 7 (FEL/MEL) inside Matroska (.mkv) container.
On WEB OS 24 it was working with backwards compatibility to HDR10 base layer - in other words the Dolby Vision was omitted.
Currently in WEBOS 25 the files won't work/play.
As LG started to support Profile 8 Dolby Vision from WEB OS 25 in MKV properly, this should be easy fix for LG.
Example of MediaInfo of Profile 7:
Video ID : 1 Format : HEVC Format/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding Format profile : Main [email protected]@High HDR format : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, Profile 7.6, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, no metadata compression, Blu-ray compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, Version HDR10, HDR10 compatible Codec ID : V_MPEGH/ISO/HEVC Duration : 1 h 25 min Bit rate : 55.3 Mb/s Width : 3 840 pixels Height : 2 160 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 23.976 (24000/1001) FPS Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 (Type 2) Bit depth : 10 bits Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.278 Stream size : 32.9 GiB (91%) Language : English Default : Yes Forced : No Color range : Limited Color primaries : BT.2020 Transfer characteristics : PQ Matrix coefficients : BT.2020 non-constant Mastering display color primaries : BT.2020 Mastering display luminance : min: 0.0001 cd/m2, max: 1000 cd/m2 Maximum Content Light Level : 966 cd/m2 Maximum Frame-Average Light Level : 223 cd/m2 Cheers and thank you.

Hi Everyone,
i purchase qned706a i found a great tv and picture quality its awesome i know its not like oled but for me its more than enough, but i have one issue with it.
i got LG based on my previews experience with my brother tv its a nanocell lg from 2017, it's media player able to run all movie without any issue, i was shocked that my 2025 tv won't able to run DTS audio, i mange to add another audio track to my move as EAC3 its working perfect, but what's drive me crazy is that some video file MKV don't work at all showing me "this file cannot be recognised. and its working on the 2017 model without issue ! why is that DTS have some license issue ok but i don't call a video file have license too the video track shows HEVC (H265 Main 10 @L5.1), i try same video on samsung tv and it work on it i don't know why lg don't support it !
finally i try check other media player app and it seem lg don't support such app, and i read about Kodi app and i try it on dev mode but i didn't like it and the experience wasn't perfect i have some greenish pixel, but it was able to run the video and even run file with DTS audio, which take me to my final question.
if Kodi manage to run the video and audio fine, why LG media player didn't, and if its about license why they not allowed 3rd party app like VLC to publish their software !!
i hope LG focus on user experience and not nonsense AI that no one will use.

LG CLOiD Redefines Home Living by Making Daily Chores Effortless, Giving
Customers More Time for What Matters Most
SEOUL, Dec. 25, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) will be showcasing its new home robot, LG CLOiD, for the first time at CES® 2026, held in Las Vegas from January 6-9. Representing LG’s continued progress in home robotics, LG CLOiD is designed to perform a wide range of indoor household tasks, enhancing everyday convenience and improving quality of life by making home management more efficient and intuitive.
Positioned as a home assistant, LG CLOiD embodies LG’s vision of the “Zero Labor Home, Makes Quality Time” – a future where technology meaningfully reduces the burden of daily chores, allowing customers to focus more on the people and moments that matter most. The robot marks a significant milestone toward the company’s long-term goal of freeing customers from the time-consuming demands of housework.
Featuring a suitable form factor optimized for today’s living environments, LG CLOiD is built to perform a wide variety of tasks within the home. Its two articulated arms are powered by motors delivering seven degrees of freedom each, providing versatile motion similar to natural movements. Five individually actuated fingers on each hand provide advanced dexterity, allowing CLOiD to perform delicate and precise tasks that require fine motor control.
At the core of LG CLOiD is a chipset integrated into the head, functioning as the robot’s “brain.” This is complemented by a display, speaker, camera and an array of sensors that enable expressive communication, natural voice interaction and intelligent navigation. Powered by LG’s Affectionate Intelligence technology, CLOiD is designed to sense its surroundings, interact in a natural and user-friendly way and refine its responses over time through repeated interactions – aiming to provide more personalized support for everyday tasks.
LG views robotics as a key future growth engine and is accelerating innovation in this strategically important sector. As part of this effort, the company has established HS Robotics Lab within its Home Appliance Solution Company to secure differentiated technologies and further strengthen its core robotics capabilities and product competitiveness. In parallel, LG is actively pursuing joint research initiatives and strategic partnerships with leading robotics companies in Korea and around the globe.
Visitors to CES 2026 can experience LG CLOiD and a variety of real-life “Zero Labor Home” scenarios at LG’s booth (#15004, Las Vegas Convention Center).
